Chapter 2: Galen trouble

In one of the many planets of the Milky Way galaxy, an immense battle is currently ongoing, spreading mist shadows of the forest that swirl and sway ominously, covering a great expanse of this planet.

Three mid-aged adults are battling against a being taller than the average human, with a slim and angular build, clad in iridescent armor that seems to shift and blend with the shadows. Its eyes glow violet, piercing through the darkness, and intricate markings shimmer with otherworldly energy.

These three mid-aged adults are none other than Galen, Minny, and Peter facing off against the alien godslayer, Zerathix's.

Galen unleashes the Shadow Forest, shrouding the battlefield in a dance of shadows, while Minny harnesses and channels Qi to boost her natural attributes of speed and strength.

Arriving beside Zerathix's, whom for some reason Galen's Shadow couldn't get close to, Minny throws a fist aimed at his head.

Peter doesn't lag behind, blasting Black Lightning crackling with destructive power and chaotic energy at him, too.

Zerathix kicks off to a distance the minute Minny appears before him, evading her fist. The shadow at the point where he landed scatters away, leaving a clear circumference just like the one he was in before Minny's attack. As for Peter's lightning, it seems to hit an invisible barrier at the same edge where Galen's Shadow stops.

"I hate this annoying Shadow Banishment skill of his," Peter curses as he dashes forward with lightning speed, his feet coated in black lightning.

"You don't say," Galen pops out of one of the shadow orbs scattered around the battlefield as all three of them take a battle formation stance.

"Its racial phasing ability makes things worse. The gods layer ability alone wouldn't give much of an issue, but adding that innate ability..." Galen's words trail off.

"He would become a headache," Minny completes Galen's sentence with a frown on her face.

They have been going on and on with this troublesome alien for a while now. Both Galen and Peter's abilities are useless against him due to his gods layer ability. On the other hand, Minny's Qi mastery is a perfect tool to use against him, but his phasing racial ability makes that useless. If not for intertwining their abilities with Qi, they wouldn't even stand a chance up until now.

Suddenly, Zerathix phases through dimensions, reappearing behind Peter with a swift strike that disrupts the flow of Peter's black lightning and Galen's Shadow.

Minny, who seems to have been expecting this, makes her move. Ever since she lost her shadow ability, she refused to learn a new one. Instead, she and Chris made it their life's job to improve Qi mastery. Right now, aside from herself and the old monster Chris, there are none as powerful as them in Qi cultivation. They have broken past the initial limits of Qi, creating miracles upon miracle discoveries with it.

She constructs a blade made of Qi and slashes as fast as she could at Zerathix before he could fully phase away, thanks to her enhancement of Qi. She lands a hit, but it isn't enough to damage him considerably. She doesn't bother about that as her Qi sense has pinpointed the next spot he would be popping out from.

She makes a weird maneuver, throwing a crescent kick at thin air. Arcs of crescent Qi energy fly off her feet like wind blades, slicing through the air.

Right on point, Zerathix pops out at that point. He seems prepared for this move as his armor glows, the shifting shadow moves to the trajectory of the attack, withstanding its brute force as it seems to devour the attack that vanishes into thin air the moment they collide.

"Give up already, Earthlings. Can't you already tell I'm way beyond what you can handle? I'm certain even your great protector wouldn't have been able to do anything to me if he were here. I don't know much about the other monster that was said to be on the same level as him, but judging from your current helplessness, I believe he would be of no threat too. It's a shame I couldn't meet them personally; they must have been showing off because they were able to take down a few weaklings."

Minny's head seems to have been kicked by an ass; she loses it at the moment she hears Quinn and Sil being bad-mouthed by this two-time loser.

"No one speaks ill of my dad." Just when she wanted to charge out and teach this guy a lesson, she finds she couldn't move. Staring at her feet, she sees Galen's Shadow has merged with hers, restricting her from moving.

"Calm down, Minny; he is just trying to break the formation. He wants to deal with you alone first since you are the most threat to him at the moment. I've noticed he can't use both his abilities simultaneously. If he uses his godslayer ability to hold me and Uncle Peter off, he would be vulnerable to you, vice versa. So, he wants to get us agitated.

"He is right," a voice fades in from behind the group as Jack's figure appears behind them.

"Took you long," Peter says, a bit unhappy. For his aged body, he wouldn't want to be here, but this guy has been causing too many troubles ever since he showed up.

"Sorry about that. It took Emily a while to go through it and find a suitable one to deal with this guy."

"It doesn't matter now. Let's just get this over with already," Minny's pissed-off tone cuts in from the side.

"Sure, space lock." At Jack's word, a space dorm cocoon spreads out from his figure, covering the entire battlefield. For the first time ever, Zerathix has a conflicted expression. He needs not to be told; his phasing racial ability has been nullified by that ability used just now, which leaves him with just his godslayer ability. If everyone is like Peter and Galen, he wouldn't bother, as he could overpower them. Those two, one with the ability to use different power and the other with that weird energy ability, it's going to be a tough one.

All he can rely on now is holding those two off by nullifying their abilities, thereby cutting in half their overall combat power while he thinks of a way to deal with these two.

His violet pupils focus on Minny and Jack. Round two of the battle kicks off immediately, turning the battlefield into a dazzling display of light and energy. The combined forces of Minny's Qi Mastery and Jack's lightning ability converge in a harmonious symphony of power.

Through their unified efforts and the spacial lock intervention of Jack, the battle is won easily. Once he has been beaten down, Jack wears the restrictions collar created by the Green cooperation, a tech that negates one's ability once activated. Leaving the target with an overall strength of a weak human, no matter what race or being it's been used on.

Once the collar has been activated on him, Minny takes an extra time lecturing him on manners as his painful cry fills the air.

"It's quiet enough now, Minny. He still needs to be sent to Zero; we can't send a dead prisoner there, can we?" Peter decides to step in, since none of the others dares to tell Minny it's enough.

"Oh, yeah, sorry. I was a bit carried away," she stands up from him. But as if to ice the cake, she still delivers him one last powerful kick with Qi.

Jack doesn't want to delay further before he gets to take back a corpse. Secondly, he wants to be away from these monsters as fast as he could. He was once called the human Strongest hero, but when these two showed up later, the title of the strongest human was relinquished to Galen presently due to how monstrous this guy is with his shadow ability that has surpassed anything the shadow has done before it. Minny is pretty strong in her own way, too. It made him wonder if monstrosity runs in the family bloodline. He didn't want to imagine Sophia's strength.

That daughter of Galen is more terrifying for her age. Luckily, he had a niece who is pretty strong like her, too. He didn't know if he should laugh or cry, as those two, Sophia and Emily, seem to look more like Quinn and Sil's reincarnation.

Picking up Zerathix, he teleports away, leaving the other three to their own devices. He isn't bothered about how they would return. With Galen there, it's a piece of cake. He just needs to go back and place this guy in Earth's strongest prison hold, Zero.

With every set, Minny adjusts her demeanor back to her usual self as she turns to the other two. "We are going to be late for the gathering. Let's get going already."

Both men look at her as if she wasn't the one holding up all this while beating up a prisoner.

Galen doesn't bother with her, he just spreads his Shadow underneath their feet, and their figure submerges into it and is gone out of sight the next minute.
