Chapter 507: Dragon Ancestor Questions and Purpose

On the southern side of the palace lay a breathtaking flower field, where white, purple, and pink blossoms flourished in perfect harmony.

At the heart of the field stood a large, round table surrounded by four chairs.

"So, how have you been, Dragon Ancestor? Are you healthy and well?"

Miranda took a sip of her tea, her gaze fixed on the dragon ancestor seated across from her.

At her words, he let out a small sigh. "I'm fine. However, the wounds I suffered from the Evil God's sneak attack in the past still haven't healed."

Miranda frowned, hesitation lacing her voice. "The Evil God's sneak attack? Are you saying.."

Before she could finish, the dragon ancestor cut her off.

"Yes, when my comrades fell at his hands."

His expression hardened, and his fists clenched tightly.

Though thousands of years had passed and the dragon race had regained its former glory, the sense of loss remained.

They weren't just comrades—they were his family. His loved ones.

Sadly, they died in the surprise attack, and in order to save him, they sacrificed themselves.

That was why he despised the Evil God to his very core and wanted him dead.

Unfortunately, the Evil God could only be sealed, and the only one capable of killing him was neither Amon Crimson nor Luminus Troya, but the Fated One.

He cast a fervent gaze at Leon, who was sitting beside Miranda, his eyes burning with intense anticipation.

Feeling that piercing stare, Leon shuddered.

For some reason, it reminded him of someone discovering a bottle of mineral water in the middle of a scorching desert.

"So, your wounds still haven't healed, huh?" Miranda let out a small sigh.

She knew all too well about the injuries sustained by the dragon ancestor—wounds tainted by the Evil God's dark energy, impossible to heal except by someone who could wield both holy power and chaos power.

And the only one who met that requirement was none other than her master, sitting right beside her.

"By the way, Lady Miranda, there's something that troubles me deeply," the dragon ancestor said with a solemn expression. "What became of my friends, Amon Crimson and Luminus Troya, after I entered my long slumber?"

His injuries had been too severe. A few years after the war ended, he had no choice but to hibernate.

Two hundred years later, when he finally awakened, the first thing he did was ask his descendants about what had transpired during his absence.

However, their answers were nothing like what he had expected.

They didn't even know who Luminus Troya was, and as for Amon Crimson, they referred to him as the First Demon Emperor—the ruler of the demon race, known for its hostility toward the three heroes.

At that moment, he realized something was wrong. History had been deliberately concealed by a certain party.

And he was certain that the ones responsible were none other than his two friends.

He didn't know their exact reasons, but he was sure it was all part of their preparations to confront the Evil God in the future.

As such, he ordered the rulers of the Dragon Empire, who came from the red dragon family, to safeguard the demon race from annihilation at the hands of the heroes that emerged in each era.

At his question, Miranda's expression darkened.

"After you entered your long slumber, many great events took place..."

She then began recounting everything to the dragon ancestor—from Amon Crimson and Luminus Troya's elaborate plan to deceive the Evil God and prepare for the arrival of the Fated One to Luminus Troya's ultimate sacrifice, which erased him from the memories of all living beings in the world.

The dragon ancestor listened intently, his expression unwaveringly serious.

Only after Miranda finished speaking did he take a deep breath, absorbing everything.

"So, the group mentioned in the prophecy refers to the heroes, huh? I expected as much..." he murmured, his expression complicated.

In the prophecy they had seen, the Fated One would arise from a group of people who possessed holy power.

At first, he had no idea what that meant.

He had asked Amon Crimson and Luminus Troya, but even they had no answers.

However, after awakening from his long slumber and learning about the existence of chosen humans called heroes, he realized—the Fated One mentioned in the prophecy would emerge from among them.

Additionally, he never expected his close friend, Luminus Troya, to suffer such a tragic fate—erased from the memories of all living beings.

The sacrifices Luminus had made to ensure the arrival of the Fated One made him sigh with regret.

Had he not been injured, he could have at least bid his friend farewell before his passing.

"Wait a minute..." His brows furrowed as a thought surfaced. "If Luminus Troya used a forbidden technique to create heroes and was erased from memory as a result... why do I still remember him?"

Miranda's expression remained flat as she replied calmly, "Some people are immune to the effect. You just happen to be one of them."

"I see… so that's how it is." The dragon ancestor nodded, a faint smile of relief crossing his lips.

Had his memories of Luminus been erased, he knew the weight of guilt would have been unbearable.

"Alright, let's end this discussion here," Miranda interjected.

She took a sip of her tea, soothing her dry throat before finally asking, "Tell me, what was your reason for calling my master here? Was it to heal your wounds?"

"Yes, that's part of it," the dragon ancestor admitted without hesitation. His gaze turned firm as he looked at Leon and continued, "But that's not all. I also want to train him—to guide him and impart knowledge about the hidden races and the Evil God."

Miranda frowned at his words. "Are you serious? You're not joking, are you?"

She clearly remembered that the dragon ancestor was the laziest when it came to giving guidance or teaching others. His sudden change felt incredibly strange.

Noticing her suspicious gaze, the dragon ancestor felt slightly awkward.

"Ahem! It's been thousands of years—naturally, people change," he said, clearing his throat. "Besides, I promised both of them that I would train and watch over the Fated One until he becomes strong enough to face the Evil God."

Though still doubtful, Miranda chose to stay silent. Instead, she turned to Leon, sitting beside her.

"What do you think, Master?" she asked softly.

Leon hesitated for a moment. It wasn't that he was unwilling, but he believed he was already strong enough and didn't need guidance from anyone.

"Just accept it, Leon."

At that moment, Athena, who had been silent until now, leaned in and whispered in his ear.

"My ancestor is incredibly powerful, and his experience is unparalleled. Plus, he rarely agrees to teach anyone—even I've only received his guidance once. This is a rare opportunity for you."

Athena's words quickly sank in. "She's right. No matter how strong I am, my experience can't compare to the dragon ancestor's. If I can learn from him, it will be a huge advantage."

With that realization, he gave a firm nod and said, "Alright, I accept!"
