Chapter 49: Chapter 50: The Strongest Genjutsu, Kotoamatsu-Mouth
Today was for registration, not class, but there was an opening ceremony. Hagawa once again saw the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Compared to the last graduation ceremony, he was even more long-winded this time, speaking for a full three hours.
At the beginning, because of Hiruzen's great prestige, the elementary school students were still relatively serious. But by the end, they were all glassy-eyed, completely spaced out.
Right now, Hagawa was filled with regret. If he had known, he would have brought Tsunade along. That way, he could have snuck away halfway through.
After the opening ceremony ended, it was time to pay tuition and receive textbooks.
"How about we go for lunch together?" Rin Nohara proactively asked.
"Of course!" Obito Uchiha said with an excited face. He didn't forget to give Kakashi a look, telling him not to be a third wheel.
"I have to go train." Although Kakashi had suffered a major blow, he still hadn't given up on the idea of defeating Hagawa.
"Hagawa and the others are going too," Rin added.
"..." Kakashi couldn't help but pause.
"Why are you calling them?" Obito asked with dissatisfaction.
"Obito, we're all friends," Rin explained. "And Hagawa has helped me a lot."
"Rin!" Kurenai Yūhi, holding Hagawa's hand, bounced over and waved at her.
Obito subconsciously glanced over, then looked back at Rin. If I could hold hands with Rin, I would die a happy man.
"What do you all want to eat?" Rin asked gently.
"What do you want to eat?" Kurenai asked, looking at Hagawa.
"Which is the most famous ramen shop in the village?" Hagawa asked after thinking for a moment. He had wanted to say Ichiraku Ramen, but he didn't know if it was open yet.
"It's the one at the village entrance, called Ichiran Ramen," Rin replied.
Looks like it's not open yet. Hagawa nodded and said, "Let's go there then."
"Wait!" Asuma Sarutobi caught up to them, blocked their path, and said, "Hagawa, fight me."
"Let's eat first," Hagawa said with a smile. "Let's go together."
"I..." Asuma was at a loss for words for a moment. But on second thought, this was an opportunity. Because they definitely didn't have as much money as he did.
"I don't want to owe anyone a favor," Asuma said, glancing at Kurenai, his voice full of bravado. "My treat!"
"Okay." Hagawa agreed without hesitation.
Kurenai pouted. She didn't have a good impression of Asuma. He was always looking for a fight with Hagawa and always disturbing their time together. It was really rude.
The group soon arrived at Ichiran Ramen at the village entrance.
"Tonkotsu ramen," Hagawa said, looking at the menu.
"Me too," Kurenai said with a grin.
"Me too," Asuma said, turning into a repeater.
Kurenai immediately stopped grinning. This person is so annoying.
"Hagawa," Kakashi asked hesitantly, "how did your strength get so great?" He had been replaying the fight all morning and found that the key to the problem was that inhuman strength.
"Don't you know who my teacher is?" Hagawa asked back. He naturally couldn't say it was because of his cheat, so he could only let Tsunade take the blame.
Kakashi was taken aback for a moment and finally found the reason. Tsunade... besides being a medical ninja, she was also a taijutsu ninja. Especially that "monstrous strength" of hers, which was famous in the ninja world.
"What great strength?" Asuma was confused and couldn't help but ask.
"Hagawa beat Kakashi in one move this morning," Kurenai said, looking proud as if she were the one who had won.
"" Asuma subconsciously looked at Kakashi.
"..." Kakashi nodded silently.
Asuma suddenly wanted to grab a bucket and run. Although he had learned two more Wind Style ninjutsu, Hagawa's progress had clearly exceeded his imagination. But to just give up like this... he was unwilling.
After eating, Hagawa said goodbye to them and walked towards Tsunade's house. But he soon noticed Asuma following him sneakily.
"Come on out," Hagawa said, stopping in his tracks.
"How did you find me?" Asuma asked, walking out.
"With my eyes," Hagawa said casually.
"Hmph, do you have eyes in the back of your head?" Asuma didn't believe him.
"Looking for a match?" Hagawa asked, changing the subject.
"Yes!" Asuma played a little trick. He had originally wanted to defeat Hagawa in front of Kurenai, but Kakashi being defeated in an instant made him decide to play it safe first.
"Why should I spar with you?" Hagawa asked back.
"...?" Asuma was taken aback for a moment and said, "I'm challenging you, of course you have to accept!"
"Where is there such a rule?" Hagawa said, shaking his head. "This isn't a practical skills class."
"No, you..." Asuma said urgently. "You have to spar with me!"
"How about this," Hagawa said, seeing that the time was right. "If you lose, you let me see the scroll for the Wind Style ninjutsu you've learned."
"You want to learn Wind Style?" Asuma's eyes widened. You've learned genjutsu, kenjutsu, and medical ninjutsu, and now you want to learn Wind Style too? What a greedy poet.
"I'm not learning it. It's to save time," Hagawa said, making something up. "After I see it, I can beat you faster."
"Bastard! How dare you look down on me!" Asuma's blood rushed to his head, and he directly formed hand seals. His body leaned back slightly, and he suddenly spat out a ball of chakra.
Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!
The chakra expanded in the wind, instantly turning into a small storm in front of him.
Hagawa raised his hand and threw a kunai. The immense force made the kunai fly through the storm like a bullet, grazing past Asuma.
BOOM!
Asuma subconsciously turned his head and saw the kunai embedded deep in a tree trunk, having even created a deep crater. He couldn't help but swallow. If that had hit him, his head would have exploded like a watermelon.
"Still want to fight?" Hagawa asked, walking up to him.
"..." Asuma gritted his teeth and took out a scroll. On it were three Wind Style ninjutsu: Wind Style: Great Breakthrough, Wind Style: Gale Palm, and Wind Style: Airflow Turbulence.
Hagawa looked at it for a while, then returned it to him. The E-rank trait "Hero" gave him a 10% memory bonus, and adding that to his memory from two lifetimes, he had memorized it all.
"Thanks," Hagawa said with a smile. "Do you want to train with me?"
"Huh?" Asuma looked at him with an expression of disbelief.
"Helping each other is the only way to progress, isn't it?" Hagawa asked nonchalantly. Not only can I farm traits, but I can also let Hiruzen Sarutobi see my "Will of Fire." Why not? This is the way of survival in Konoha.
Hearing this, Asuma was stunned on the spot. For a moment, he was a little ashamed. His nature wasn't bad; he was only against Hagawa because of Kurenai. But now he found that he was indeed no match for him, in any aspect.
Hagawa was slightly taken aback. He had triggered a new trait.
*[E-Rank Talent Trait: Kotoamatsu-Mouth.]*
*[Trigger Condition: Successfully convince Asuma Sarutobi.]*
*[Effect: Hand seal speed increased by 10% on top of the original foundation.]*
This works too? But why does it increase my hand speed? And not my mouth speed or tongue speed?
