Chapter 353: Last Piece

As Feng Fan drew closer to the source of the tainted spiritual qi, a sudden vibration echoed from within his space ring. Little Brick, resting inside, trembled violently, emitting such a potent surge of spiritual qi that it nearly shattered the spatial constraints of the ring.

'What is it, Little Brick?' Feng Fan's eyes widened in surprise. This was the first time the relic had ever reacted so fiercely since they had bonded. But it didn't take him long to understand—Little Break had sensed something. Something important.

'The third black plate!' Feng Fan realized, excitement sparking in his chest. Each previous piece had drastically enhanced Little Brick's power. There was no doubt in his mind, the final plate would bring a transformative leap in strength.

To his astonishment, Little Brick confirmed it. The last black plate was located in the same direction he was already heading.

'Could it be... the cultists have it?' Feng Fan's expression shifted into a grin. 'If that's the case, I've just gained another excellent reason to wipe them from this planet.'

Unbeknownst to Feng Fan, Huang Xue, flying silently behind him, felt a strange sensation stir within her. From the same direction they were heading, a faint voice echoed through her mind, no louder than a whisper. It called her name.

On a plain devoided of living lifeforms and adorned with dead trees, the cult leader of the Soulsucker Cult stood alongside three other ominous figures. The first was entirely cloaked in black garments, his form obscured from head to toe. Only his eyes were visible—cold, bottomless orbs that seemed to pull at one's consciousness inside.

Beside him stood a pale-faced man with sharp, angular features and a long, narrow nose that gave him an air of twisted nobility. His lips were unusually red, contrasting with his corpse-like complexion.

The last was a gaunt figure with sly, calculating eyes that flickered with malice. A faint greenish tint clung to his skin, and the stench of poison and decay radiated from his body, as if his very breath carried venom. Death clung to him like a second skin.

"The Intergalactic Council managed to suppress Master's spiritual qi. They've gathered their forces and are heading this way," said Tan Changpu, the cult leader of the Soulsucker Cult. Despite the grave news, his voice remained calm, devoid of concern.

A soft, chilling laugh escaped the lips of the pale-faced man. "The sacrifices are complete, and my master has sent his fang to us. The Bloodsucker Sect is more than ready. Let them come; we'll turn them all into blood offerings."

The gaunt man narrowed his eyes. "Yao Ping, don't declare victory so soon. The artifact that destroys all sub-immortal arrays is the key. As long as we hold it, our dominance remains unchallenged."

He then turned to the black-cloaked figure. "Fang Jiayi, what's the status on your end? Has the Nightmare Demon Venerable sent you the orb?"

Fang Jiayi gave a slow nod. "Everything proceeds according to plan, Cai Gen. Though it's unexpected that they found a way to neutralize the Soulsucker Demon Venerable's spiritual qi, it won't change the outcome."

"Good, good…" A grotesque smile stretched across Yao Ping's lips, his sharp fangs gleaming beneath the pale moonlight. "Tonight, let us drink our enemies' blood to our heart's content."

Standing beside Xue Feng, Feng Fan calmly observed the desolate land. "Are the cultists hiding here?"

Xue Feng nodded. "This is their strongest stronghold on Green. They've concealed themselves underground using illusion formations. We've tried to root them out several times, but we've failed every time."

Feng Fan activated his spiritual qi vision and scanned the area. Just as Xue Feng had said, countless illusion arrays were intricately woven together with trap formations. The sheer number of arrays distorted his spiritual qi vision, preventing him from pinpointing the cultists' exact location.

Even so, he could easily locate the source of the tainted spiritual qi. The spiritual qi sustaining the formations was like a bright light shining in the vast darkness of the cosmos. The tainted qi, however, radiated a corrupt energy that seemed to devour that light. Although the cultists' spiritual signatures were hidden, it was simple to trace them by following the source of the corruption.

"We'll need to dismantle their arrays slowly. Even for me, it might take a few hours," Feng Fan said. "Send your best Array Masters to surround their camp, along with Transcending Tribulation cultivators to guard them. We must destroy as many formations as possible before the cultists react."

Xue Feng nodded and flew back to relay the orders. Meanwhile, Feng Fan retrieved the Suppression Relic from his space ring, giving it a glance as he spoke through their spiritual connection. 'Little Brick, your priority is to retrieve the third plate. Ignore everything else.'

Little Brick responded with a low hum, vibrating with excitement as it flew from Feng Fan's hand like it was reuniting with a long-lost lover.

Feng Fan didn't bother waiting for the Array Masters to arrive; he moved alone. As long as the protective formations surrounding his body were active, there was little to fear. No Transcending Tribulation cultivator could pose a threat to him.

As for the tainted spiritual qi, it was no concern. Not only did his cultivation technique suppress any external control over his body, but the Suppression Relic could absorb the corrupted qi, whether lingering in the atmosphere or circulating within him, as long as it wasn't anchored to a host.

And now, with the black dagger in hand, even that risk was greatly reduced. His only concern was whether he could cleanse the corrupted qi quickly enough.

But as Feng Fan worked on dismantling the illusion arrays, his senses suddenly screamed danger—a cultivator's sixth sense, honed and sharpened with each step on the path of cultivation.

Just as he prepared to retreat, a dark green gaseous substance shot past him. It hissed and sizzled when it made contact with the defensive arrays surrounding his body, trying to seep through without success.

Feng Fan's pupils shrank. "What in the seven heavens is that?"
