Chapter 445: Born From Flames
"Where are you going?" However, the voice that passed his ears made him stop. A flash passed his eyes, he turned his neck. But all he saw was blood, his blood.
The cut on his shoulder burned. It spewed red hot blood that melted the asphalt on the ground. He looked around but couldn't mind the one who did it. Someone who can cut through the scales forged in the pits of hell. Was bound to be formidable.
Ignir knew they wouldn't face him head-on. If they had any semblance of intelligence. Sneak attacks were the way to go with him.
Yet, his golden eyes caught a figure rushing straight for him. The blade in his hand glowed in a similar color to his eyes. He kicked off the ground and jumped towards him.
A stupid move to make against an aerial enemy. Ignir swiped his swords like claws at the red-haired figure and cut him like a straw doll.
But then the sensation of the blade appeared on his back. The hot blood slid off his back, but he didn't care. He felt his claws slice through a human. And there was no other life form near them. So, who was the one who cut him?
As he thought that the red-haired figure rushed him again. The same reckless charge as before, but this time Ignir smashed him under his foot. The land below gave in as a gaping hole opened up and the surrounding structures got blown away.
Then his right hind leg went missing. Rather than missing it lay in front of him. The red figure reappeared and flicked the blood off his blade. The red eyes with the obscure pattern stared in his. A chill passed through his spine as he kicked off the ground.
With a missing leg, the balance wasn't perfect. But, Ignir had bigger problems. Even if he killed him. The figure would reappear and he would bleed. Such a thing hasn't happened in ages, but he couldn't stop it now.
This was something similar to an illusion. But, even if he knew, the way to deal with it wasn't plenty. Being caught in the illusion meant he lost half of the battle and got pushed into the reactive phase.
However, a reliable method to deal with it did exist and he had the best tools for it. An Illusion had its limits. Even if it could control his senses, it couldn't control the output of his attack.
[The Flame Dragon Ignir's Fable 'The Bringer Of End' has awakened…]
A Pillar of dark red flames engulfed the surroundings. It started from the ground and reached the dome above. Everything in its perimeter got turned into ashes.
[Has that bastard gone crazy? To use something like this?] Do-Gak rushed back. This is why he protested the use of Ignir, that dragon had many loose screws and cared not for orders.
As soon as he appeared in any world he did as he pleased. Even here there was no stopping him after he used that. The destruction of the Seoul Dome was imminent.
'Should I forcefully transfer him out of here?' Do-Gak's eyes landed on Haru who watched the pillar from a nearby building.
It would be possible if he could sweet-talk a few of his supporters to give him the resources to do that.
[The Constellation 'Noble Child of The Sun' is panicking.]
[The Constellation 'Goddess of Love and Beauty' urges the Dokkaebi to stop the scenario.]
[The Constellation 'Prisoner of The Golden Headband' doesn't like the way things are progressing.]
[Some Constellations think that the difficulty has gone overboard.]
[Many Constellations are happy with the current scenario.]
[Some Constellations want the incarnation to jump into the fire.]
Even with the few mean-spirited bastards in the chat. His plan became a possibility as a few powerful ones showed their distaste for this. However, before he could say a word Haru jumped into the flame.
[…] Do-gak's jaw dropped as the chat went silent.
None of them expected him to jump in. Even the ones who wanted it to happen didn't see it coming.
The terrifying force spread like a hungry beast as Ignir stood in the middle of this pillar.
Even if he was in an illusion, this attack would engulf the entire Seoul Dome. No matter where that figure was hiding. He would eventually be reduced to nothing alongside everything.
"He stands no chance now." The coarse voice came from Ignir's throat. This was his Ultimate move, a story he cultivated over the years. One that was born from destruction, and brought destruction alone.
"Did you really think that these flames can stop me?" However, he stood before him unfazed.
"How can you...?" The Flames that have burned worlds and their mightiest warriors did not affect him.
"Lukewarm." They didn't even make him sweat.
'No, it's not that the fire isn't affecting him. It isn't touching him at all!' Ignir watched his flames morph around Haru. It gave him space to walk through, it became the floor for him to step on, and it caressed his skin gently.
It did everything other than causing harm. This Flame that should be under his command, didn't listen to him.
"Who… are you…?" For the first time, Ignir felt fear.
The Being in front of him was the natural enemy of anyone who used Fire. However, Haru was beyond that.
"I don't have time to answer your questions." The swing of his sword covered his sight in red.
Thrown in darkness the merciless blade cut into Ignir's body. He bled and bled no matter where he tried to run. His wings got torn and he could feel himself crashing down into the unending abyss.
The one time he found a worthy opponent this happened. But even if he fought, what could he do? His flame couldn't do anything to him. His trump card. It was useless, pointless. The fight's outcome was already decided.
But how? He wanted to know. He wanted the answer before he died. Why wouldn't the flame under his control hurt him?
And as the last act of kindness, he got the answer.
"How can the flames burn someone that was born from it?" The feminine voice rang in his ears.
He didn't know the origin of the voice, but despair gripped his heart. It turned out like he had thought. The Flames he was so proud of were useless.
His limp body crashed onto solid ground as the blade dug into his skull to claim his life.
[The Disaster of Flames, Ignir has been slain.]
