My Soul card is a Reaper

Chapter 811: A wager

Fiona stared at him, her expression unreadable for a moment. Then the reaction came, clear and sharp. "You're him?" she asked, crossing her arms.

"Yes." Azzy nodded.

After a pause, Fiona looked away, her jaw tightening as she spoke. "You know, during my first 15 years of life, except for Affea, no one from the Death Clan ever visited me or my dad. I heard that even the utterance of our names was banned in your clan. Then, I started producing results in intentional tournaments. People heard about me. Once it was known that I was a Rank-7, an elder from your clan appeared, inviting me to the clan. I rejected it, obviously, then another came to me. This one used force to take me back. I fought back, and my dad came in time to save me. He gave a firm warning to the clan not to touch me. A year later, I broke through again, and this time, I met a boy and made a friendship with me. He pursued me earnestly, and eventually, I fell for his charm. We dated for a couple of months, but then I found that the Haze clan sent him to seduce me and bring me back as the daughter-in-law instead. I worked very hard during the next year, putting myself in near-death situations, and finally broke through to the Supreme realm. Since then, no one from your clan dared to approach me because I can snap their neck into two before they could even lift a single finger. Now, you are here. For what? I hope it is not to drag me back now. Do you?"

Azzy studied her calmly as she explained. His senses were already probing her system.

He could feel the divinity inside her. But that would be impossible because neither of his parents was divine. There were only two ways that could be possible. One is that she acquired divinity. Two, her soul itself contains divinity.

At once, he remembered his master's words twenty years ago when he took him as a disciple. He spoke of Chione's avatar that will soon take birth in this world.

He then remembered Affea saying about Fiona on their way to Egrein City, how she heard from Fiona that their dad actually first named her after the Goddess of Snow as Chione, because of her eyes and hair, and her ice element, which she inherited from her mother, but eventually changed it to Fiona.

The time, divinity, original birth name, ice element… everything clicked with each other at once like clockwork, and realization dawned upon him.

But regardless of whether she is an avatar of Fiona or not, it is a fact that she was born as his half-sister. That itself is enough for him to protect her, even though she doesn't exactly need it.

"Hmm… let's first change the location a bit," Azzy replied after thinking a lot. Before either Affea or Fiona react, Azzy has already unleashed the sealing technique: Dimension Creation.

Their surroundings instantly changed to a blank white space, just about the size of a small playing ground.

Affea trembled for a second while Fiona instantly became hostile. "What the hell are you doing?" She growled, anger and wariness clearly seen in her eyes.

Azzy calmly put his hand inside his long jacket as he replied. "This is a pocket dimension I created around us. Now, I want you to use every bit of your strength to land a punch on me. Land even one hit on me, I will return, no questions asked. But if you fail, I will take my dad with me to our home. Whether you follow us or not, after that, it will be up to you."

"You… you are too arrogant…" Fiona replied, her frown deepened by his challenge.

Affea sighed, shaking her head. "I'm afraid he is not. Chuckie… Ahem… I mean, my brother is built entirely differently from others. You see a monster, you fight it or run away from it. My brother sees the monster, and the monster runs away."

"C'mon, you have never seen my full strength either," Fiona argued.

Azzy then spoke aloud. "Do you plan on chatting all day? Come."

Fiona charged forward to punch, but Azzy simply raised an index finger and stopped the punch. Fiona instantly jumped away and landed far, grabbing her fist, a bruise appeared on it. "Argh…" She groaned in pain, feeling her entire bone broken.

She grabbed it, the hand was hanging down. Affea came to her in worry, "Fiona, you alright?"

Fiona hurriedly took out her 8-star healing skill card and used it on her hand, healing her bones in a few seconds.

She then looked at Azzy. "What in the hell did you do?"

Azzy shrugged, "Nothing. My body is as strong as adamantium, you know. You can't inflict damage on me with such a feeble fist attack. You need to have the strength in your fist that can take down an entire mountain. Try to use your soul skills, instead."

"No matter how strong you are, I'll beat you down."

Fiona first summoned her Arcana spirit, a frost spear.

Azzy expected her to attack, but instead, she unleashed her hidden soul skill: The Descent of Ice Goddess. She decided to go all out from the beginning.

Fiona's form flickered, her body changed into a pale icy body from top to bottom as if she became an ice sculpture, except with a crown on her head. Divine energy is oozing out of her body, forming a layer over her skin.

At that moment, her level reached demigod level. However, Azzy seemed calmer. If anything, he was smiling big, giving a nod of acknowledgment. "Well, since you are making such an effort, I'll give you my respect too."

She charged at blurring speeds with the frost spear pointing to the front.

However, just as she almost reached him and pierced the spear at him, Azzy ducked in time and gave a light punch directly to her abdomen.

The ice-sculpture body of hers cracked as she blasted away dozens of meters and crashed to the ground.

Fiona transformed back into her human form but didn't wake up. She lay there unconscious.

"Fiona…" Affea rushed to her before checking her vitals. She sighed in relief. "Nothing serious."
