Chapter 235: Chapter 234: The Heroine Is Born!
June 10th had become an important and special day, particularly for Kaminari Denki and Jiro Kyoka.
For Kyoka, it was like her own personal Valentine's Day.
Although neither of them had formally discussed it, they silently agreed in their hearts to exchange gifts on this day every year, gifts that were full of their love.
But that was a promise for the future. For now, Kaminari, who had just officially started dating Kyoka and shared an intimate moment with her, stood at the door of the duplex villa. He glanced one last time at the window of Kyoka's room on the second floor, a warm smile on his face.
"Finally, I'm no longer part of the singles club!"

An hour later, Kaminari, in high spirits, was on the Shinkansen heading back to Saitama City with Pikachu sitting on his shoulder.
"'Pikachu,' stealth mode."
Once off the Shinkansen, Kaminari headed to an inconspicuous corner, where he gave the order to the creature perched on him.
"Pika!"
Pikachu responded, its body glowing faintly with light blue energy. In the blink of an eye, both Kaminari and Pikachu disappeared from view to anyone nearby.
"Let's head home."
Moving silently through the crowd like ghosts, Kaminari and Pikachu exited the station unnoticed.
This stealth tactic had been inspired by Momo, and since Kaminari had seen her use it, he thought it was brilliant. It allowed him to avoid being targeted by villains.
It wasn't that Kaminari was afraid of confrontation, he just found it annoying. Without a Hero license, he couldn't deal with criminals lurking in the shadows without causing trouble for himself.
To be honest, if he had a Hero license right now, he wouldn't hesitate to act. Even if he didn't kill the scumbags who might come after Pikachu, he'd at least break their legs and hands.
"Man, being invisible in a crowd feels pretty nice."
Walking down a familiar street, Kaminari felt amused by the novelty of being ignored by everyone. Ever since the Hero Sports Festival, he had grown accustomed to being recognized, approached for autographs, or secretly photographed whenever he was out in public.
Now that he wasn't attracting attention, it felt odd. Humans, he realized, were such contradictory creatures.
"Wait… if I'm invisible, does that mean I could fly through the air without anyone noticing? As long as I don't go too high, I should be fine, right?"
The idea of flying suddenly popped into Kaminari's mind, and he stopped to look up at the skyline, framed by towering buildings.
The sky, bathed in the warm hues of the setting sun, looked vast and tranquil, filling him with a sense of freedom.
"'Pikachu,' let's use the golden sand to create a 'Lightning Bird.' We're flying over Saitama tonight!"
The thought excited him so much that he couldn't resist acting on it. Otherwise, he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep with such a thrilling idea lingering in his mind.
"Pika!"
Kaminari found an empty rooftop atop a nearby shopping mall. Since the stealth mode only made them invisible and didn't mask sound, he needed a secluded spot.
"Come out! Lightning Bird!"
He grabbed a golden Poké Ball from the belt on his waist and threw it high into the air, shouting dramatically like a character in a Pokémon anime.
"Boom!"
With a loud burst of light, the Poké Ball transformed into a massive golden bird, its wingspan two meters wide and its height nearly one and a half meters.
"Yeah, Zapdos is still the best choice for a flying mount!" Kaminari said as he walked toward the golden bird, stroking its shimmering feathers.
"Rayquaza is cool too, but Zapdos fits my vibe better. Plus…" Kaminari trailed off, observing the golden sand that formed the bird. "Since I can't change the sand's color, Zapdos really is the only option."
"Alright, let's fly!"
With a grin, Kaminari gave Pikachu a playful nuzzle, then jumped onto Zapdos' back with practiced ease, landing firmly.
"Feels a little slippery…" Kaminari muttered, looking down. He released a small amount of electricity into his feet, using electromagnetic forces to secure himself more firmly to Zapdos' body.
"That's better! Nice work, Pikachu!"
"Pika!"
Zapdos spread its wings with a powerful gust, and the next moment, it launched into the air with Kaminari and Pikachu riding on its back.
"Woohoo! Hahahaha!"
As the wind roared around him, Kaminari stretched his arms wide, embracing the exhilaration of flight. Below, the city sparkled with colorful lights, creating a mesmerizing view.
It wasn't just the act of flying that thrilled Kaminari—after all, he could already hover for short periods using his Quirk. What made this moment so special was that he was flying atop a Zapdos, with Pikachu on his shoulder.
For a devoted Pokémon fan, this was a dream come true. It was a shame there was no audience to witness this epic moment, but that didn't bother Kaminari in the slightest.
"Still… something feels off."
As Zapdos began to hover above the city, Kaminari thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers.
"Got it!"
"This Zapdos doesn't feel 'electric' enough!"
Because the sand lacked the ability to generate electricity, the golden bird looked impressive but didn't have the dramatic flair Kaminari wanted. It needed special effects.
"Zzzzt!"
Without hesitation, Kaminari unleashed a burst of golden electricity and directed it into the bird. Instantly, Zapdos became a dazzling spectacle of crackling lightning.
"Record this, Pikachu! Record it!" Kaminari shouted, brimming with excitement. He felt this moment was too incredible not to document.
"Pika!"
But just as Kaminari was reveling in his accomplishment, faint screams and the sound of explosions drifted up from below, disrupting his excitement. He frowned and glanced down.
"What's going on down there? Another robbery?"
To be honest, Kaminari had no intention of getting involved. He wasn't a police officer or a licensed Hero, and intervening could bring unnecessary complications.
"Wait… what?!"
Pikachu's eyes glowed blue, projecting a virtual screen in front of Kaminari. The display showed the scene below, a chaotic street, with people running and shouting.
In the middle of it all, Kaminari's father was surrounded by walls of sand created by his Quirk, trying to fend off several attackers. Some of them were even armed.
Not far away, his father's car had been flipped over, a stark contrast to the pristine vehicle that had always been parked in their garage.
Kaminari froze for a second, his mind racing.
"Pikachu, dive down! Now!"
