Chapter 206: Suppressing Mi Fang, the Yaksha Clan Holy Maiden
"Wow! Such a vast expanse of World Crystal Stones, there must be over a hundred thousand pieces at the very least," Shang Guanwu exclaimed.
"Senior Brother, hurry and absorb them to refine your Inner World. After more than a hundred years, take us out to conquer all directions," she said excitedly, waving her hands about.
"This location is very secretive. While I'm in closed-door cultivation, you must not contact anyone else and reveal our whereabouts," Yang Ji admonished.
"Senior Brother, don't worry," Zhong Jun and the others nodded in agreement.
"Yang Ji, focus on your cultivation, we will protect you," Yan Zhan declared.
"Hmm!" Yang Ji nodded, then sat down cross-legged.
To refine his Inner World, he needed Shen Yin. He did not wish for the Rotten Wooden Box to see whether it was his identity as the Taichu Divine Tree or the Origin Divine Thunder.
Thus, he transferred it to a secret location in the Mount Sea World that no one could access, to avoid being influenced by it.
After making these arrangements, Yang Ji finally picked up a World Crystal Stone and began to absorb the World Force within it, starting the process of refining his Inner World.
Cultivation knows no years.
And so the days passed, one by one.
One year.
Two years.
Three years.
Four years.
...
Long winds have changed courses several times; grass and trees have withered over the years.
In the blink of an eye, more than a hundred and thirty years had passed.
There was only one year left until the end of the Battlefield of Inheritances.
During these hundred years, countless treasures had been unearthed, numerous True Inheritance Talismans had appeared.
People fought and competed aggressively, eliminating countless geniuses.
The circle of death kept shrinking, moving outside this Ancient Battlefield.
In such a small place, the geniuses of all races gathered, and nearly all those who had survived had come here.
Groups formed, the atmosphere growing increasingly delicate.
Over this period of more than a hundred years, the Heavenly Demon faction and the Taichu World's talents had clashed numerous times, both sides suffering losses.
The two camps fought with a do-or-die attitude, more fiercely than any other factions involved.
The weak were eliminated, leaving behind the strong who were truly powerful.
Other factions were also fighting amongst themselves, contending for True Inheritance Talismans, eliminating the weak.
Even though there were ten thousand talismans, there were only three thousand slots available, which meant that many would not achieve the status of True Inheritance.
As the end drew closer, the battles became even more brutal, because aside from the premier inheritance,
there was also a ranking — the top hundred True Inheritances.
This ranking was based on the number of True Inheritance Talismans.
Whoever had more talismans, aside from the first True Inheritance, from the most to the least, the top hundred would be chosen.
These top hundred True Inheritances did not have specific rankings, only the glory of being in the top hundred, but this glory would bring them more blessings from the Immortal King.
This blessing would increase their success rate by nearly twenty percent when they faced the Dao Calamity in the future.
This was undoubtedly driving everyone crazy.
The geniuses of all the worlds, for the glory of the top hundred and for this blessing, would spare no effort to snatch the True Inheritance Talismans.
Nobody knew if the number of talismans they held was sufficient, so the more they snatched, the better their chances of securing a spot among the top hundred True Inheritances.
It was because of this rule that every time the Battlefield of Inheritances concluded, the number of people who achieved True Inheritance was always less than three thousand.
This last year was undoubtedly filled with bloodshed and brutality.
During this tumultuous final year, within a hidden spatial Secret Realm, a young man slowly opened his eyes.
...
Above the ruins of the Ancient Battlefield, a tragic battle for True Inheritance Talismans was unfolding.
A group of talented individuals from the Yaksha Clan had the ten disciples of Wuji Dao Sect completely surrounded, looking on with smug smiles.
"You ten little mice, thought by obtaining ten True Inheritance Talismans and hiding deep underground, you could become True Inheritors? You've been forced out now, haven't you?" A proud Yaksha Clan genius laughed.
"Hand over the True Inheritance Talismans, or die!" Another fierce Yaksha Clan genius demanded coldly.
"People of Wuji Dao Sect, I can't stand them. Whether you give them or not, you're going to die!" Suddenly, several more Yaksha Clan talents flew over from afar, the leader among them declaring with murderous intent.
"You want to kill us? Yang Ji, our senior brother, won't let you get away with this!" one of the Wuji Dao Sect disciples shouted defiantly, his expression flickering as he invoked the awe-inspiring name of Yang Ji.
"Heh, Yang Ji? He hasn't shown himself in over a hundred years; for all we know, he could be dead in some treasure land," said the Yaksha Clan leader, his tone colder and his killing intent overflowing with a sneer. "It would've been better if you hadn't mentioned him. Now that you have, your deaths won't be quick and painless. I will torture you slowly to death."
"Oh, is that so?" All of a sudden, a voice as cold as ice descended from the sky.
A giant foot fell from the heavens, so brazen, intending to cover all the Yaksha Clan members below in an attempt to crush them all with a single stomp!
The ten Yaksha Clans standing below were either leaders or figures from the Immortal Ranking, their identities noble within the Yaksha Clan and revered on the Battlefield of Inheritances. Who had ever dared to attack them with such audacity?
All of them were enraged!
This foot descending toward the Yaksha Clan geniuses was utterly unrestrained, showing total disdain, the epitome of dominance!
Below, the ten disciples of Wuji Dao Sect all showed signs of deep shock, their pupils contracting, mouths wide open, watching anxiously.
"Who is this foolhardy?" With a roar of anger, one of the Yaksha Clan geniuses, an expert on the Immortal Ranking, looked up.
The others, too, exuded lethal intent.
"This voice is?" The leading Immortal Ranking genius from the Yaksha Clan suddenly changed his expression, looking up in horror. As he saw the figure, his pupils shrank sharply. Wasn't that the very same feared killer from a hundred years ago...?
