Chapter 263:
A red mist seeped from the bald monk's body, curling like smoke before drifting toward Mirabella.
She hovered in the air, barely conscious, unable to resist. The mist slipped effortlessly into her body.
The monk, now seated cross-legged on the same mattress Mirabella had once occupied, pressed his palms together and began to chant in a low, rhythmic hum.
A golden light bloomed around him, first wrapping his body in radiance, then expanding to envelop the entire space.
Suddenly, a thunderous crash echoed from outside.
"Mirabella, Mirabella… I didn't expect to find you hiding here."
Stone and dust exploded into the air, scattered by the sheer force of the impact.
From the settling cloud stepped a hulking man, his long golden hair swaying with each movement. His entire body shimmered in a golden metallic sheen, from the sockets of his eyes down to his bare feet.
Zarek figured he should probably check his pp too, but he had little doubt, it was likely gold as well.
A smirk played on his lips as he gazed at the strange Buddhist temple before him. Everything about it was off, grotesque demon heads framed the entrance, while massive Buddha heads stared down from each corner of the roof.
"What the hell even is this place…" he muttered, his brow furrowing at the eeriness.
Still, curiosity pushed him forward.
But just as he took his next step, he froze.
A blue panel blinked into existence before his eyes, floating midair.
[You have surpassed your limits and entered the Second Stage of the Martial Realm.]
[Title Gained: <Martial Intermediate>]
[Beep... Beep... Lower-tier title detected: <Martial Apprentice>. Title <Martial Intermediate> has absorbed <Martial Apprentice>.]
[Evolution in progress... 3... 2... 1...]
[Advancement Successful!]
[New Title Acquired: <Martial Advanced>]
…
<Martial Advanced>:
Grants you impeccable knowledge and wisdom of combat. Any weapon you touch, you become a master in it instantly. Also grants near-perfect control of the body so that the user uses 99% of the power in the body.
…
"Ho?" Zarek was completely intrigued when he saw these.
"These titles, when Gang Reyong advanced to Second-stage Martial Realm, even he didn't get them. But now Chun Ma, who has advanced to Second-stage, got it?"
It was certainly interesting to see how the system worked. Gang Reyong made it by relying on an exclusive skill called the <Reaper's Psyche>, but he didn't get the <Martial Apprentice> title or any further title from it.
But Chun Ma, who went the most ethical way, was able to get <Martial Apprentice> when he reached Third-stage Martial Realm, and <Martial Intermediate> when he reached the Second-stage Martial Realm.
He had to say that these systems could really detect if someone worked for it or not. However, there were some exceptions to it as well, and that exception was exactly his cheat, the SSS-rank talent Cloning, which could directly break the constraints of these systems.
"These titles might be valuable for him while I am fighting here." Zarek couldn't help but think of these as he was just a step away from entering the temple.
But he took back his right leg that was about to enter it.
"Hmm?"
His brows furrowed. Zarek was sure about it, he could definitely feel the presence of Mirabella inside the temple, but in front of him was nothing but complete darkness, which made him completely confused:
Just what is going on!?
There were not many things that could hide from his eyes, and to make him completely blind here, Zarek was sure that this was no ordinary darkness.
Zarek quickly backtracked and went twenty meters away from the temple, raising his neck to see the place.
Then, with casual grace, he pointed his palm forward while closing his eyes simultaneously.
The telekinetic energy inside him surged and flickered outward.
Rumble!
The entire ground started to tremble, the soil upheaved, the stones cracked and were destroyed.
It was, in one word:
Complete Chaos!
The gravity of the entire place was increasing, from two to three to four… bit by bit, it was increasing at a steady pace.
After a second, the rocks around him were already being grounded into the ground.
And in a few more seconds, they were completely crushed into fine powder, turning into soil.
Jagged fissures started to appear around the temple and him.
Even he couldn't help but grunt from the sheer pressure that was weighing on him, the ground beneath him being rapidly destroyed with cracks, like cobwebs, appearing around him.
But in just a few seconds, his condition improved to its pristine state, and even though the ground beneath him was still collapsing, there was no change to his physical state.
Zarek had completely adapted to the tenfold gravity, and he could immediately feel the change in his body, his raw body's endurance was growing.
This was invaluable to Zarek.
Although his physique had greatly improved after absorbing such a massive amount of divine energy, he soon realized that the raw strength it provided was still far beyond what his body could fully handle, especially during an attack.
Sure, he could eventually adapt to it, but that would take time. And this overwhelming force had just drastically shortened that timeline.
Meanwhile, the gravity showed no sign of relenting. It continued to mount, growing even stronger than before.
Within just a few minutes, it had reached twenty times the normal level. With it, everything around him began to collapse, the entire world seemed to be falling into ruin.
The ground had shattered completely, reduced to rubble, and the surrounding forest was obliterated.
And the temple?
Only a faint crack appeared on one of its walls.
But that was it.
Just a single crack, nothing more.
Zarek narrowed his eyes but didn't stop. This was nowhere near the limit of his gravity powers. He let the pressure build further.
After all, he could always adapt to the gravity, it was more like training than strain for him.
What was the greatest benefit Zarek had gained upon becoming a Telekinetic Master?
Even beyond the eternal attribute of Telekinetic Energy, the true reward was his control over gravity.
Upon reaching Master level, his gravity mutation had evolved to an absurd degree. And as evident from the devastation around him, twentyfold gravity, which had already triggered a near-apocalyptic scene, was still far from his limit.
With a deep breath, Zarek closed his eyes, standing perfectly still as his body slowly began to adapt.
Finally, the gravity reached twenty-five fold, and he had reached his limits. No matter how much he tried, he could not increase the gravity any longer.
Zarek pushed himself against the ground from the crater he was in and looked at the weird temple in front of him.
He was immediately disappointed to find that there were barely any cracks on it, but that was about it, there was almost no change to it.
"Sigh."
He couldn't help but be dejected looking at it.
Although there were cracks, that was about it; it was still in its prime condition and showed no signs of destruction, while outside, there were cracks that seemed to extend infinitely downwards with no sign of stopping at all.
"Well," Zarek walked under the twenty-five fold gravity, each step causing the ground around him to crack rapidly.
But there was almost no change in his current body state; he was perfectly fine and pristine despite walking here.
He walked towards the wall and punched hard.
Bang!
The wall made a banging sound, but instead of the wall cracking, his hand was injured.
"What kind of shitty material is this made of?" he couldn't help but curse, then he quickly shook his head with a sneer. "Take my full power."
He raised his fist, creating a terrifying momentum, and then he punched hard, using his full strength!
As his fist struck, at first there was almost no reaction. But within moments, cracks spiderwebbed across the surface, and then, everything crumbled before him.
Zarek peered inside the temple, darkness still shrouded its depths.
But he wasn't foolish enough to blindly step into whatever lay within and walk straight into an enemy's trap.
After all, despite being practically immortal and constantly growing stronger, why risk plunging into a danger he didn't want?
Zarek never underestimated this world. It was an SSS-rank difficulty for a reason.
While he was thinking about it, he went to the other side and casually destroyed all the pillars and walls of the temple except for the entrance, which had the devil head.
But even with three parts of it crumbling, it still surprisingly held strong despite all his efforts.
His brows couldn't help but knit seeing the situation.
"This darkness, it seems, isn't present here. Instead, it feels like…" Zarek's expression became extremely serious, "entirely another realm."
That was the conclusion he came up with as he kept staring at the darkness. Then he walked up to the devil's head; an ominous feeling rose in his heart as he closed the distance…
