Naruto: Akira’s Story

Chapter 25: Two besties

"I've never heard of anything like that before. I'd love to read it," Kurenai said, nodding at her own words.

"Oh, Akira, I'd like to check out your… creative outburst too." Anko let out her last words in a sultry breath.

"Well, I hope, ahem, you both enjoy my book." Thankfully, the water in the onsen wasn't all that clear, so even up close, it was pretty hard to see anyone's private parts. Anko or Kurenai - hell, even if the whole village saw it, I wouldn't care. What worried me more was how people would react if they realized what Anko was up to right in front of everyone. I knew how to react to a hand suddenly grabbing my manhood - or rather, my body knew. I have no idea how Anko managed it, but her shoulder, poking out of the water, didn't move at all, unlike her forearm.

"So, how long are you staying in the village?" Anko asked her friend, not pausing her little activity.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. I think I'll relax for about a week, then get back to missions." Kurenai slid a bit deeper into the water.

"Aw, I was hoping Asuma might finally keep you off missions for a while. Maybe it's time you took on a team?" Anko's voice jumped up a few octaves as she looked at Kurenai with hope.

"I… I don't think I'm ready for that kind of responsibility yet."

"Don't sell yourself short, Yuhi, you're a strong kunoichi. By the way, why'd you ignore my question about Asuma? Hmm? Come on, spill it."

It was a weird feeling. On one hand, I wasn't really part of the conversation - the girls weren't shy at all and spoke loud enough for anyone to hear. On the other hand, Anko was definitely keeping my attention on their "girl talk" - yeah, with her hand, but still.

"Anko, don't start… things are complicated right now."

"What's so complicated? Did you two go on a date?" Anko started gesturing with her free hand.

"I guess so. After a successful mission, we grabbed a bite at a café, and then he walked me home."

Knew it - no romance at all. For Asuma, a bouquet of flowers is probably the height of romance. Not that I'm going to say anything. Honestly, I should just be sitting here with my eyes closed, enjoying the hot water and Anko-therapy.

"How boring. Did you at least kiss him? Or did he kiss you? On the cheek? No? Ugh, what am I going to do with you? Akira, you still awake over there?"

"Mmm?" I opened my eyes and glanced at the girls, their upper bodies flushed from the heat, then looked Anko in the eye.

"You free tonight? How about a date with two of the most beautiful kunoichi in the village?" She gave a few more subtle squeezes with her left hand.

"Let me think…"

"Hey, Anko, you didn't even ask if I was okay with it!" Kurenai smacked Anko on the shoulder.

"And are you?" Anko raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Well… it's not that I mind, just, you know, for decency's sake." She glanced at me.

"To be honest, I don't have anything urgent going on today, so I don't see any reason to say no. So, have you two decided where we're going?"

"Huh? What do you mean?" Both girls looked at me in surprise.

"Well… you invited me, so I figured you had some plans for a fun night out. So, where to?"

"Anko, this was your idea, so you figure it out." Kurenai said right away.

"Ugh, why does poor Anko always have to do everything?"

"Don't worry, if things get really bad, I'll lend you a hand." I let out a deep, exaggerated sigh.

"Ha! That's more like it!" She finally let go of my now-throbbing member, stood up, and started hurrying Kurenai out of the water.

I sat for a few more minutes, waiting for the blood flow to my lower half to calm down, and only then left the onsen.

I figured I'd have to wait for them outside, but the girls surprised me - they were out before I was.

I still have no idea how they managed to dry their hair so fast. No matter how hard I try with a towel, mine stays damp for at least another half hour.

"So, where are we going?" I asked, and immediately regretted having that box of dango earlier. I didn't get a chance to protest or show I was "against" anything. Kurenai said she was sick of dango and wanted to try something new.

"Well, I'm not sure… Oh, I know! There's a new restaurant that just opened - McDonald's. I haven't been yet, but some of my coworkers have brought in these 'burgers' a couple of times, and I really liked them."

"A new restaurant? Sounds good to me." Kurenai nodded.

Amazing. Going on a date to my own restaurant. Actually, it doesn't sound so bad - plus, I can check if Ayumi sorted out the window.

It was a weird date, and honestly, we looked pretty odd. Well, "we" - I looked fine in my kimono, but it didn't really go with Anko's long beige coat, under which she wore only a miniskirt and fishnet lingerie. And Kurenai had these ribbons wrapped around her body, making a kind of dress - how do those even stay on? [ image ]

"Anko, you mentioned you work in some department. What do you do?" I probably didn't even need to ask, since I already knew so much about them, but walking in silence is only nice when you're alone, not surrounded by two girls.

"Uh, the interrogation department." She looked a little embarrassed, but then flashed a predatory grin. "If you ever commit a crime, you might end up in my chair. I'm really good with ropes and needles, you know."

"Oh, so that's why you dress like that - to mess with the emotions of the people you interrogate?" I tried to sneak a peek at her nipple under the coat, but it was well hidden, only giving a view of her belly button.

"Wow, you're pretty sharp. And yeah, on missions, if there's a fight, this outfit gives me an edge too."

"Heh, if everyone starts thinking like that, I'm afraid all the shinobi will start going on missions naked. Just imagine Guy charging at you, shouting about the power of youth, completely naked. I think any enemy shinobi would lose that psychological battle."

"AHAHAHAHA! Kami, I just pictured it!" She slapped her friend's shoulder, while Kurenai was shaking, trying to keep her lips pressed together.

"And imagine the Hokage, with his Will of Fire…" Okay, I should probably stop. Jokes are jokes, but around here, you could get stabbed for less. Luckily, the girls weren't offended - in fact, the joke landed hard. Anko even dropped to her knees, clutching Kurenai's waist, and the red-eyed beauty looked like she was about to burst from holding in her laughter. Man, if I knew a hundred jokes like all those other isekai protagonists… I bet they'd kill here.

"Hah… whew, that was good. Kami, now I can't get that image out of my head, and I have to report to the Hokage sometimes. Anyway… Oh, that must be McDonald's."

"Mmm, what a great smell," Kurenai said, adjusting her bandages.

Yeah, the smell of grilled patties within ten meters of the restaurant was a great magnet for hungry passersby.

Turns out the window had already been replaced - I thought it would take at least a few days. Ayumi's good, I can't afford to lose such a great employee.

We grabbed a table by the wall, a simple wooden one for four, and everyone started looking through the menu. After thinking it over, I decided on a salad, fries, and nuggets with my signature sauces. The girls also got salads and two combos each.

Anko was about to get up to place our order, but I, being the "gentleman," said I'd pay for everyone.

Kurenai protested, but Anko just laughed and said she was happy to save some money.

"All right, but let me pay this time," Kurenai said, finally dropping the formalities.

While we waited for our food, the kunoichi chatted about the place and watched the kids playing in the play area with soft smiles.

When our order number was called, I was about to get up, but Manami-chan - our young cleaner - decided to make my life easier. Much appreciated.

"Enjoy your meal," she said with a smile. "Akira-san." She nodded at me, beaming, then turned and went to clean up after the last customers.

"Oh, Akira, you know her?" Anko asked, unwrapping her double burger.

"Yeah, she works at my restaurant," I said casually, digging into my Caesar.

"Got it." "Got it." The girls nodded in unison. "Wait, she works at another restaurant? Yours?" Anko looked surprised.

"Um, I think he meant this restaurant," Kurenai explained to her friend.

A second later, I could see on Anko's face that she'd finally put it all together.

"You sneaky bastard… I was just about to give you extra points for treating us." Anko pouted.

"Still, thanks for the meal," Kurenai smiled.

Here I am, criticizing the locals for their lack of romance, and I'm taking girls on a date to McDonald's. Maybe it's because there's no romance between us at all? Who knows… After a hearty meal, we spent a little time in the park. Unfortunately for Anko, just then an ANBU showed up with a message from Morino - she was needed urgently for paperwork.

Keeping up a conversation with Kurenai was tough after Anko left - she got shy, and it was clear she wanted to go home. So after a walk through the park and a stop at the bookstore because she was curious about my book, we parted ways…

"Kurenai, wait." I couldn't just let her go like that. She'd only taken a few steps when she stopped and turned, a silent question on her face.

I took a few steps, stood in front of her, and leaned down a bit because of the height difference.

"You've got something on your lips." I gently took her chin, lifted her face, and pressed my lips to hers for a few seconds. Pulling back, I smiled. "That's better. Good night, and thanks for the 'date.' " [ image ]

I thought she'd say something, but she just stood there, staring at me with wide eyes.

Too bad Anko left - the night could've gotten even more interesting.

"You bastard!" For a second, I was confused, but when I saw where Kurenai's eyes were looking, I quickly turned around and realized my night was about to get a lot less boring.

Well, hello, Asuma. I wonder if the med-nin can save me?
