My Girlfriend is an Evil Woman

Chapter 43 - My Daughter Caused Trouble for You

Vegetables rained down on Kitahara Hideji’s head, making him scramble to dodge the barrage. Just as he was dodging the flying tomatoes, eggplants, and round-headed cabbages, Fukuzawa Fuyumi charged at him like a bullet, slamming into his chest.

In the chaos, Kitahara Hideji’s stick hesitated, and he was unable to strike back immediately. By the time he recovered, Fukuzawa Fuyumi had already pinned him against the wall, holding him by the collar to prevent him from escaping. She attempted to choke him with her other hand, but her height didn’t allow for much force.

Furious, Fukuzawa Fuyumi shouted, “You despicable person! How dare you target my sisters! Today, only one of us will leave this place alive!”

Kitahara Hideji struggled to loosen her grip on his collar while trying to stop her from scratching him. He insisted, “I didn’t intend to harm them!”

He was cursing his luck, wondering how he had ended up in this mess at the little radish’s hideout.

Fukuzawa Fuyumi paid no attention to his words. She acted like a mother tiger returning home to find her cubs in danger. She was ready to confront the wolf that dared to harm her young ones, even if it meant putting her own life on the line.

Kitahara Hideji desperately tried to free himself, but Fukuzawa Fuyumi was unyielding. It was as if she had turned into a fierce tigress protecting her family, finding a wolf at the pot and getting ready for the meal. There was no escaping her wrath.

Kitahara Hideji tried to reason with her, but she was too enraged to listen. She had unleashed a furious storm of wild punches and attacks upon him. He found it difficult to defend against her reckless barrage of punches and scratches, more akin to a brawler than a swordsman.

He knew that in a Sword Technique battle, he would have easily outmatched her, but against her wild and relentless attacks, it was a different story.

After struggling for a while, Kitahara Hideji managed to lift Fukuzawa Fuyumi off the ground, flipping her over to restrain her. He held her neck and pressed his knee against her backside to prevent her short legs from kicking him. The pain in his neck from her earlier attack had made him angry too, and he shouted, “Enough! Stop this nonsense!”

Just as Kitahara Hideji shouted to stop the madness, he felt a sudden weight on his leg. Natsuo had grabbed one of his legs, while Natsuha clung to the other. Both of them yelled in unison, “Haruna-nee, hurry!”

At the same time, Haruna had raised her stick, her expression unchanged, ready to strike him on the head.

Kitahara Hideji was exasperated. The Fukuzawa Family members had no sense of fair competition at all. They were clearly planning to gang up on him – it seemed he might actually get beaten up and thrown into the backstreet garbage dump today.

“Stop! Cough cough… all of you, stop!”

A loud shout halted the chaos. Kitahara Hideji opened his eyes and saw a tall man standing at the door, partially obscured by backlighting, making it hard to see his face. Fukuzawa Yukari was behind him, anxiously calling out, “What’s going on inside? Dad, move aside and let me take a look too!”

The commotion outside caused a temporary calm inside. However, Kitahara Hideji suddenly felt a sharp pain in his hand. He looked down to find Fukuzawa Fuyumi biting onto his wrist, her little tiger teeth sunk in. She glared at him fiercely, still biting as if she was about to explode with anger.

“Daughter, stop biting our guest!” The man shouted again, but this time his voice seemed a bit weak.

Taking a few breaths, he addressed Kitahara Hideji, “I apologize for this. Could you please let go of my daughter for now?”

Kitahara Hideji hesitated for a moment before carefully setting Fukuzawa Fuyumi down. However, she continued to hold onto his wrist, refusing to let go. Kitahara Hideji shook his hand, but she clung on stubbornly, as if she were a snapping turtle with an unyielding bite. He endured the pain and looked towards the man standing at the door, waiting to see what would happen next.

Seeing how the man responded, it seemed like he was also angry. He shouted once again, “Daughter!”

Haruna stepped forward and pulled Fuyumi away, and only then did Fukuzawa Fuyumi reluctantly release her grip and start spitting in disgust. Haruna quickly took out a handkerchief and wiped her sister’s mouth.

The man, Fukuzawa Naotaka, walked inside and gave a slight bow in greeting to Kitahara Hideji, saying politely, “I apologize for the rudeness. I am Fukuzawa Naotaka, the owner of Junmi-ya. I am deeply sorry for everything that happened.”

Kitahara Hideji massaged his wrist and returned the bow, “Hello, Fukuzawa-san. I am Kitahara Hideji, a classmate of Reia. It’s nice to meet you.”

Fukuzawa Naotaka bowed again and then looked around the room, asking, “May I ask what happened here?”

Kitahara Hideji was about to answer, but Natsuo and Natsuha jumped in first, saying in unison, “We were doing our homework, and this person suddenly burst in and started attacking us!”

Kitahara Hideji was speechless for a moment. Was he someone who had nothing better to do than to come and attack them while they were doing homework? Did he plan on stealing their in-game items?

Fukuzawa Naotaka’s gaze shifted between the twin sisters’ faces, not quite believing their words. He sternly warned, “If you’re lying, you won’t receive any pocket money this year!”

Natsuo and Natsuha exchanged a glance and then pointed their fingers at Haruna in unison, betraying her, “Haruna-nee told us to say that. We don’t know anything!”

Fukuzawa Naotaka looked surprised and turned his gaze to Haruna. However, Haruna just stood there with her expression unchanged, not refuting the accusation. Kitahara Hideji sighed and said, “Fukuzawa-san, I came here originally to apply for a job. It’s just that I didn’t know this was your house… your daughter and I had some minor disagreements at school, and because of that, your third daughter may have misunderstood me. She put something in my tea and wanted to beat me up to vent her frustration for your eldest daughter… As for the issues between your eldest daughter and me…”

He couldn’t explain the complicated relationship between him and Fuyumi for a while, and now it seems unclear who the victim is. At this moment, Fukuzawa Yukari finally squeezed through from her father’s side, carrying a large sack of rice and a huge burden on her back. When she saw Kitahara Hideji, she was slightly stunned and then said admiringly, ‘Wow, it’s really you! Did you dare to challenge our whole family and plan to annihilate us? You truly are the man I admire, so fearless.’

Kitahara Hideji was surrounded by the Fukuzawa family, feeling a bit pressured. He glanced at Yukari, the idiot, and shook his head, unable to say anything more — it was even more confusing to talk to this fool.

Fukuzawa Naotaka didn’t quite understand either. He walked over and picked up the tea on the table, sniffed it, then asked “Haruna, what’s inside?”

Haruna calmly replied, ‘Strong laxatives.’

“Where did they come from?”

Haruna remained silent with her mouth shut. Yukari, seemingly afraid of her sister being punished, cheerfully admitted, “I got them from a street thug. They looked fun, so I brought them home… This medicine is really powerful. I took a sip and couldn’t stop running to the toilet all day.'”

Fukuzawa Naotaka glanced at his second daughter and seemed to have no good way to deal with this tough girl. He turned to Fuyumi and asked, “Eldest daughter, what’s the conflict between you and this Kitahara-san? What did you do at school?”

Fuyumi tilted her head, snorted, but didn’t speak. Her face was full of displeasure — seeing Kitahara Hideji now brought up all the old grudges and new resentments. Today at school, she felt that everyone’s eyes were mocking her.

Fukuzawa Naotaka turned to Yukari and asked, “Do you know?”

“Of course, I know! Sister wanted to take me to school for free, right? Since I didn’t pass the exam for Kitahara’s school, I couldn’t get a full scholarship. After calculating the expenses, she got angry about the money and scolded him at home. It seems she always wanted to beat him up at school. Then, during Kendo class, somehow they started fighting. Sister was no match for him, physically and mentally defeated. She ran away embarrassed, looking like a panicked pig or mouse, jumping up and down, tears streaming down her face. That’s probably how it went… Ah, I’m just being honest and reliable. Why is sister looking at me like that?” Yukari cheerfully finished her explanation but saw Fuyumi glaring at her with a look that could devour her, so she quickly retreated behind their father.

Fukuzawa Naotaka completely understood. He knew his eldest daughter’s nature to some extent, and calling her a scoundrel would be an understatement. He turned to Kitahara Hideji and deeply bowed, full of apology, and said, “I’m truly sorry, Kitahara-kun. My daughter has caused you trouble.”
