My Hero Academia: Complete Victory

Chapter 60: Exams.

Yes, that's right. I-Island is coming up soon and the LOV will crash that party or maybe they'll start it? I named the title with a joke as my first semester was also finishing.

The air in the dimly lit bar was thick with a lingering tension. The faint scent of alcohol and the creak of the wooden floor were the only sounds accompanying Shigaraki as he leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the desk.

Dabi and Toga had long since departed, each leaving with their cryptic reasons, but their enthusiasm for destruction lingered in Shigaraki's mind. The chaos of Hosu had made waves, but something gnawed at him: it wasn't enough.

"The Hosu Incident is still fresh in the news," Shigaraki began, his voice low and contemplative. "For now, the heroes are distracted, scrambling to reassure the public. But we're still... lackluster. We showed enough strength to rattle them, sure—but we haven't taken down any of the big names." His nails unconsciously scraped at his neck, a nervous habit that betrayed his irritation.

Kurogiri, standing dutifully nearby, considered his words carefully. "Hosu was indeed a grand spectacle, but your point is valid. Though the city was thrown into chaos, no notable heroes were truly affected. The League remains a nuisance to them, not a true threat."

Shigaraki's scowl deepened, his fingers now clawing at his skin. "Exactly. We need something more—a real statement. Something that'll make them realize we're not just playing games anymore. But..." He trailed off, his frustration mounting. "I can't see anything we can do right now. Hero Society is being cautious—they're on guard after Hosu. That makes them harder to provoke."

"That is a problem," Kurogiri mused, his tone calm yet thoughtful. "They are in a defensive stance, ensuring no more large-scale attacks occur. Their caution makes them difficult to corner."

As the two pondered, a new voice broke through the room. Calm, commanding, and layered with a grandiosity that demanded attention.

"If that is the case... do you truly want to leave a serious mark on Hero Society, Tomura?"

Shigaraki froze, his crimson eyes snapping to the glowing tablet on the wall. The display, labeled "VOICE ONLY," now pulsed faintly with light.

"Master?!" Shigaraki's demeanor shifted instantly. His body straightened, and his voice was laced with reverence. "Absolutely! I want a chance to redeem myself after the USJ!"

Kurogiri stepped forward, bowing his head slightly. "Master, I too believe Young Master Tomura deserves an opportunity to demonstrate his growth and capabilities."

The voice interrupted Kurogiri mid-sentence, its tone decisive yet tinged with amusement. "I know, Kurogiri. I had not planned to reveal this yet... but seeing Tomura so determined has inspired me. I feel like throwing the die and testing fate."

Shigaraki's breath hitched slightly as he leaned forward, eager for more.

"But, Tomura," the voice continued, its cadence slow and deliberate, "you must prove yourself worthy of this next step. I want you to learn about a certain place... I-Island. Treat it as your personal sandbox. Let the world know that nowhere is beyond the reach of the League of Villains."

The mention of I-Island sent a ripple of excitement through Shigaraki. His mind raced with possibilities, and his lips curled into a crooked grin. A sandbox, he thought. Master's giving me a playground to prove what I can do.

"I understand, Master," Shigaraki said firmly, his eyes gleaming with newfound determination. "I won't disappoint you."

The faint hum of the tablet dimmed, the voice retreating into silence. Kurogiri observed Shigaraki with quiet pride. This was the moment the League would begin its ascent.

At the Gates of UA

The morning sun cast its golden rays over UA High, the familiar gates standing tall against the backdrop of the bustling campus. Students in their uniforms hurried to class, their chatter filling the air with an undercurrent of excitement.

Among them, Izuku Midoriya stood tentatively at the entrance, his green eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of nostalgia and nervous energy.

"Man, it's been a while since I've been back..." he muttered to himself, adjusting the straps of his backpack. "I kinda miss Gran Torino, though."

The old hero's gruff voice and unorthodox methods had left an indelible mark on Izuku during his internship. Despite the grueling training, he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude—and maybe even fondness—for the eccentric mentor.

Taking a deep breath, Izuku stepped through the gates. As he walked toward the main building, he spotted a few familiar faces.

"Midoriya!" Iida Tenya's unmistakable voice boomed as the bespectacled Vice President of Class 1-A jogged over, his movements as precise as ever.

"Oh, Iida!" Izuku said, smiling as his friend approached.

"It is good to see you back at UA!" Iida said enthusiastically, adjusting his glasses. "How was your internship with Gran Torino? I trust it was productive?"

"Yeah," Izuku said, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. "It was... intense, but I learned a lot."

"Excellent! We must all strive to improve every day!" Iida declared, his usual fervor shining through.

Nearby, Uraraka waved at them with a bright smile. "Hey, Deku! Welcome back!" She jogged over, her enthusiasm infectious.

"Hi, Uraraka!" Izuku greeted, feeling the weight of his nerves lift slightly. Being back among his classmates felt... right.

As the three walked toward their classroom, the world outside the gates of UA seemed to fade away. For now, they were just students, ready to face another day of challenges and growth.

...

As Izuku, Uraraka, and Tenya Iida made their way toward the towering doors of Class 1-A, the conversation turned to their internships.

"So, you were training with Gunhead?" Izuku asked, his curiosity piqued as he glanced at Uraraka.

Uraraka grinned proudly, flexing her arm. Though she had a lithe build, her confidence made her seem larger than life. "Yep! Appearances are deceiving. My noodle arms are packing power now!" she declared, striking a mock bicep pose.

"I'm aiming for the top spot in class, and there's nothing my effort can't break through!" she added, her determination shining brightly. "I'm not even afraid of Bakugo anymore!"

Izuku blinked, genuinely surprised at her bold declaration. Before he could respond, a small figure appeared from behind Uraraka, practically radiating excitement.

"Really?!" came a high-pitched, eager voice.

Uraraka froze mid-pose, her heart dropping. Slowly, she turned to see Kurokami Tenshin standing there, his wide grin only matched by the mischievous glint in his eyes. His Class President armband gleamed against his otherwise standard UA uniform.

"So naturally, you want a strong opponent?" Kuro asked, his tone as cheerful as ever. "I'm ready! And since you're strong now, I won't hold back!"

Uraraka's confidence evaporated like mist under a scorching sun. She frantically waved her hands, her voice trembling with nervous laughter. "A-Actually! I was just joking, you see! No need to—"

But her attempt at an excuse was cut short.

"Oh, you're here, Kuro? How strange, since you didn't answer your phone when I called you," Iida's stern voice interjected, cutting through the moment like a blade.

Kuro froze, slowly turning to face the towering Vice President. "Ah... I kinda maybe... forgot it at Todoroki's house," Kuro admitted sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

Iida sighed heavily, adjusting his glasses with practiced precision. "That's... likely, knowing you. But now that I have you here, we can go over class regulations and—"

Before Iida could finish, Kuro's eyes darted around like a cornered animal. "That's great, Iida. Really amazing," Kuro mumbled, inching backward. In an instant, his figure was enveloped by a faint purple aura as he bolted down the hallway.

"Wait—!" Iida started, but it was too late.

"Well... that's convenient," Uraraka whispered, relieved that Kuro's attention had shifted away from her.

Iida's stern expression morphed into one of resolute duty. "Hmm. While running in the halls is unacceptable, apprehending a misbehaving student warrants certain liberties." With that, he crouched, the engines in his legs roaring to life.

"RECIPRO BURST!"

In a flash, Iida launched after Kuro, the echo of his engines fading into the distance.

Izuku and Uraraka stood there in silence, the bizarre exchange still fresh in their minds.

"Well... at least you don't have to suffer another 'training session' with Kuro," Izuku offered weakly, a small, understanding smile on his face.

"Yeah, that's a big plus," Uraraka admitted, the tension melting away. She clapped her hands together, her usual cheerfulness returning. "Anyway, I heard we're having another class with All Might today! This time, I'm going to show off all the progress I've made!"

"That's great," Izuku said, genuinely happy for her. But a thought tugged at the back of his mind. "Still... I feel like we've been missing someone. Even though we just got back, it's been nagging at me."

Uraraka tilted her head thoughtfully. "Hmm, maybe it's because that weird guy from Class 1-B hasn't tried anything recently?" she suggested, her frown deepening as she remembered Neito Monoma. "I mean, he's usually all over the place. It's weird for him to be so quiet."

Izuku chuckled nervously. "Yeah... maybe." But the unease lingered, a subtle sense of foreboding he couldn't shake.

Inside Class 1-A

The large door creaked open, revealing the familiar interior of their classroom. Izuku and Uraraka stepped inside, both pausing as they took in the unusual sight.

The classroom was eerily empty. The only sign of life was the familiar yellow sleeping bag sprawled near the teacher's podium—an unmistakable sign of Mr. Aizawa's presence.

"...This is awkward," Uraraka said, breaking the silence.

Izuku nodded, his brows furrowed in thought. It wasn't like their Vice President, Momo Yaoyorozu, to be absent. She was always the first to arrive, and Iida was usually downstairs taking attendance.

"Something's off," Izuku murmured.

"What do you mean?" Uraraka asked, her curiosity piqued.

Izuku paced slightly, piecing together his thoughts. "If Yaoyorozu isn't here, and she didn't say anything in the group chat... then something might be wrong."

Uraraka's eyes lit up, a playful grin spreading across her face. "I see what this is! We've got ourselves a side quest!" She hopped out of her seat, pointing dramatically toward the hallway. "We must find Vice President Yaoyorozu!"

"T-That's really impulsive, Uraraka," Izuku stammered, flustered by her sudden enthusiasm. But... she had a point. The class wouldn't officially start for another half hour, so there was no harm in looking.

As the two headed back into the hallway, Izuku couldn't help but think about how unpredictable life at UA could be. And yet, even amidst the chaos, he felt a sense of purpose.

Because this was Class 1-A—and nothing ever stayed normal for long.

...

The pair wandered down the hallway, peeking into nearby classrooms and storage rooms as they searched for Momo. Occasionally, they stopped to greet a few classmates and underclassmen who were arriving.

"I don't see her anywhere," Izuku said, scratching his head as they turned another corner. "She's not the type to just disappear."

Ochaco nodded, a frown forming on her face. "And she's definitely not the type to be late. It's weird. Maybe we should check her dorm room?"

Before Izuku could respond, a loud BANG echoed through the hallway, followed by a familiar, high-energy voice.

"KIIIIIIIII-YAAAAA! Iida, you'll never catch me!"

Both Izuku and Ochaco turned their heads just in time to see Kurokami Tenshin sprinting at full speed, his body glowing faintly with a warm purple aura. Behind him, Tenya Iida barreled down the hallway, his engines roaring with a mechanical whine.

"YOU WILL FACE DISCIPLINE, KUROKAMI!" Iida bellowed, his voice booming over the commotion.

Kuro glanced back briefly, sticking out his tongue before yelling, "NOT IF I FACE VICTORY FIRST!"

Ochaco and Izuku pressed themselves against the wall as the two tore past them, leaving a trail of chaos in their wake. Papers flew into the air, doors rattled on their hinges, and the sound of Iida's Recipro Burst echoed long after they were gone.

"Well... that's happening," Ochaco said, blinking at the dust cloud left behind.

"Class 1-A is never boring," Izuku muttered, shaking his head.

After the hallway cleared, the duo decided to head toward the dormitories. Momo might have overslept—unlikely as it seemed—or that she was there for some other reason.

As they approached the door to the girls' dorm, Ochaco paused, glancing at Izuku. "You're not allowed in here, you know," she teased lightly.

"I-I know!" Izuku stammered, taking a step back. "I wasn't going to go inside!"

"I'll check," Ochaco said with a grin, vanishing inside. A moment later, she returned, shaking her head. "Her room's empty. But I found this on her desk." She held up a small, leather-bound notebook with Momo's initials embossed on the front.

"That's her planner," Izuku said, recognizing the meticulous handwriting on the open page.

Ochaco flipped through it, scanning the entries. "Hmm... looks like she had something scheduled for this morning. It says, 'Special Training—6:30 AM.' But there's no location written here."

Izuku frowned. "Special training? That doesn't sound like something we'd normally do before class. Who would be running it?"

Ochaco shrugged, closing the planner and tucking it under her arm. "Beats me. But it's a lead, right? Let's check the gym—maybe she's training there."

[Auther: Yo, been awhile eh? Bet you didn't expect another one, huh? Anyway, I seem to always do these little slice-of-life chapters despite having a clear plan. Like I'm writing about a fight scene, I suddenly get a comedy scene built.

Do they have dorms this early? I can't remember...well, it doesn't matter much. It's just a little mistake in a filler scene.]
