If Hydra had known it would be this easy, they would have sent someone to sneak into the house and steal the Iron Monger's head from the corner long ago.

Instead, they waited until now, bringing Crossbones and the Winter Soldier, along with a small army, to ambush the clown, only to discover that the Iron Monger's head had been quietly sitting in the corner of the room all along.

As Crossbones picked up the head, planning to leave with it, a sudden barrage of deafening gunfire erupted from downstairs, followed by intense combat noises.

"Hmm?"

Hearing the commotion below, Crossbones frowned and tightened his grip on the Iron Monger's head.

The distinct sound of the gunfire was unmistakable—it was the roar of an M500 revolver.

"That clown must be back," Crossbones muttered.

As Hydra's ace infiltrator within S.H.I.E.L.D., Crossbones had sharp instincts. Even from two floors away, he immediately recognized the unique sound of the weapon.

"Heh, M500?" Crossbones smirked dismissively.

Sure, the M500 packed a punch, but its limited five-round capacity made it impractical for a seasoned operative.

"Why bother trading magazine capacity for such a small number of rounds?" he mused, shaking his head.

Turning to the Winter Soldier, whose cold eyes betrayed no emotion behind his half-covered face, Crossbones ordered, "I'll take the head back. You go kill the clown."

The Winter Soldier nodded silently. Armed to the teeth, he headed toward the source of the gunfire on the third floor, while Crossbones, accompanied by two agents, made his way to the rooftop.

His priority was the Iron Monger's head. Engaging the clown wasn't worth risking damage to the valuable trophy.

Just as Crossbones was about to leave, a powerful bullet struck the staircase ahead of him with a thunderous bang, blowing a massive crater into the cement steps.

The scattered debris stung his face, bringing a sharp pain.

"I haven't even properly greeted you, and you're already leaving?"

A voice echoed from below, laced with mocking amusement.

Crossbones froze. The shot wasn't a miss—it was a warning.

He knew that if the clown had truly intended to shoot him, the bullet wouldn't have landed on the staircase.

But what truly enraged him was the near miss of the Iron Monger's head. The destructive force of the M500's rounds could easily obliterate its delicate components, creating significant challenges for Hydra's engineers to repair it.

Furious, he turned to the Winter Soldier. "Kill him!"

"Understood," the Winter Soldier replied, raising his shotgun and firing two rounds toward the lower floor.

The shotgun's widespread pellets forced Eren to momentarily dodge out of their path.

"Troublesome," Eren muttered, taking cover behind a nearby obstacle.

With a flick of his fingers, the Threads of Malice, infused with his spiritual energy, shot out like venomous serpents and wrapped tightly around the Winter Soldier.

"Come over here!"

Yanking hard, Eren pulled the Winter Soldier off his feet, sending him tumbling down the stairs.

Even as he fell, the Winter Soldier remained composed. Mid-tumble, he pulled the pin on a grenade and hurled it toward the direction of the pull.

"Back to you!"

Before the grenade could land, the Threads of Malice swiftly wove a small net around it. With a forceful flick, Eren sent the grenade back toward the fourth floor.

Boom!

The explosion tore through the building, leaving a gaping hole in the fourth floor and reducing Crossbones and his team to a dusty mess.

Seizing the opportunity, Eren dashed forward with a unique, agile stride, closing the distance to the Winter Soldier in an instant.

The Winter Soldier, just recovering from his fall, raised his mechanical arm and swung a powerful punch at Eren.

The arm, a high-tech Hydra creation, significantly enhanced the Winter Soldier's strength and could also act as a compact shield against incoming attacks.

Yet, Eren had no intention of meeting the blow head-on. With a swift sidestep, he dodged the punch effortlessly, locking eyes with the Winter Soldier.

Dread Gaze.

The mental assault struck like a bolt of lightning, exploding within the Winter Soldier's mind.

Even his brainwashed, Zola-controlled mind couldn't withstand the devastating impact.

Cracks began to form in the mental walls Hydra had erected.

"You're still standing?" Eren muttered in mild surprise as the Winter Soldier staggered, trying to rise.

"If one isn't enough, let's try two."

Eren unleashed a second Dread Gaze, tearing open a massive chasm in the Winter Soldier's psyche.

The soldier's once-steely eyes grew vacant and disoriented.

"Now's the time to end this."

Summoning his spiritual energy, Eren prepared to deliver a decisive blow to the Winter Soldier's mind.
