Naruto, are you all so good at self-seduction

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Apology

It was already night when Kanzuki finished his debrief with Danzo at the Root.

The response he received was merely to continue the surveillance tomorrow.

Upon returning home, Kanzuki had just finished washing up when Tian Tian came over again, familiar with the routine, and opened his fridge to grab some dumplings to eat.

"Haven't had dinner yet, huh? Mom made sushi rice, so I brought you some leftovers," she said, placing the food container on the table.

"What flavor?" Kanzuki asked, drying his hair with a towel while looking at the food box.

"Salmon."

When he opened the container, he discovered that it had already been partially eaten. Kanzuki looked at Tian Tian.

"Ahem, I told you it's what I didn't finish," Tian Tian said, covering her embarrassment with a cough.

Kanzuki didn't say anything further and picked up the chopsticks, only to notice they had been used before as well. However, he didn't mind and sat on the bed to eat.

As Tian Tian munched on dumplings, she occasionally glanced over at Kanzuki.

"It's salty," he remarked as he took a bite.

"Right? I think so too," she nodded, her eyes darting around.

"By the way, O Oboro."

"Mm?" Kanzuki responded, focused on his food.

"Today on my way back, I saw a girl walking back and forth in front of your house," Tian Tian said, her gaze fixed on him.

"Who was it?"

Kanzuki paused for a moment, then continued eating. "I don't know."

Tian Tian nodded thoughtfully, looking at the dumplings in her hand.

"She probably has something to ask you; she seemed to be pacing for quite a while."

"Yeah," Kanzuki replied flatly.

"O Oboro, do you have a close girlfriend?" Tian Tian asked nonchalantly.

"No."

"Oh," she answered, swinging her legs on the chair while fidgeting with a bamboo skewer.

Perhaps the sushi rice was indeed quite salty; Kanzuki suddenly stood up, walked to the fridge, and grabbed a can of beverage, opening it with one hand and taking a sip.

"I want some too!" Tian Tian exclaimed.

Kanzuki handed her the can he had already opened.

Tian Tian took it with both hands, looked at the opening, and took a drink.

"Ha~ Hehe." After gulping down the beverage, she sighed contentedly and began to chuckle to herself.

Once Kanzuki finished the sushi rice, he casually placed the empty container on the table.

Tian Tian also stood up from the chair, tidying away the food box and chopsticks.

"Well, I'm leaving," she said to Kanzuki.

"Mm."

Just as she reached the door, Kanzuki suddenly called out to her.

"Tian Tian."

"What is it, O Oboro?"

Kanzuki gestured to the drink in her hand. "You should take it back. Aren't you afraid your mom will scold you?"

"Oh, right," Tian Tian realized, then immediately tilted her head back and chugged down the entire can in one go.

She placed the empty can on the table and waved goodbye to Kanzuki.

"Goodnight, O Oboro."

The door swung shut behind her, and Kanzuki stared at the empty can on the table, a bit lost in thought.

"This girl has quite an appetite to down the whole thing in one go," he couldn't help but mutter.

The sister Tian Tian mentioned soon became clear to Kanzuki.

Because the next day at the same time when he got home, he ran into Akane, who was loitering in front of his door.

Kanzuki felt somewhat surprised.

"Um... Oboro," Akane said, appearing a bit awkward, her tone and movements looking very rigid.

"Is there something you need?" Kanzuki replied, his voice devoid of emotion.

"I... am here to apologize," Akane said, fiddling with her finger by her cheek, her gaze darting around. She had asked many people to find out Kanzuki's address.

Kanzuki cast her a calm glance then casually turned to unlock his own door.

"No need," he said.

"Well, about the other day, Genma and the others were too impulsive. I hope you don't take it to heart," Akane said hastily.

At that moment, Kanzuki suddenly turned his head, his deep eyes staring directly at her, startling Akane.

"Are you apologizing for yourself, or for them?"

"Ah?" Akane was taken aback, unable to grasp the meaning behind Kanzuki's words.

"Weren't they standing up for you? They suffered because of that; is this how you talk about your friends?"

Bang!

The door slammed shut, leaving Akane standing outside in a daze.

People flowed by on the street, and the setting sun stretched everyone's shadows long.

Tian Tian sat on the threshold of her family's ninja tool shop, resting her chin in her hand while gazing at Akane outside the door.

Who is that woman anyway?

She looks like she's much older than O Oboro.

Did she just have an argument with O Oboro?

What kind of relationship do they have anyway?

Damn it, I want to know...

After wrestling with her thoughts for a long time, Tian Tian finally couldn't hold back and stood up, walking toward Akane.

Having thought for a long time, Akane sighed and was just about to turn and leave when she suddenly noticed a little girl with a bun hairstyle standing next to her.

"Hello, sister," Tian Tian said sweetly.

"Uh, hi there," Akane replied, a bit surprised.

"Why are you standing here?" Tian Tian asked with a smile.

"I was just about to leave," Akane answered.

"What's your relationship with O Oboro?" Tian Tian inquired curiously.

O Oboro… referring to Kanzuki, right?

Akane found it somewhat difficult to respond. She could say they were friends, but Kanzuki didn't seem to regard her as one. Moreover, given the current situation, they certainly couldn't be called friends.

It felt a bit inappropriate to refer to him as a stranger, and to call him a colleague was even less accurate...

Watching her struggle to reply, Tian Tian couldn't help but let her mind wander.

"Do you have something to discuss with O Oboro?" Akane pondered for a moment before finally saying, "I came to apologize."

"Apologize?" Tian Tian responded, surprised.

"Mm... I did something wrong," Akane slowly confessed. "I'm sorry to many people."

Many people…

Tian Tian froze for a moment, her expression suddenly turning terrified.

Extra-marital affair?!

Akane observed Kanzuki's tightly shut door, wondering if she should come back tomorrow, and promptly turned to leave.

Tian Tian then arrived at Kanzuki's door and began knocking furiously.

A moment later, Kanzuki peeked out from behind the door. "You're going to break it."

"O Oboro." Tian Tian had a pitying look on her face as she opened the door and hugged his waist.

"What's going on?" Kanzuki asked, confused.

"The feeling of being betrayed must be terrible," Tian Tian said, concerned. "It's okay; you still have me. I'll always be by your side from now on."

"What are you talking about?" Kanzuki said helplessly as he pushed Tian Tian away.

"About that woman just now," she said.

That woman… Akane?

Kanzuki scanned around and spotted Akane's retreating figure.

"Seriously, what's going through your head? I have nothing going on with her."

Once he shoved Tian Tian out of the room, Kanzuki slammed the door shut behind him.

Tian Tian stood outside, reflecting on what Kanzuki had just said, and let out a deep breath.

It's okay… That's good...

As she recalled what she'd said, she couldn't help but feel her face flush.

What did I just say? O Oboro probably didn't take it seriously, right?

On the third day, Kanzuki encountered Akane again loitering in front of his door.

Does this woman not know when to stop…

Kanzuki thought helplessly.

"Oboro!" Akane exclaimed, waving anxiously upon seeing Kanzuki's return.

"What do you want?" Kanzuki said, feeling a bit annoyed.

"Well, yesterday, I thought about it, and my initial approach was definitely wrong. I'm here to apologize for what happened previously and yesterday," Akane said earnestly.

"My friends did that because of me, so if you're upset, you can take it out on me; it really has nothing to do with them."

Kanzuki stopped in front of her and said flatly, "Listen carefully."

"Whether you apologize or not doesn't matter at all. What happened before or yesterday is not my concern. After all, I'm not the one who suffered. I won't take any action against you."

"Because people like you and the things you did aren't worth my effort."

"So, are you not angry?" Akane asked.

This stupid girl, can't you tell when I'm scolding you?

Kanzuki sighed inwardly but replied, "If you keep blocking my door every day, I can't guarantee I'll stay calm."

Akane sighed in relief and smiled at Kanzuki. "Sorry for the trouble."

Kanzuki didn't linger but walked past her and headed back into his home.

"Goodbye, Oboro."

He heard Akane's voice calling out from behind him.

Kanzuki simply opened the door and stepped inside, shutting it.

Bang!

Tian Tian was still sitting at the front of her own store, watching Akane's cheerful departure after being brushed off by Kanzuki. She couldn't help but snort in annoyance.

"Thick-skinned!"

"Seductress."
