Chapter 148: Green Wood Horned Python
Watching Li Yiren display her Heaven-Sent Ability, Shao Zifeng's heart was tumultuous.
No wonder she was able to develop special skills for mutant creatures; there indeed exists such Heaven-Sent Abilities.
Swish.
Li Yiren stopped writing and glanced at Shao Zifeng curiously, standing up and shaking her sketchbook, "All the intelligence he could provide is here, as for him..."
"Leave him to me," Li Yiming glanced at Shao Zifeng, crouched down, and reached into his embrace.
Pu chi—
Before the Korean man could react, a dagger glittering with cold light stabbed into his neck.
Bright red blood splattered across the rubble; watching the man collapse in a pool of blood, Li Yiming's face showed no change.
Shao Zifeng fell silent, unsure of what they had experienced over the years. After all, it was at his instigation that Li Yiming hurt someone for the first time, and the changes over the years were truly too great.
Li Yiming wiped the blood off the dagger with a handkerchief, "Yiren, did you find anything?"
Li Yiren glanced at the corpse on the ground and opened her sketchbook, "What we know so far is that Second Uncle is preparing something. He has pulled away more than a hundred guards, and there have been multiple cargo ships coming and going recently, likely transporting living creatures."
"I don't know the specifics, but my intuition tells me it's aimed at us."
Li Yiming frowned slightly, "Brother Shao, Yiren's intelligence is definitely accurate. What are your plans next?"
Shao Zifeng certainly knew that Li Yiren's intelligence wouldn't be wrong; after all, she was someone with a Heaven-Sent Ability. He thought for a moment, then smiled, "Since we're here, why prepare anything at all."
Li Yiming and Li Yiren were taken aback.
Shao Zifeng looked towards the lush forest, occasionally catching glimpses of light filtering through the tree shadows. The fire element surged within him, and large flame dragon wings unfolded behind him.
"Of course, it's to start fighting now!"
Boom!
The violent airstream lifted the corpse off the ground as Shao Zifeng turned into a red flash and charged into the forest. The trees he passed parted to the sides, burning with flames.
"Qiuqiu!"
"Roar!"
...
"Keen!!"
The Azure Falcon's wings limply fell, blood rich with elemental power slipping from its feathers, splashing tiny droplets when they hit a pool of blood.
Its breath grew weaker and weaker, the dim falcon eyes moving around. In the training ground lay piles of beast corpses, a pungent smell of blood permeating the entire courtyard.
Scarface, shirtless, tugged on the Azure Falcon's neck, squeezing out the last bit of blood before carelessly throwing it onto the pile of corpses behind him.
He stood upright, wiping the sweat off his face with a towel, "Haha, the twenty-ninth one. Do you guys still want to compete?"
"Hell, I'm only two short of you. If that round-plated horn Wood Sheep hadn't been so fierce, I might have beaten you."
"Exactly, I got twenty-eight. Who's afraid of who?"
Amid the rising shouts, Scarface laughed, "Alright, bring me two more, and I'll show you a double kill with one strike!"
At that moment, the training ground suddenly fell silent.
"Second Master."
"Second Master has arrived."
Li Fengting nodded, his gaze fixed on the large blood pit in the middle of the training ground, "You've worked hard. Once this matter is over, I'll give each of you a long vacation to spend quality time with your families."
The men showed joy, "Thank you, Second Master."
Li Fengting gestured, "Changli, test the concentration."
"Yes."
A young man with an ordinary appearance emerged from the crowd, carrying a silver suitcase. He squatted down and opened the suitcase, where a green Crystal Stone lay tightly on the black velvet.
Li Changli carefully lifted the Crystal Stone with both hands and placed it into the blood puddle, as all eyes turned to watch.
As time ticked by, a faint green glow slowly lit up on the Crystal Stone, gathering at its base like water, gradually increasing within the clear stone, and finally stopping at one-third of the way up the stone.
Seeing this, Li Fengting's expression darkened, "How could it be so far off? How many mutant creatures are left to kill?"
The people below trembled and stuttered, "Second Master, we've used all our resources and have only been able to summon five hundred and sixty-four wood-type mutant creatures so far... and now we've killed two hundred and thirty-six of them."
"If there's enough time... we can summon another thousand or so within seven days."
After speaking, he bowed his head deeply, hardly daring to breathe.
Li Fengting closed his eyes: "Five hundred and sixty-four... two hundred and thirty-six."
Suddenly, he opened his eyes and looked at Li Changli, slowly speaking, "Changli, if I remember correctly, your Green Wood Horned Python is close to the eighth rank, isn't it?"
Li Changli's face twitched slightly upon hearing this, as he expressionlessly gestured with his hand.
"Hiss!"
A Space Rift slowly opened up, from which a menacing giant python with bark-like skin and a head covered with disheveled branches emerged.
Its cold snake eyes shifted, showing a rare softness when looking at Li Changli, nuzzling its branch-filled head against his face gently.
Li Changli's body was tensely rigid, his shaky right hand resting on the Green Wood Horned Python's soft belly, his skin slowly showing the grainy pattern of wood.
Thud!
Bright red blood sprayed across Li Changli's face, the Green Wood Horned Python's body stiffened as it lowered its head in confusion, not understanding what it had done wrong.
"Hiss~"
The severe pain caused the Green Wood Horned Python to let out a weak hiss. It wanted to struggle, but was afraid to hurt its master, so it could only gently sway its body.
Li Changli's face was pale, his eyes bloodshot as he yelled, "Don't move!"
"Hiss~"
The Green Wood Horned Python lowered its head pitifully, looking at its master while its body twitched from pain, blood oozing from the wound and pooling into the puddle, as the previously halted green glow within the Crystal Stone began to rise again.
Li Changli's body shook more and more violently, his expression fierce as he roared, "I said don't move!!"
Thud!
A big spurt of blood splashed out, and Li Changli's hand withdrew from the Green Wood Horned Python's belly, a beating red heart in his grasp as the wood grain on his arm rapidly faded.
Thump!
As the Green Wood Horned Python collapsed, Li Changli fell to the ground, his body convulsing violently from backlash.
The training field was eerily silent, with everyone showing a look of distress, and they turned their heads away.
Li Changli, holding the heart, said with a trembling voice, "Second Master..."
Li Fengting nodded calmly, "Well done."
After saying that, he turned and left.
"Roar!"
Just a few steps away, a mighty dragon's roar suddenly came from nearby. The mutant creatures locked in cages curled up in the corners, shivering and looking terrified.
Boom!
Lush trees fell to both sides, and a wild pillar of fire struck the courtyard, collapsing the outer wall with a loud crash.
Burning trees crackled, and the firelight bathed the night sky in a dark red hue.
From within the fierce flames, a voice carried across the distance, "Li Fengting, I've come for you."
