Naruto: Awakening Eternal Power with My Eye Techniques

Chapter 94: Departure

Except for that oddball Hashirama Senju. After all, back in that generation before Indra's and Asura's reincarnations, it was only with Asura and his help that they managed a slight edge over Indra during the great war. Yet this time around, things had completely reversed.

Uchiha Shiyu even suspected that throughout history, the reincarnations of Asura probably had teamed up with Kurama on several occasions. Otherwise, how could Naruto's Tailed Beast form be so unique? It was likely developed specifically to coordinate with Asura's Sage Art after multiple attempts using Six Paths Senjutsu.

Uchiha Shiyu didn't believe Kurama possessed any improvisational talent in battle, let alone Naruto. It made sense why Kurama had rejected those two toads—Gamabunta and Elder Sausage; obviously, he had better options available.

But facing Hashirama Senju, the reincarnation of Asura, Kurama must have been utterly confused when released from the genjutsu and freed from the Tailed Beast crisis.

What? This is still my good buddy? He's become so powerful—he's practically aiming for the heavens! He actually defeated Indra without my help. Well… maybe just a little with my help. Is he no longer needing me anymore? That hurts.

Although my good friend attacked me too, he still gave me that head pat thing—I can accept that. Maybe I should forgive him?

But then what he said next… Did you really just say that?! You think you're too good for me now? You don't want to team up anymore? Damn heartless jerk! Fine, break up if you want—don't come looking for me ever again!

In the end, he even sealed me away. The worst part was that he didn't seal me inside *himself*—meaning Hashirama didn't keep me sealed within his own body. Kurama swore never to play with him again, not even if begged. If I ever team up with him again, I swear I'll let a little girl knock me flat on my back. [Kurama's curse was nothing short of cruel.]

Hmph. As for Indra, you, Asura—you're so capable. Why not fight him on your own this time?

Perhaps due to Kurama's naturally stubborn pride, he never took the initiative to explain anything, causing misunderstandings to pile up until Naruto Uzumaki's era. That's also why Kurama always enjoyed pulling pranks on Naruto, though he still lent a hand when it mattered most.

Uchiha Shiyu wasn't flashy about his actions. Despite continuous duels against numerous master-level sword masters, he remained quite obscure among commoners. However, high-level officials within the Land of Iron knew all about Hino Homura. No one dared underestimate his strength.

Eventually, while Uchiha Shiyu was still pondering where to go next for further challenges, surprisingly, he received an invitation from Mifune, the Leader of the Land of Iron, who wished to meet him personally.

The invitation came as more of a surprise than anything else, but he decided to accept. After all, since arriving in the Land of Iron, he'd committed no wrongdoing and had nothing to hide.

The reason behind his surprise lay mainly in hearing long ago that the other had already entered retreat cultivation. Now inviting him meant that the man must have completed his retreat. Given this, there was a strong possibility he had advanced beyond Kage-level mastery in sword techniques.

When Uchiha Shiyu visited General Mifune, the meeting took place inside a training hall. Just past forty, this military leader of the Land of Iron was at the peak of his swordsmanship. True to Uchiha Shiyu's expectations, the general had indeed surpassed Kage-level proficiency through swordsmanship alone.

Perhaps due to his recent breakthrough into [Man and Blade Unity], Shiyu Uchiha clearly sensed the faint Blade Intent radiating from his opponent—who had also just reached this stage but failed to suppress it properly.

The moment Shiyu Uchiha saw him, his body instinctively reacted, though he quickly suppressed it. After all, Shiyu had already mentally prepared himself.

Out of respect for their respective roles, Uchiha Shiyu greeted General Mifune first: "Hino Homura reporting in, General Mifune."

General Mifune gestured for Uchiha Shiyu to stand at ease before carefully observing him and then speaking boldly, "Never would I have imagined that a ninja could reach such a level at such a young age—it's truly impressive! However, as long as you haven't violated the laws of the Land of Iron, I won't pursue the matter further. I'm curious, which Hidden Village among the Five Great Nations are you from?"

Right from the start, General Mifune had figured out Shiyu Uchiha's concealed identity. Clearly, Mifune must have done his homework beforehand. He also made his stance clear—if one obeys the rules, there will be no consequences.

Finally, after hearing the question, Uchiha Shiyu thought for a moment before straightforwardly replying, "Konoha," he replied. "Uchiha."

After listening, General Mifune showed slight surprise. Although he had suspected Konoha, he hadn't expected the Uchiha Clan. Yet soon afterward, he dismissed it without further concern, since it didn't directly impact the Land of Iron's interests. Unless White Fang himself came in person, nobody else could really arouse his interest—and currently, he lacked the authority to summon White Fang anyway.

Without hiding anything, General Mifune then directly explained why he had invited Uchiha Shiyu. Though located remotely, the Land of Iron had its own unique local products, attracting many foreign ninjas to visit. But unlike Uchiha Shiyu, those others often disregarded the rules.

Mifune planned to use Uchiha Shiyu's case as a model to set strict rules for the Land of Iron and thus specifically informed him about it. Originally, he had planned to recruit him, but once he learned Shiyu's background, he never mentioned it again.

Upon hearing Mifune's goal, Shiyu considered it briefly. Since agreeing wouldn't bring any losses, he accepted without objection. Still, to avoid future troubles, he decided he would leave here soon.

At the same time, he felt somewhat interested in the Land of Iron's local specialties. Unfortunately, the Uchiha business had not yet expanded into this region. This meeting, however, gave him a chance. Seizing the moment, Shiyu started discussing trade with the general.

Naturally, General Mifune found this intriguing—after all, the Land of Iron wasn't wealthy while the Land of Fire was widely known for its prosperity. Ever since the Senju Clan's decline, the Uchiha Clan's reputation had only grown stronger, particularly regarding their commercial goods, renowned for consistently high quality.

In the end, they merely reached a general agreement—the specifics were left to their subordinates to work out—but both sides were satisfied with the arrangement.

Finally, adopting the mindset of an elder offering guidance to a junior, General Mifune gave some pointers on Uchiha Shiyu's sword techniques. Naturally, Shiyu eagerly welcomed this, and whatever small grievances he had held finally vanished entirely.

Under General Mifune's guidance, Shiyu Uchiha felt that although Hatake Sumao might have greater overall strength, when it came to swordsmanship alone, General Mifune was far more refined. Shiyu gained tremendous insight from his guidance.

After completing Mifune's training, Shiyu Uchiha found that while his [Nine-Strike Continuous Slash] didn't change much, the transitions between any two moves of his [Thirty-Six Scattered Forms] became incredibly smooth—effectively saving him a full year of rigorous practice. In addition, under Mifune's guidance, he finally executed his own incomplete [Ultimate Move] for the first time.

As Shiyu prepared to leave, Mifune, observing his lightning-fast sword techniques, asked what this sword style was named. Already having thought it through, Shiyu replied directly to General Mifune: "This sword technique centers around speed. I've named it 'Seven Killings'—a name that reflects the unrelenting nature of each strike."

Seeing the curiosity in Mifune's eyes, Shiyu continued explaining: "Although the Second Ninja War has long passed, I sense that peace in the Ninja World won't last much longer—the Third Great Ninja War will surely erupt again. With my blade, I intend to cut down every enemy that dares invade Konoha, ensuring it will be soaked in their blood. That is why I call it Seven Killings."
