Chapter 936: All Present, Before the Final Battle (II)
As excitement surged, thirteen orbital battleships flew out from the forbidden zone. Behind them came a dense formation of golden warships, each carrying millions of Heavenly Feathered Race members.
Hum!
On the human side, the red battleship rumbled into motion. A deep, resonant horn sounded slowly, as the ship moved forward to receive them. High above, auras of immense power appeared one after another. The Primordial King and Heavenly King Zhenwu revealed themselves, followed by several other mythical-level kings including Mu Jun.
Each of these powerhouses shimmered with the light of laws, their figures towering and majestic, while their overwhelming presence filled the heavens. As they walked forward through the void, a rainbow path appeared beneath their feet. Above them, golden petals drifted down like rain.
The scene was so solemn and grand that even Chen Chu, standing at the front of the fleet with his hands behind his back, paused for a moment. By now, the rainbow path had extended all the way to Orbital Battleship 1.
The Primordial King's face carried a gentle smile. His eyes swept over Chen Chu and the others, then looked to all the cultivators aboard the ship. His voice, clear and powerful, echoed through the entire orbital fleet. "Everyone, welcome home. You've all worked hard."
At once, every cultivator's expression turned fervent. With eyes full of resolve, they shouted together, "This is our duty! Everything for the rise of the human race!"
Their ringing voices and burning will stirred even those on the nearby red battleship. Xia Youhui, Lin Xue, and the others felt their blood ignite with passion. They could barely restrain the urge to rush to the front lines and battle the ferocious demons of the Purgatory Clan for three hundred rounds.
However, as the red battleship drew closer to the returning fleet, and they were able to clearly see the scene aboard the other side's ships, they all froze when they saw the Third Councillor of the Federation, the Primordial King himself, resting a hand warmly on Chen Chu's shoulder, speaking to him with a smile.
"Holy crap, that's Ah Chu! My bro Ah Chu is on the other side!"
As far as ordinary people like Xia Youhui had known, Chen Chu had vanished while fighting off demon gods. Only a small number of top officials in the Federation had been aware of his return and placement in the expeditionary force.
Ji Wuji also recovered from his daze and smacked Xia Youhui hard on the shoulder. "I should've known. With Chen Chu's strength, if he disappeared for this long, he was definitely off on something big."
"Tch!Ow! Damn it, Old Ji, ease up!" Xia Youhui sucked in a sharp breath and clutched his shoulder, which had gone numb from the blow. This guy was definitely getting back at him for calling him out earlier on pretending to be cool. However, with his brother returning safe and sound, Xia Youhui didn't want to argue.
Thinking of this, excitement bubbled up in him again. "Haha... Ah Chu! I'm right here!" he shouted in excitement, ready to run over.
Thud!
Ji Wuji caught him by the shoulder. "Xia Youhui, I strongly suggest you don't act overly familiar with Chen Chu in front of all these people."
"...Right. Almost forgot." Xia Youhui stopped in his tracks.
Chen Chu's current fame could only be described as soaring to its peak, but not just within the Human Federation. Among the Purgatory Demon Clan, his name was even more reviled, and they wished for nothing more than to kill him.
Yet Chen Chu was simply too powerful. Even demon gods besieging him had failed to take him down, so the Purgatory Empire's Assassination Division could only target those around him.
If they couldn't kill him, then killing some of his friends or family would be a satisfying consolation. Better yet, if such actions could enrage Chen Chu enough to lose his composure and once again charge deep into the Purgatory Empire, then perhaps next time, he wouldn't escape so easily.
However, for now, nearly all of the demon cultists on the Blue Planet had been wiped out. The few remaining were deeply hidden and didn't dare show themselves, much less get access to information regarding Chen Chu. As a result, the demon gods such as Deorus still knew very little about Chen Chu's close relatives or companions, and they had yet to begin any targeted assassinations.
That was why, if Xia Youhui dared to publicly announce that he had a close relationship with Chen Chu and was his good brother, then once word spread to the Purgatory Empire, what awaited him would be relentless assassination attempts.
"What a pity. This was such a perfect chance to show off." Xia Youhui looked at the black-haired youth now at the center of everyone's attention and sighed in disappointment.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
From afar, powerful auras erupted across the golden warship fleet. Golden, white, and silver divine lights soared into the heavens, forming towering columns of holy radiance that pierced through the clouds.
In an instant, over forty mythical-level auras, more than ten chief gods, and three divine kings released a pressure that blanketed the sky. Everyone's legs weakened as shock spread across their faces.
"So many mythical powerhouses."
"Those with three pairs of glowing wings and law-bound worlds, they're all king-level beings!"
"My Clear Spirit Eyes are burning. Those three radiant figures are supreme beings! Don't look directly at them, their principle will backlash!"
"Three supreme beings... the Heavenly Feathered Race is terrifying..."
On the red battleship, every cultivator was stunned by the brilliant figures before them. No one had expected the Heavenly Feathered Race to send so many powerful figures.
Have they truly brought out their entire strength?
Countless awestruck people looked on as the Heavenly Feathered powerhouses landed one by one on Battleship 1. The Primordial King smiled and said, "Everyone, you've endured a long journey. Welcome to your new home. Normally, all of our supreme beings would have come to greet our new allies, but the frontlines are under pressure and must be guarded, so I came alone."
The Golden-Winged Divine King replied solemnly, "You flatter us, Lord Primordial. We are but refugees, undeserving of such honor. From now on, our race will depend greatly on your noble people."
"Hahaha... Lord Divine King, you're being too modest. You haven't failed. You've simply made a strategic relocation under the threat of the Purgatory Empire. I have both the confidence and determination that with our two races working together, we can build an even greater alliance. We, too, have great faith in your people's strength."
The Golden-Winged Divine King smiled and said, "Among your nobles, Lord Divine Might possesses peerless talent. I imagine you have many more exceptional talents as well."
The Primordial King laughed heartily. "Indeed, in recent years, many young geniuses have emerged among us. But Chen Chu is different. He is the exception. A peerless genius of his level, our race has only one."
Being praised so directly in public, even Chen Chu could only shake his head modestly and say, "You flatter me. I've merely advanced a little faster than others."
However, his statement made Heavenly King Xuanwu, standing beside him, unable to hold back. "Chen Chu, stop pretending to be modest. We all know how talented you are."
Looking up at those brilliant, radiant figures in the sky, at the black-haired youth who chatted casually even before supreme beings and divine kings of an alien race, Lin Xue felt dazed for a moment. She suddenly sighed. "Little Yu, the gap between us and him just keeps growing."
Staring at the glowing figure in silence, Lin Yu offered a gentle smile. "Sis, didn't you already realize this a long time ago?"
Lin Xue's expression grew slightly complex. "I did... but it still feels hard to accept."
Lin Yu warmly replied, "Sis, everyone's physique is different. There's no need to compare yourself to him. Our cultivation speed has been quite fast already. Father used to say that cultivation isn't a sprint, but a long marathon. As long as we keep moving forward, we'll have a chance to reach the peak. One day, we'll catch up to them."
"Little Yu, you actually believe Dad's motivational speech?" Lin Xue looked at her sister in surprise.
In normal times, that sort of sentiment made sense. Similarly, life wasn't a short sprint, but a long marathon. The starting line sometimes mattered, but with persistence, everyone could eventually reach the end... Because everyone died in the end.
The problem was, this was the Transcendence Era. In this age, everyone's running speed and the distance to the finish line were entirely different.
Lin Yu let out a sigh. "Sis, can't you talk like a normal person? If you don't believe it, what do you plan to do? Just sit there in despair and stare blankly into space?"
"You're right." Lin Xue nodded. "Let's give it our best. Even if we can't catch up to Chen Chu, we can't let Luo Fei leave us too far behind. I heard she already broke through to the Eighth Heavenly Realm."
It wasn't just the Lin Sisters reflecting on the widening gap. In the distance, seniors like Lin Mei and Fu Jiangtao, who had once crossed paths with Chen Chu, also wore similar expressions. They had long grown numb to the shock. After all, Chen Chu had already stunned the entire human race when he faced several demon gods directly and escaped unharmed.
Just then, the greetings in the sky came to an end. Space shattered, and all of the king-level powerhouses from both races, including Chen Chu, vanished without a trace. At the same time, those below received a notification.
The high-level cultivators from both sides would be holding a strategic summit, while the rest were tasked with acting as hosts to receive their Heavenly Feathered allies, who had come from afar.
In the pitch-black void, one formidable figure after another sat on enormous thrones. The seating arrangement was divided into three levels according to strength.
On towering stone thrones, each tens of thousands of meters tall, Chen Chu manifested his three-faced, eight-armed, three-thousand-meter-tall True Demon God Form, seated beside Heavenly King Zhenwu, who had revealed his ten-thousand-meter true form, and the Primordial King.
Opposite them sat the three divine kings of the Heavenly Feathered Race. Each radiated dazzling divine light, their true forms exuding sacred and immense power.
Behind each group stood rows of thrones, each one either three thousand or one thousand meters high. Divine law radiance surrounded the area, making the entire space tremble continuously.
Amid this solemn atmosphere, the Primordial King said in a deep voice, "All of you should be familiar with the two Purgatory Empires our race faces."
Across from him, the Golden-Winged Divine King nodded slightly. "Yes. Heavenly King Zhenwu explained everything to us in detail."
The Primordial King continued. "The Dark Demonic Morkaya Empire and the Greeta Battle Demon Empire each have two demon gods stationed in their territory. The rulers of both empires are roughly at the middle stage of the demon god level. In particular, the ruler of the Morkaya Empire, Deorus, not only controls an abyssal principle, but also possesses a bloodline divine ability related to time. If it ignores the cost, it can summon a past or future version of its own true form to descend. On top of that, it wields a high-tier pseudo-world-level weapon, which greatly enhances its combat power. The other emperor, Belitir, is also stronger than most of its peers in the same realm, with a battle strength close to the late stage of the demon god level.
"In addition, the Greeta Empire has one pinnacle great demon king whose power rivals that of a beginning-stage demon god. It cannot be underestimated. In the past, due to our lack of high-end combat strength, especially in the number of king-level and heavenly-king-level powerhouses, they have always suppressed the Human Federation. Now, however, with your arrival, and with Chen Chu having grown to a level rivaling the supreme, our race finally sees a chance to confront and defeat both empires head-on. Even before your arrival, we had already begun a full mobilization. All of our foundations are being activated. We are determined to heavily wound or even annihilate the two empires in one decisive battle.
"To ensure success, we have also reached out to another ally, the Alliance of Gods. They will be sending reinforcements as well. However, they will need more time to prepare and are expected to arrive in about five days, or five star-hours. To prevent the news of your arrival from being discovered by spies the Purgatory Empire may have planted among us, we ask that you remain here in seclusion for the next five days. Additionally, the welcome ceremony originally prepared for you will have to be postponed until after the battle. We ask for your understanding."
