Chapter 25: Chapter 025: The Pitiful Uchiha

Chapter 025: The Pitiful Uchiha

Tsukuyo hadn't told Senju Wakama the names of the Uchiha brothers.

But it didn't matter Wakama already knew who they were.

In his mind, he referred to them as "Uchiha Big Brother" and "Uchiha Little Brother."

For the next several days, while monitoring his sister, Wakama noticed that "Uchiha Little Brother" was tailing "Uchiha Big Brother."

However, the one distracting "Uchiha Little Brother" had shifted from Wakama to his sister, Senju Tsukuyo.

It had to be said, "Uchiha Little Brother's" stealth skills were laughably poor. The slightest disturbance from Tsukuyo was enough to divert his attention, causing him to lose track of "Uchiha Big Brother" every single time.

And so…

Recently, Wakama is daily entertainment had become:

Watching his eldest brother, Hashirama, lead "Uchiha Big Brother" on a merry chase;

And watching his sister, Tsukuyo, toy with "Uchiha Little Brother."

Wakama couldn't help but feel sorry for the Uchiha brothers. They were completely at the mercy of his sister's whims.

He thought to himself, The Uchiha clan really is full of good-looking fools. No, I must find a way to marry my sister into the Uchiha clan.

If he could marry his demonic sister, who was capable of feeding her own family metaphorical "crap," into the Uchiha clan, it wouldn't take more than a year for the Uchiha to be wiped out because of her.

For other girls, marriage might be about starting a new life;

For his sister, Tsukuyo, marriage would be about delivering disaster.

However, it was still too early to think about such things.

Tsukuyo was still young and had plenty of room to grow into her demonic potential.

This realization made Wakama feel uneasy. Sooner or later, this would blow up in their faces.

Wakama shared his concerns with Tsukuyo, knowing full well that she would handle it. He decided not to meddle further.

After all, staying safe and unnoticed was Wakama is brand of justice.

---

*Nakano River Forest.*

The forest was alive with the hum of insects.

The Senju siblings had once again come to the forest to secretly meet with the Uchiha boys.

Hashirama was sparring with his dear friend, while Tsukuyo, after diverting the younger Uchiha brother, returned to the scene.

Wakama observed everything from the sidelines, not participating in his siblings' activities.

He was diligently fulfilling Tobirama's request to keep an eye on Tsukuyo.

In his stealthy state, Wakama watched as Tsukuyo crouched in the grass, playing with small animals.

At this moment…

"Shakura, shakura, pulling you along to pull…"

In the clearing ahead, seven or eight small mice stood on their hind legs, holding paws and forming a circle around a pile of steaming feces. They danced to the rhythm of Tsukuyo is off-key singing.

Good heavens!

How could his sister's sweet and gentle voice make this cherry blossom song sound so terrible?!

And yet, the mice dutifully danced in time to her singing, their movements eerily synchronized.

Wakama knew this was a rehearsal for tomorrow's "entertainment program."

The pile of feces in the center belonged to a larger animal, and beneath it was a white crystalline substance.

Tsukuyo called it "dry ice," a solid form of carbon dioxide, created using a combination of various nature transformations. Wakama had no idea how it worked, but he dutifully recorded the process in his notebook.

The dry ice emitted a flowing white mist, giving the otherwise ordinary pile of feces an otherworldly, mystical appearance.

Combined with the mice dancing in a circle, the scene was bizarrely captivating.

Wakama had witnessed similar strange scenes many times over the past few days.

The poor Uchiha younger brother had been repeatedly distracted by the forest animals' peculiar behavior, losing track of his older brother each time.

And honestly…

It was hard not to be drawn in by such oddities.

Even a seasoned adult would find it difficult to ignore such a spectacle, let alone a curious child.

Tsukuyo, of course, came up with new antics every day, each scene more bizarre than the last.

Wakama covered his ears, trying to block out his sister's unforgettable singing voice.

After what felt like an eternity, the mice took a break to nibble on some nuts before resuming their dance.

This time, they didn't need Tsukuyo to provide the background music they sang on their own.

The melody actually matched the original song's rhythm, except the lyrics were replaced with "squeak, squeak, squeak."

Well, at least it's less painful to listen to when I can't understand it.

Wakama quietly lowered his hands from his ears and whispered from the shadows, "Tsukuyo, distracting that kid like this isn't a long-term solution. After failing to track his brother for a while, he'll probably turn to the adults in his clan for help. What will you do then?"

If they resorted to killing the boy, Hashirama's relationship with the Uchiha would be ruined.

Tsukuyo slowly turned to face Wakama is direction. Her beautiful smile, backlit by the sun, sent a chill down his spine.

She was still Tsukuyo a beautiful yet terrifying sister.

"Third Brother's concerns are valid. I've been thinking about how to handle this, but…" Tsukuyo smiled. "I'll take care of it myself. You don't need to worry about me. Instead, you should be concerned about yourself, Third Brother. Trouble is coming your way."

Wakama frowned. "What's happened that I don't know about?"

"The girl you asked the Kumata family to shelter has run away." Tsukuyo pulled a letter from her wide sleeve and handed it to him. "Honestly, Third Brother, I told you the rations would only last seven days. Did you really plan to wait until after seven days to see her?"

Wakama took the letter, his brow furrowed.

Tsukuyo continued, "I didn't read the letter she left for you, but I had some birds follow her to ensure her safety. Surprisingly, they saw something interesting."

Wakama remained silent.

Tsukuyo looked at him with a mischievous grin. "She went to the Hyūga clan."

Wakama sighed in relief. "She's a Hyūga. It's not strange for her to return to her clan."

"True…" Tsukuyo is smile widened. "But I recall you mentioning that she confessed her feelings to you before."

Wakama was puzzled, but as Tsukuyo is smile grew more sinister, he couldn't help but ask, "What… exactly happened?"

Tsukuyo didn't tease him further. "Wakama, get ready to be hunted by the Hyūga clan."
