Chapter 454: Picking the Fruit
Without prior consultation, nor knowing what the other side wanted to do.
Without ever meeting, Pandora and the two great Ocean God Systems coincidently began to work together on the same matter.
In the boundless Sea of Origin, the authority of Material Destruction intertwined with Poseidon's original divine authority, the sea adding to the momentum.
Centered on the legacy the Sea Emperor left in this world, their combined force created an effect where one plus one was greater than two.
Far beneath the Western Sea, even Pandora herself was a bit confused.
"Is my power... really this strong?"
A trace of bewilderment flashed in her eyes, but she quickly reverted back to her usual coldness.
Pandora merely followed the previous instructions of Gaia, continuing to stir up disasters across the Four Seas.
In the unseen realms, the divine authority left by the Sea Emperor faintly resonated with her.
However, she was no longer the person she used to be. So many years had passed, and Pandora had learned much forbidden knowledge that belonged solely to the deities.
Divine authority cannot be stripped away, nor could it be seized by someone like her, who gained power through accommodating a deity's 'corpse.'
The ancient Meteorology Titan had left the mortal world many years ago, yet no other deity dared to claim dominion over Meteorology to this day.
So whatever she did, it was an unchangeable fact... but it didn't matter anymore.
Expressionless, Pandora continued to pluck the strings named destruction.
Whatever it was, if someone told her to do it, she would do it.
Since a long time ago, since she brought destruction to Bronze Humanity, that's how she had always operated.
...
From the surface of the sea to the sky, and from the sky back to the seabed.
The sun rose six times into the sky and fell six times.
No deities intervened in their battle, with Heracles and Ladon's only opponents being each other.
Scalding dragon blood splattered across the sea, the roars of the giant dragon shaking the clouds.
The hundred-headed dragon lived up to its fearsome reputation; it once wounded the Great Hero where the lion skin didn't cover.
But when the dawn rose again from the eastern earth, Ladon had finally exhausted all its strength.
Its massive corpse fell on the sea surface, ninety-nine lumps writhing on its neck.
Ladon tried to regenerate its flesh, with its powerful vitality converging on the severed wound.
They hadn't consulted each other beforehand, nor were they aware of each other's ultimate goals.
Even without meeting in person, Pandora and the two great Ocean God Systems coincidentally began to work on the same matter.

Ladon tried to regenerate its flesh, with its powerful vitality converging on the severed wound.
But the Great Hero had anticipated this, using the venom from the Hydra's Poison Teeth to halt the demon's life force.
Ladon tried to rally, calling forth Typhon's fire that could incinerate the sky.
However, the Great Hero also noticed its movement and blew the bone flute made from the Siren's throat, causing the demon's spirit to scatter.
With no other options, Ladon tried to dive into the sea, to hide and fight again when the poison cleared.
But its form was unhidden in the eyes of the Caucasus Divine Eagle, leaving it no escape from the Great Hero's assault.
Finally, it sought to compete in endurance with its human opponent, but after absorbing the legacy of the Sphinx's domain, the Great Hero could fight tirelessly for three years.
When all its methods failed, Ladon's defeat was destined.
If it had faced a novice Heracles, it might have won.
