Chapter 757: 757 is too fast
When Ye Jiu woke up again, she was lying in Sikong Mo's arms with one leg half-draped over him.
Looking at her own inelegant sleeping position, Ye Jiu quietly stuck out her tongue and then slowly moved her leg away.
Propping her head up, she gazed at the man beside her: his brow sharp and eyes bright, both cold and enticing. Although his face looked slightly tired and stubble had grown on his chin, he still looked incredibly handsome.
Gradually, Ye Jiu couldn't help but stretch out her small hand and traced across his eyebrows and eyes repeatedly.
Seeing his fan-like eyelashes tremble slightly, Ye Jiu quickly withdrew her hand.
But it was already too late, Sikong Mo's movements were faster as he grasped her hand that still lingered in front of his face, and then opened his eyes to look at her innocent expression.
"Do you like what you see?" Sikong Mo asked, putting his other hand behind his head and looking at her with a smile in his eyes.
"Hehe, very handsome, incredibly so." If he weren't handsome, she wouldn't be so captivated.
As she continued looking, she couldn't resist reaching out her hand again.
Eyebrows, nose, and thin lips. Ye Jiu couldn't understand how a man could be so breathtaking that just gazing at him made one contemplate committing a crime.
Sikong Mo didn't resist; he just lay there letting her do as she wished.
After a while, seeing that Ye Jiu finally let go, Sikong Mo then asked, "Jiujiu, has someone bullied you? I will take revenge for you."
Ye Jiu shook her head, smiling without a care in the world, "No, I'm so formidable and carry many treasures on me; how could anyone bully me? But you, you look so tired."
Sikong Mo still looked at her neck, and Ye Jiu naturally noticed his gaze and explained, "It's just my bad luck, really, even drinking water gets stuck in my teeth. When I went to the station to find Prince Jing, I happened to encounter assassins coming out and ended up being held hostage. Fortunately, I had medicine with me..."
Sikong Mo listened intently to Ye Jiu until she finished, then remained silently thoughtful.
Little did Ye Jiu know, those assassins she mentioned, including the mastermind behind them, were already jot down in Sikong Mo's mental ledger.
When Ye Jiu spoke of Prince Jing, her expression noticeably soured.
Sikong Mo didn't ask why, he just calmly listened to her pour her heart out.
Until, Ye Jiu's tone became more and more choked up, and she suddenly threw herself into Sikong Mo's arms, asking, "Sikong Mo, if one day, will you also abandon me?"
Sikong Mo stretched out his arms to hold her close, "I can abandon my own life, but I will never abandon you, because..." Sikong Mo took Ye Jiu's hand and placed it on his chest, saying: "Here, you are more important than life itself."
"Remember what you said, I'm taking it seriously!" Ye Jiu looked up at him.
Sikong Mo nodded, "Hmm."
Noticing Ye Jiu's unusual demeanor, Sikong Mo continued, "Jiujiu, tell me, did something happen?"
"No," Ye Jiu denied.
What good would it do to speak up? In this matter, no one could help her.
"Just say it; you need to try to rely on me." Even though he knew Ye Jiu didn't want to talk, Sikong Mo still spoke up.
Ye Jiu gave a rueful laugh, "There is something, I might be going to the capital city."
Sikong Mo's expression changed, "Going to the capital city, so soon!"
He hadn't even had time to prepare, yet Ye Jiu was already heading to the capital city. Then...
Sikong Mo really couldn't be happy about it.
"You think it's soon too." Ye Jiu murmured, "I think so too; sadly, I can't even decide for myself where to stay."
