Chapter 50: Teaching The Mutt a Lesson on The Owner’s Behalf
On the same night, three hooded figures moved silently along the perimeter of the Huang manor. Their robes obscured their identities, and two of them wore peculiar glasses-like artifacts that glimmered faintly under the moonlight.
Two of the figures carried two large bags each, stuffed to the brim.
"Brother Feng, are you absolutely sure about this? If we get caught, we'll be in serious trouble," whispered Tan Wei, his voice filled with apprehension.
Under his hood, Feng Fan smirked. "Don't worry. Sometimes, you have to take risks to reap the rewards. No risk, no gain, right?"
Before Tan Wei or Bai Tao could protest further, Feng Fan took action.
Activating his spiritual qi vision, he scanned the protective array encircling the Huang manor.
'This array is far inferior to the White Crow Sect's protective barrier. There are plenty of flaws to exploit, and it seems to function mainly as an alarm system.'
Without hesitation, Feng Fan concentrated qi at his fingertip. With precision, he made subtle modifications to the array, just enough to create a gap for him to slip through without triggering the alarm.
"Alright, I'm heading in. You both know the plan," Feng Fan said in a low voice.
Tan Wei and Bai Tao exchanged determined glances before nodding. They activated their glasses-like artifacts, their lenses glowing faintly as they prepared for their roles in the daring scheme.
Feng Fan slipped into the Huang manor, his movements swift and composed.
As he darted around the grounds, he left behind overlapping arrays in strategic locations.
Each array served a specific purpose: one gathered water, another generated heat, and the third cooled the vapor.
In less than half an hour, his work was complete. He inspected his handiwork with satisfaction before turning his attention to the main gate. Carefully, he scanned the area for any additional protective arrays that might complicate his plan.
Satisfied that everything was in place, Feng Fan raised his hand, channeling qi to his fingers. With a sharp gesture, he activated all the arrays simultaneously.
In less than half a minute, water vapor filled the entire manor. The cooling array quickly condensed the vapor into fine water particles, creating a dense, impenetrable fog that blanketed everything.
The fog seeped into the main mansion, enveloping almost every room in a thick, ghostly mist.
Seeing his plan unfold perfectly, Feng Fan dashed through the main gate. With his spiritual qi vision activated, he easily navigated the fog, spotting obstacles and paths clearly.
He searched for the area with the densest concentration of spiritual qi and quickly located it near the center of the mansion.
"Got it!" he muttered under his hood, a smirk forming on his face.
Swiftly, he maneuvered through the mansion's corridors, carefully avoiding any powerful auras he sensed. To him, those auras were clear indicators of strong cultivators, and he had no intention of crossing paths with them.
Feng Fan soon stood before a sturdy metal door. Each corner was guarded by an alarm array, and instead of a traditional keyhole, an intricate locking array was in place.
He quickly disabled the alarm arrays with precise movements before turning his attention to the lock array.
'This one's a bit tricky, but nothing I can't handle,' he thought confidently.
While Feng Fan meticulously analyzed the lock array, Tan Wei and Bai Tao were already enacting their part of the plan: causing chaos.
Following the same path Feng Fan had taken, they scattered firecrackers throughout the manor and ignited them.
Boom! Boom!
The explosions echoed loudly, jolting the occupants awake. However, the dense fog inside the manor left everyone disoriented.
Some of the more powerful cultivators attempted to dispel the fog with spells, but the mist was so thick that even when pushed back, it quickly enveloped them again. At best, they could see only one or two meters ahead, and even that was a struggle.
Thud!
"Ah, sorry!"
"W-What's going on?!"
The confusion only worsened as people stumbled or collided in the dense fog. Chaos spread like wildfire across the manor.
"Quick! Call the elders! Someone's attacking the manor!" someone shouted in panic.
"Who dares to attack my Huang family manor?! I'll destroy their entire clan!"
The elders sprang into action, their voices booming with authority, but even they struggled to grasp the situation. The dense fog obscured their vision, and the deafening sound of explosions left them disoriented.
Following the noise, they rushed out of the mansion, attempting to locate the source of the chaos.
Unfortunately for them, this was exactly what Feng Fan had anticipated. With their focus diverted and their vision impaired, Feng Fan had the perfect opportunity to raid their resources. Continue reading at empire
Hearing the elders approaching, Tan Wei and Bai Tao realized their task was complete. Without hesitation, they retreated through the same path they had used to infiltrate the manor.
"I hope Feng Fan knows what he's doing. This madman is playing with fire! If he's caught, his life will be over," Bai Tao muttered as they raced toward the agreed-upon meeting point.
"Don't worry. He should know what he's doing…" Tan Wei replied, though doubt lingered in his mind.
Deep down, Tan Wei questioned the insanity of this plan. Only a lunatic would dare infiltrate the heavily guarded Huang manor with just three Qi Gathering realm cultivators.
Still, there was one reason he clung to a shred of hope: the words of Lai Hu, a powerful immortal trapped within his pendant.
'This Feng Fan is not simple,' Lai Hu had said.
As Tan Wei and Bai Tao successfully made their escape, Feng Fan finally completed his work on the lock array.
"Success!" he muttered under his breath, a triumphant smirk forming on his face.
He carefully pushed the heavy metal door open. The dense fog quickly seeped into the chamber, obscuring his view of its contents. However, the overwhelming density of spiritual qi within the room confirmed his suspicions: it was filled with spiritual qi stones and heavenly treasures.
Without hesitation, Feng Fan activated his space ring, swiftly storing everything he could find. His heart raced with excitement as his plan unfolded perfectly.
But just as he turned to make his escape, he felt a familiar aura approaching.
'Huang Chao… Wen Xue's loyal dog.' Feng Fan's eyes narrowed as his lips curled into a sly grin.
'Since I'm already here, I might as well teach this mutt a lesson on behalf of his owner,' he thought, quickly altering his route.
Instead of heading toward the mansion's side door, he veered toward a nearby room.
Feng Fan spotted Huang Chao struggling to get up after tripping over something.
'What perfect timing!'
A mischievous grin spread across Feng Fan's face as he swiftly moved behind Huang Chao.
Clasping his hands together, he extended his index and middle fingers, keeping them tightly pressed as he aimed at Huang Chao's exposed back.
Snake Entering the Cave!
Without a moment's hesitation, Feng Fan struck. His attack pierced through the fabric of Huang Chao's pants with ruthless precision.
"ARRRGHHHH!"
A blood-curdling scream erupted from Huang Chao as the unexpected pain shot through him. Startled, he lurched forward uncontrollably, slamming headfirst into the wall with a loud thud.
'Mission accomplished. Time to disappear!'
Without wasting a second, Feng Fan scanned the room and felt an air current coming from an open window. He darted toward it, leaping through with agility and disappearing into the night.
