My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Exposed

"Oh, what's this?" Raviel asked with keen interest, his eyes fixed on the mysterious device. At the center of the device were three transparent tanks, each about five meters tall. Surrounding the tanks was a platform with several spherical indentations carved into it.

Hearing the question, Professor Shiratani's face lit up with pride. "As you can see, we've spent years overcoming the Pokémon League's teleportation technology. With this machine, we can bypass the League's system entirely and send Pokémon directly to our warehouse in the Hoenn Region."

Professor Shiratani's hand, marked by what looked like scars from some corrosive solution, brushed over the indentations on the platform. "All you need to do is place the Poké Balls containing the captured Pokémon here. In special cases, we can also teleport the Pokémon directly from the tanks."

To demonstrate, he pulled a standard Poké Ball from his lab coat pocket and placed it into the central indentation. Then, he pressed the button to activate the machine.

A low hum emanated from the device as blue high-voltage currents began to flow through the energy tubes on either side. The high-frequency energy caused the platform to vibrate intensely.

As the machine operated, a white light suddenly emerged from the indentation, engulfing the Poké Ball and causing it to vanish into thin air.

Once the demonstration was complete, enthusiastic applause broke out behind him. Raviel stepped forward, clapping as he approached the professor. His eyes gleamed with greed as he looked at the device. If Team Rocket could acquire such a machine, the risks of their operations would be significantly reduced.

"Would your organization be willing to add this device to our next trade deal?" Raviel inquired.

Professor Shiratani chuckled lightly in response. "I'm afraid that's not up to me. If you're interested, we can discuss it further in our next communication. For now, let's continue with our unfinished business."

He took a briefcase from his assistant, pressed a button to open it, and a radioactive purple light spilled out. Inside were neatly arranged small containers filled with Miracle Virus solution.

"If you're unsure, Mr. Raviel, you're welcome to inspect them first."

Carefully taking the briefcase, Raviel scanned its contents. Just as he was about to speak, a deafening explosion cut him off.

"What's going on outside?!" Professor Shiratani's expression turned alert as he turned to look toward the door.

"No need to worry, Professor Shiratani. It's just some uninvited guests. My men will handle it quickly."

Raviel adjusted his black earpiece, ending the communication. After briefly understanding the situation from his subordinates outside, he resumed his friendly demeanor, calming the professor's nerves. However, a fleeting glance toward the door revealed a hint of cruelty in his eyes.

"Ekans, use Poison Sting!" "Zubat, use Air Cutter!"

On the construction site, the "workers" who had been laboring through the night to move heavy iron crates suddenly stopped their tasks. They began to swarm toward a specific area, releasing their Pokémon from their Poké Balls and commanding them to launch a barrage of attacks at the blond man at the center of the encirclement.

"Electivire, Protect the front! Electrode, charge up and use Thunderbolt!"

Despite being surrounded and facing attacks aimed at his life, Lt. Surge remained calm and composed, issuing commands to the black-striped yellow beast and the oversized "red-and-white ball" by his side.

Following the order, Electivire crossed its thick arms in front of itself, forming a diamond-shaped energy barrier. The Poison Stings and Air Cutters struck the barrier but were deflected without leaving a trace.

Meanwhile, electrical energy from the atmosphere began to gather around Electrode, coating its spherical body in a golden glow. Its large eyes opened, unleashing a devastating surge of electricity amplified by its charge.

The electric current quickly spread to the Ekans, Zubat, and other local Pokémon, as well as the Team Rocket grunts who hadn't managed to retreat in time, leaving them charred and lifeless on the ground.

The sudden demise of their comrades and the terrifying power of Electrode momentarily intimidated the Team Rocket members, causing them to hesitate.

However, their black earpieces crackled to life with a familiar, chillingly friendly voice. Their bodies shivered, and without further hesitation, they released a new wave of Pokémon.

Beads of sweat formed on Lt. Surge's forehead. While most of the people surrounding him were small fry, their sheer numbers were overwhelming. If they continued to throw themselves at him recklessly, he'd be worn down to death.

Earlier that afternoon, Lt. Surge had received an urgent call from the League, warning him that Team Rocket might be conducting illegal activities in Vermilion City. Without a moment's rest, he and his subordinates had donned civilian clothes and begun patrolling the city. As luck would have it, he had stumbled right into the middle of their operation.

Thanks to his military training, he had managed to avoid the hidden sentries and successfully knocked out a higher-ranking Team Rocket member, disguising himself in their uniform. He had then mingled with the grunts moving the iron crates, subtly gathering information.

Unfortunately, just as he was starting to uncover some leads, he ran into someone who recognized the person he was impersonating. The difference in their accents immediately gave him away, and now he was surrounded by this mob.

Cursing the League for not sending more backup despite knowing the situation, Lt. Surge clenched his fists, seemingly making a decision.

He looked at Electrode beside him, his eyes filled with a hint of apology. "I'm sorry, old friend. I'll have to rely on you."

Understanding his trainer's expression, Electrode nodded without complaint, floating into Lt. Surge's hand. With a powerful throw, Lt. Surge sent the glowing Electrode hurtling toward a densely packed group of Team Rocket members.

"Electrode, use Explosion!"

In the eyes of the terrified Team Rocket grunts, a blinding white light filled their vision, engulfing their bodies. The once impenetrable wall of people was blown apart, creating a large gap. Seizing the opportunity, Lt. Surge dashed through the opening, not forgetting to recall the now incapacitated Electrode into its Poké Ball.

"He's escaping!"

"After him!"

The clamor of voices filled the air.

Seeing Lt. Surge sacrifice Electrode to escape, the remaining Team Rocket members regained some courage, shouting as they gave chase.

None of them spared a thought for their comrades who had been caught in the explosion, their fates unknown.

With thunderous fists, Electivire turned and unleashed a series of Thunder Punches, sending the Pokémon attempting to ambush it and its trainer flying. However, more of Team Rocket's Pokémon kept coming, and it was impossible to block every attack.

Taking several quick steps back, Lt. Surge narrowly avoided an Ekans that burst from the ground in his path, delivering a spinning kick with his military boots to send it flying.

This isn't going to work… Frowning, he spotted two new "enemies" rushing toward him to block his escape.

Without a moment's hesitation, Lt. Surge threw a straight punch aimed at the face of the female member. However, before his fist could connect, it was stopped mid-air by an invisible force.

"What the—" Before he could express his shock, a faint green light flashed, and the world around him spun. He lost his balance and tumbled to the ground.

The sound of footsteps gradually ceased as the Team Rocket grunts stopped in their tracks, staring in confusion at the spot where the large man and his Pokémon had suddenly vanished.

---

About two meters above the ground, several green lights suddenly appeared out of nowhere. A burly blond man spun downward, crashing into the earth with a forceful kiss.

Enduring the pain that felt like his body was about to fall apart, Lt. Surge forced himself to stand, rubbing his slightly red nose and spitting out the dirt he had accidentally swallowed.

What just happened? I was being chased by a bunch of Team Rocket grunts, and then some blockers appeared in front of me. I tried to take them down, and then I face-planted…

As his mind was still in a haze, he heard Electivire's angry roar. The Pokémon's hands crackled with electricity as it prepared to attack the two strangers nearby.

Lt. Surge's mind snapped back to reality, and he quickly shouted, "Electivire! Hold your attack!"

The fist that was mid-swing froze in the air. At the same time, the green light in the eyes of the woman among the two strangers softened. She gave him a cold glance before turning her head and leaning against the other person.

"Gym Leader Surge, what a coincidence to see you here again."

Hearing the somewhat familiar voice, Lt. Surge raised an eyebrow. A moment later, as if remembering something, his expression turned to one of realization. "You're… the kid who challenged the Vermilion Gym this afternoon."

If that's the case… His gaze shifted to the woman clinging to Kazuki's arm.

"You're the Gym Leader of Saffron City! So that thing just now… and the way you look now, is that the legendary Psychic power? That's incredible! What else can it do? Can it read minds? I've heard it can even predict the future!"

His tone suddenly became excited, and he fired off a series of curious questions, causing Sabrina's already cold gaze to grow even frostier.

"Gym Leader Surge, now isn't the time to be probing into Sabrina's Psychic abilities…" Sensing Sabrina's displeasure, Kazuki spoke up with a hint of helplessness.

Fortunately, Lt. Surge wasn't someone who didn't know his limits. Remembering his mission, he quickly regained his composure. Seeing this, the young man immediately asked:

"Sabrina and I have discovered that the crates being moved contain Pokémon poached by Team Rocket. What kind of illegal activities are going on here?"

However, Lt. Surge simply looked at him and shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I can't tell you. While I'm grateful for your help just now, this is not something you kids should be involved in. Leave this place as soon as possible."

Just as I thought…

Having anticipated this response, Kazuki silently showed him the badge.

"The badge of an… unofficial investigator." Lt. Surge's pupils contracted slightly, and he let out a sigh. "Alright, I'll tell you what I've found out so far."
