Just as he was watching, the elevator doors began to close, and he quickly pressed the button again to open them.

“Thank you.” Lu Weixi nodded, stepping into the elevator.

Even though it was the weekend, this area was designed for single-patient rooms and far away from the main building and the primary inpatient department, attracting only limited visitation from patients and their relatives. They were the only two in the elevator, but neither spoke, just staring at the elevator doors.

Lu Weixi realized that this elevator only stopped at this floor. She wanted to go down, to press the button for the first floor. But the buttons were on Qin Zhigu’s side. As soon as she reached for it, Qin Zhigu asked, “Which floor?”

Lu Weixi paused slightly, then said, “The first floor.”

Qin Zhigu pressed the button for the first floor, then added, “Go to whichever floor you want, please feel free.”

Qin Zhigu looked at her and said, “I’m here to see Aunt Lu.”
