My Love Debts Are Everywhere!

Chapter 660: Lifting the Seven Thousand Year Oath and the Departure - Part 2

Under the fearful gazes of the elves, streaks of black lightning violently struck in all directions.

One of the bolts hit an elf, instantly scorching him.

Those nearby were stunned, frozen in fear.

"Damn it! The lightning's targeting us! Run!" One of the elves shouted.

Chaos erupted. Men, women, and children scattered in every direction, desperately trying to save themselves.

It didn't matter whether they were trading, dating, or just taking a walk—everyone was now running for their lives.

Even more terrifying, the lightning bolts behaved like guided missiles, seemingly able to lock onto their targets. No matter how fast the elves ran, the black streaks chased them down, striking with brutal precision and leaving many unconscious.

The nightmare continued for fifteen minutes before silence finally fell over the Land of Elves. Bodies lay sprawled across the streets and inside their homes.

This wasn't limited to the townsfolk—Zelda, the three elders, the first elder, Lavistar, Thalon, and Leyna had all collapsed as well.

Leon stood frozen in shock. He turned to Astra and asked, "Astra, what happened? Why did the lightning strike them like that and make them pass out?"

"Don't worry," Astra said gently. "It's just part of the process to free them from the oath. Since the oath is like a curse running through their blood, the lightning is meant to purge it. They'll regain consciousness in a few minutes—just wait."

Leon's panic slowly eased at her explanation. He said nothing more and simply waited.

A few minutes later, the first to stir was the first elder. She let out a soft groan before finally opening her eyes.

"Ugh..." She grimaced as she tried to sit up. "What happened? Why did I lose consciousness?"

Astra immediately stepped forward to support her. "It's alright. That was the curse-purging lightning—you're free from the oath now."

Her eyes widened as the words sank in. She looked down at herself, and sure enough—the oath had disappeared.

"Finally… I'm free!" She exclaimed joyfully, jumping up and down like an excited child.

No one could truly understand how happy she was at that moment. After all, she was the first Elven Queen—the one who had created the Elven race's oath.

Back then, to support her husband, Amon Crimson, she willingly cooperated with him and led the Elven race into seclusion.

If asked whether she regretted it, the answer would be no. But the guilt she carried for forcing her people to live in hiding for thousands of years never left her.

That guilt weighed heavily on her heart, growing with each passing year—until seven thousand long years had gone by.

Now, with the oath finally broken, the burden she had carried for so long was lifted. She felt truly free and deeply happy.

Watching her friend rejoice, Astra simply smiled. Since they shared the same husband, she and Malverna naturally shared a close bond.

Of course, there had been friction between them in the past—a few minor squabbles, usually over Amon's attention.

But beyond that, in their daily lives, the two were inseparable—intimate and close, like real sisters.

It was the first time in thousands of years that she had seen her friend this happy. The sight filled her heart with overwhelming joy.

After the first elder awakened, the others—Zelda, Thalon, Lavistar, and Leyna—also began to stir.

Like her, they awoke with dazed, confused expressions.

But once Leon explained what had happened, their surprise quickly turned into joy. Their faces lit up with excitement.

"Finally! Hahaha!" Thalon burst out laughing. "I've always dreamed of seeing the outside world—of exploring every corner of it. But I thought it would remain just that, a dream… especially at my age. I'm already four hundred years old, after all. Fortunately, the Fated One arrived just in time. Now I finally have the chance."

He clasped his hands and bowed respectfully to Leon. "Thank you, Fated One. I'll never forget your kindness. One day, I'll repay you—no matter what."

Leyna and Lavistar followed suit, expressing their gratitude. They too longed to see the outside world—to witness the oceans, mountains, and vast lands they had only ever read about in books.

"You're welcome, Thalon. I'm glad you'll finally get to chase your dreams," Leon said softly. "The world out there is vast—and it's waiting for you."

Thalon, Lavistar, and Leyna nodded eagerly, their eyes filled with longing and anticipation.

"Alright then." Leon stretched, then turned to Zelda with a gentle gaze. "I'll go first. Take care, Zelda."

Zelda bit her lower lip and gave a heavy nod. "You too, Leon. Be safe."

Leon offered a faint smile. But then, something came to mind. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a black handkerchief.

"By the way, Zelda. I almost forgot." He took her hand and gently placed the handkerchief in her palm. "The Demon Empress, Liliana Crimson; the Holy Orthodox Saint, Arshley; and the Dragon Empress, Athena, have formed an alliance to fight the Evil God in the future. I want you and the Elven race to join them. It will increase our chances of victory."

"This handkerchief was given to me by Liliana. If you ever meet her, give it to her—it will show that you're on my side."

Zelda looked slightly surprised as she gently accepted the warm handkerchief.

"I understand, Leon," she said firmly. "Leave it to me."

"Good." Leon nodded, satisfied. Then he turned to Astra. "If I'm not back within a year, go with Zelda to the Demon Empire. Meet Liliana—and the little girls. I'm sure they'll be happy to see you."

Astra's face lit up at his words. She nodded repeatedly, her voice filled with excitement. "Yes, Leon. Thank you!"

Leon gave a final nod, shared a few last instructions, then vanished like a gust of wind.

After he was gone, Zelda let out a long sigh. A trace of sadness lingered on her face. Even though she had let Leon go, the reluctance remained deep in her heart.

After all, they had only just begun their love story. But circumstances forced them apart—for now.

Suddenly, curiosity stirred within her. She turned to Astra with a puzzled look.

"Lady Astra, may I ask you something?"

Astra turned and gave her a gentle smile. "Of course."

Zelda hesitated for a moment before asking softly, "Those little girls Leon mentioned earlier… who are they? Could it be…"

Her voice trailed off, leaving the question hanging in the air. Astra let out a soft chuckle.

"Exactly what you're thinking," she said, a playful glint in her eyes.

Zelda: "..."
