Chapter 386: Wife, Surrender! (2/3)
The drills use blank cartridges.
To better demonstrate the effect, the blank cartridges are filled with red dye, making hits more visible, much like outdoor live-action CS games.
As the two moved rapidly while shooting, bursts of red smoke erupted between them.
Seeing this, Ye Xin's pupils suddenly contracted, and she quickly hid behind a tree, her chest heaving in disbelief.
She quietly glanced at the route she came from and the area between them.
There was not a trace of red dye where she had traversed, while in the middle, the red smoke had yet to dissipate.
This meant that all the shots she fired had been intercepted by Yang Chen's bullets and exploded in midair!
This... is absolutely impossible!
Ye Xin found it hard to believe.
Even though these were blank cartridges with no power, it was impossible for dozens of bullets to be intercepted! The odds are just too small!
At such speeds, it's incredibly difficult to see the opponent's shooting trajectory before firing back.
By the time you identify the shooting trajectory, the bullets are already coming at you, leaving no time to raise your gun and shoot theirs out of the air.
For this to happen, Yang Chen must have predicted her movement and shooting trajectory before she even fired.
This is not impossible; people have proposed such theories before. Once someone fully understands another's movement trajectory, they can predict the next step the other will take, and even act before them! This is preemption!
But Ye Xin's speed is exceptional, impossible for anyone to predict!
Yet, Yang Chen proved he could!
At this moment, Ye Xin felt deeply shocked!
At the same time, Ye Xin realized Yang Chen's abilities were likely much stronger than hers!
Yang Chen looked in the direction where Ye Xin was hiding and chuckled, "Honey, come home with me, don't be stubborn!"
Hearing this, Ye Xin felt a surge of irritation.
When has she ever lost? Could it be that she must admit defeat just like this?
She's a woman at the pinnacle of Flame Country; even if defeated, she cannot surrender!
Even though this is just a drill, she must give it her all!
Ye Xin snorted coldly and said to Yang Chen, "Are you sure you can beat me?"
"Sorry, I won't let you win!" Yang Chen said sternly.
"I don't need you to let me win!" Ye Xin snapped, suddenly leaping forward, grabbing the tree in front of her, pushed off with her legs, and shot several meters away, shooting rapidly in mid-air.
Yang Chen squinted with hawklike eyes, suddenly darting away to evade Ye Xin's shots while countering.
The two shot at high speed. Ye Xin leaped onto another tree, climbing nimbly like a monkey, and then propelled herself to another tree after a few swift steps.
The two went back and forth, quickly depleting their ammunition.
Ye Xin leaped down from the tree, dropped her gun, and stared intently at Yang Chen.
Yang Chen also dropped his gun, ready to engage Ye Xin in hand-to-hand combat.
Ye Xin walked toward Yang Chen, warming up her limbs, and said, "I've been the national martial arts champion for five consecutive years; you still have time to surrender!"
Yang Chen shook his head slightly, laughing, "How about I use just one hand?"
Hearing this, Ye Xin glared instantly, slightly angry, "You'll regret this!"
Yang Chen shrugged, holding one hand behind his back, signaling Ye Xin to come forward.
Ye Xin snorted coldly, charging directly at Yang Chen, and at the moment she neared him, delivered a swift elbow strike at Yang Chen.
The blow was powerful, enough to render an ordinary person either dead or incapacitated if it landed.
Yang Chen slightly turned to dodge, grazing under Ye Xin's chin!
"You!" Ye Xin was furious. Yang Chen dared to tease her during the fight, something absolutely intolerable!
Ye Xin immediately spun around, swinging her arm at Yang Chen.
Yang Chen smiled slightly, stretched out his arm, and caught Ye Xin's inner elbow, trapping her in front of him.
Ye Xin's reflexes were equally fast, spinning one of her long legs, hooking it around Yang Chen's neck, and clamping him down to the ground.
Yang Chen's eyes widened as Ye Xin pinned him down, sitting directly on his face, and said with a cold smile, "See, I told you, I'm the martial arts champion, you can't beat me!"
Yang Chen's eyes gleamed with amusement.
Ye Xin had only entangled his head and hadn't restrained his arms and legs, so Yang Chen hadn't lost combat capability.
Quickly, Yang Chen flipped out from Ye Xin's legs, pinned Ye Xin to the ground, immobilizing her limbs, and whispered in her ear, "Honey, concede, you can't win against me!"
Pinned beneath Yang Chen, Ye Xin felt a mixture of shame and anger.
Being face-down under Yang Chen, Ye Xin could only turn her head to speak to him.
"You'll regret this!" Ye Xin said through gritted teeth.
Gazing at Ye Xin's angry yet lovely face, Yang Chen couldn't help but find another kind of charm in it.
Yang Chen said, "I might regret it, but you must understand, the battlefield is just that—a battlefield. There's only winning and losing, no room for affection! To lose is to pay the price of life; to win, there's also a price. So, I must defeat you, even if it makes you unhappy or angry, I have to do it!"
Ye Xin paused for a moment, softly asked, "Then... what if we actually met on a battlefield, would you still do this?"
Yang Chen frowned slightly, and responded in a deep voice, "The likelihood is practically zero, but if such a thing were to happen, I'd advise you to escape quickly, otherwise, you'll become my captive..."
Saying this, Yang Chen leaned in closer to Ye Xin's ear and whispered, "I'm not soft-hearted with captives, just like now..."
With that, Yang Chen bit Ye Xin's ear.
"Do you know now how I treat captives? Scared?" Yang Chen teased.
"Scared! Scared! Scared!" Ye Xin repeatedly begged for mercy, "I surrender! I surrender, quickly tap my sensor on the head, and I'll voluntarily opt-out!"
Yang Chen smiled slightly, reaching out to press the sensor on top of Ye Xin's head.
