My Soul card is a Reaper

Chapter 838: 322nd hidden clan meeting (part-2)

Affea didn't respond to his comment. She knew there was bad blood between her brother and the Blood Clan Patriarch, which ultimately partitioned the clan into two.

She stepped aside and gestured toward the entrance. "Inside."

With a faint grunt, Francis walked past him into the sanctum.

Inside the hall, the great round table, with nine high-backed thrones with numbers imprinted on them, from I to IX, in ancient Roman numbers. Two additional seats were placed outside the table for observing. Lysandra and Qin Wuye can only sit there, feeling humiliated.

Francis looked at all the others. As his eyes fell upon someone who looked more like a brute in the middle of elegantly dressed people, he chuckled. "I didn't expect the boy would grow so much that even Fjor would drag his body all the way to the Death Clan. I wonder how Qridus would feel at that."

Fjor grunted at his comment. He chugged down the wine and slammed on the table. "More…"

As the servant came forward and poured him the wine, Fjor said. "No need to act all condescending, whatever name you are. I know for a fact that you were given this position, not because of your merits, but because the kid wanted to kick you and your men out of his clan. If this lot weren't greedy, you wouldn't even have the qualifications to sit with us."

"That's not greed, Lord Fojr. That's being opportunistic." Fujiwara Shuichi scoffed, swirling the wine in his goblet.

"Yeah, yeah, name whatever you want." Fjor snorted, not intending to argue with him. He chugged down the wine in one go, again, "C'mon, pour."

As the servant stepped forward and continued to pour the wine in an elegant manner, Azzy appeared at the door entrance.

The hall became silent, everyone's attention instantly shifting to the new presence.

There was no smile on his face, Instead, Azzy's face seemed quite serious, and his gaze was as cold as the North Pole.

"Azrael, you are here…" Estella tried to speak up, but Azzy replied to her. "Lady Moon, please sit down. I have an important announcement to make."

"Eh?"

Leaving a stunned, doll-faced clan leader, Azzy walked past her to sit at Seat number IX. He took the seat directly.

As the others looked at him, Azzy spoke. "Before we start the meeting, I would like to inform one thing. The Angels are no longer a part of the hidden clans. They left this realm."

"What do you mean?" Fojr furrowed his brows, staring at him.

Azzy looked back coldly and replied. "Yesterday night, I received a letter from Queen Lefeuvre."

He took out a card and casually threw it into the air, pouring his soul energy. A holographic video screen opened before everyone, depicting the Queen of Triastal and also the representative of the Angels. She seemed quite tired and disappointed at first glance.

"Azrael, no, Lord Garcia, by the time you finish watching this video, my compatriots and I will be long gone from this planet. Our home would have been reduced to dust. So, don't bother trying to find us. But I won't leave you in any mystery. I'll tell you the reason for this change. A few days ago, I received an order from Elysium to abandon Gaia. I don't know the reason, and neither did the messengers bother to inform me. By morning, every last one of the Angelic bloodline on this planet will be evacuated, and I, too, will be gone. I have already signed the instrument of accession to the Republic of Llyne yesterday, but the news will only come out tomorrow."

Taking a pause, she continued. "However, before I leave, I would like to give you one final warning. Please find Saint Ravens and relay this message. I don't know what kind of catastrophe is going to occur, but Gaia is going to be in deep trouble very soon. If you want to save billions, you and the rest of the clan leaders have to do something about it. I wish to send this video card to everyone, but I remember you are going to host the clan meeting. So, after you've watched it, please do play it for others too. Sorry and goodbye."

The throne hall was filled with silence for a while after the message ended.

"Is that authentic?" Estella couldn't help but ask. "These days, the so-called deep fake AI videos were circulating all over the internet. I won't be surprised if the recording message in a video skill card was also edited deeply by someone."

Azzy replied plainly. "I personally visited Triastal last night. I don't know whether they have really left Gaia or not, but I certainly failed to find any pocket dimension on that island, which used to be there, when I went there years ago."

"Well, if Lord Garcia says that it is true, then it must be true." Fujiwara Shuichi commented with a nod.

"Yeah, yeah, bootlicker. I bet you can't wait to become his servant, heh…" Fjor scoffed at him, slamming the goblet on the table once again. "More…"

Just as the servant was about to pour once more, Shuichi flared up. He slammed the table, releasing the aura of a Supreme realm. "Ever since you arrived, you have been nothing but disrespectful to everyone here. I was bearing it because we are in a foreign territory, but Fojr, you dare to cross the line?"

"So, what if I crossed the line? You are going to attack me or something?" Fjor scoffed once again in his brute voice before turning his head and growling at the servant who stiffened in his posture, feeling all sweaty and finding it hard to breathe under the aura release of Shuichi. "I told you to pour me the drink, you trash. Why are you standing there…"

Several glances fell upon Azzy, who shut his eyes for a moment before snapping them open. "Domain: I reject soul energy, I reject attributes, I reject speech above 70 decibels, I reject soul aura eruption, and I reject leaving the seats one initially sat down."

An invisible energy field erupted from Azzy, filling the entire room.

The clan heads felt it instantly.

From Qridus to Fjor, every single one found their soul orbs bound by the law; their soul energy became still in their bodies, a law applied to their throat, as well as their posture. Shuichi, who was initially standing, collapsed onto his throne without being able to do anything.

"You…" Fjor growled but couldn't bring himself to shout at Azzy. Amidst the gazes of others, the latter crossed his legs as he spoke. "If you need respect, then learn how to conduct yourself at other places, Clan Leader Fjor. I don't just mean your little words for Clan Leader Fujiwara. I also meant your disrespectful actions toward my servant. This is the Death Clan. We don't look down on professions."

Fjor's entire face reddened, but he became quiet in the end. The others couldn't help but look at Azzy in a mixture of wonder and amazement. They heard that he is a demigod, but seeing him in person felt entirely different. Only Qridus seemed like he was enjoying the show. Even with restrictions, he had a mysterious smile on his face.

"Now, shall we talk?"
