Chapter 8: Chapter 8 Another Test!
Liu Chen muttered to himself as he wiped his body.
After drying off, Liu Chen returned to his bedroom.
Lying on the bed, eyes closed, the scene of Qin Lu bathing dominated his mind, impossible to dismiss.
He didn't know how much time had passed before he finally drifted off to sleep.
The next morning at seven o'clock, Liu Chen woke up on time, opened his eyes to look at the sun-filled room and couldn't help but smile, appreciating the comfort of a life free from sudden emergencies.
Thinking this, Liu Chen dressed and took his basin and toiletries beside the bed before heading straight to the bathroom, opening the door and walking in.
He hadn't thought much about it, just intending to freshen up, but to his surprise, there was already someone inside, and it was none other than Qin Lu, who had just fastened her bra.
Liu Chen was slightly stunned by the sight.
"Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to,"
he hastily said, then exited the bathroom.
But in his heart, Liu Chen felt a bit gleeful; although he had seen her the day before, today's view was much clearer and more enchanting.
Seeing Liu Chen hurriedly leave, Qin Lu's face turned slightly red, and she too felt a sigh of relief.
After straightening her clothes, Qin Lu left the bathroom and looked quietly at Liu Chen, her expression icy, inscrutable.
Seeing Qin Lu's cold expression, Liu Chen couldn't help but say, "Sorry, I really didn't mean to."
"Shameless."
Qin Lu said icily, then turned and walked away.
With an innocent look, Liu Chen entered the bathroom, quickly freshened up, and after grabbing some food, he left the room heading towards Yongde Security Company.
It was rush hour on the streets, bustling with traffic and people, as Liu Chen mingled with the crowd arriving at Yongde Security Company by 7:50 AM.
Entering the company, what struck Liu Chen was unusual: besides the woman named Cai Yin he had met the day before, he didn't see anyone else.
This made Liu Chen curious. Could such a large security company really have just the two of us?
As Liu Chen was wondering this, Cai Yin, standing behind the reception desk, couldn't help but smile and say: "Liu Chen, come, let me take you to the changing room.
Try on the uniform we've prepared for you to see if it fits."
Saying this, Cai Yin stepped from behind the desk, beaming at Liu Chen.
Liu Chen smiled and agreed, following Cai Yin to the door of a room, where Cai Yin handed him a small key: "Go ahead, the clothes are in locker number one, try them on to see if they fit."
"Okay."
Liu Chen said, walking into the changing room and using the key to open locker number one.
Inside, there were two sets of light blue uniforms, seemingly of different sizes that Cai Yin had prepared for him.
He quickly changed into one set, stretched his legs, and shook his shoulders, feeling it wasn't quite right.
Just then, Liu Chen frowned, twitching his right ear as muffled thumps reached his ears.
At that moment, a look of realization flashed across Liu Chen's eyes—it seemed the security company's staff were training upstairs.
Thinking it over, Liu Chen changed into another outfit, stretched his arms, and raised his legs before finally walking out of the room satisfied.
Seeing Cai Yin outside, Liu Chen couldn't help but say, "This set fits me very well."
"Yes, it really does fit well. Okay, go to work. Just stand in front of the main door; if you're tired, you can sit on the sofa for a rest.
If you smoke, please go to the changing room or the restroom,"
Cai Yin said as she walked, smiling as if holding considerable authority in her role as a receptionist.
Liu Chen walked alongside, responding to Cai Yin's words. He was very curious about this security company.
But upon reflection, he thought that he was just here to make a living, and overthinking was useless.
That morning, Liu Chen paced back and forth in front of the door, quite bored, and not a single person entered the company.
"Liu Chen, it's half-past eleven, come upstairs with me for lunch,"
Cai Yin called out with a smile,
She had been watching Liu Chen all morning but hadn't noticed anything amiss, which made her even more curious about him.
As a woman and a skilled professional, Cai Yin had a hunch. She felt Liu Chen was not as simple as he appeared, so she was quite interested in him.
"Oh, okay."
Already bored, Liu Chen agreed, walking alongside Cai Yin as they left, leaving the empty lobby behind.
For a company, this seemed rather strange.
Cai Yin led Liu Chen straight to the third floor, which housed a massive dining hall.
For the first time, Liu Chen saw the staff of Yongde Security Company. Roughly speaking, there were no fewer than four or five hundred people, and more importantly, each one had a considerable level of skill—that was the key point!
"How about that? The people in our company are quite skilled, aren't they?"
Cai Yin asked, standing in front of Liu Chen with a beaming smile, her mesmerizing eyes intently studying his face as if trying to discern something.
"Yes, quite impressive skills,"
Liu Chen said, surprised. But as soon as he had spoken, he regretted it. He realized he had been tricked.
Cai Yin was clearly testing him, and he was indeed shocked by these people's skills, momentarily falling for the bait.
"Giggle, so you were also pretending during yesterday's test?"
Cai Yin said with a mischievous grin, her gaze containing a hint of coercion.
"Uh, Miss Cai Yin, what are you talking about? What pretending?"
Liu Chen said blankly, his eyes deeply confused, as if he couldn't understand at all what Cai Yin was talking about.
Seeing Liu Chen's utterly perplexed look, Cai Yin was momentarily taken aback, then said with a smile: "Didn't you just say that the people here are quite strong?
Since you can recognize their strength, why bother pretending?"
