My Girlfriend is an Evil Woman

Chapter 1 - Only Fools Fall in Love

“Kitahara-san, please go out with me!”

A love letter abruptly pierced in front of Kitahara Hideji. If he hadn’t tilted his head back, he would have been stabbed to death. He looked at the girl in front of him, feeling somewhat irritated, unsure which act she was putting on. After a while, he said, “Himuro-san, I’m sorry, but I don’t have any plans for a romantic relationship at the moment, so…”

Before he could finish his sentence, the girl already raised her head in astonishment, interrupting him with disbelief, “Um… Kitahara-san, I’m Takasaki Mako.”

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

Kitahara Hideji fell into a momentary silence, then lowered his head to apologize—no matter what, calling someone by the wrong name and surname was disrespectful. However, he couldn’t entirely blame himself. This girl did look somewhat familiar. She should be a classmate, but all the girls in the class were around the same age, usually wearing the same school uniform, even their tone and manner of speaking were similar. If he hadn’t closely examined their faces… it was truly difficult to distinguish them.

After silently apologizing, Kitahara Hideji glanced at his watch, indicating that he was in a hurry, and softly said, “Takasaki, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to have lunch.”

Although he got her surname wrong, he felt that he had already expressed his meaning clearly and didn’t need to repeat it. After speaking, he planned to bypass Takasaki Mako, but she swiftly sidestepped and blocked his way, somewhat anxious as she said, “Um, please wait, Kitahara-san. I haven’t finished speaking!”

She stood in his path, feeling a bit embarrassed but still showing some courage as she continued, “Kitahara-san, I know confessing suddenly is quite audacious, and it might trouble you, but please believe me, I’m not a frivolous person!” She explained, blushing even more, slightly turning her face to the side, and twirling her black hair that hung down her ear with her slender, fair fingers. She added, “Two days ago, during lunchtime, I saw you in the library…”

As she spoke, she reminisced about that afternoon—in the gentle and radiant sunlight, the handsome young man sat by the window, engrossed in reading, his eyes deep and focused… That earnest posture was truly attractive, tugging at the heartstrings, and giving a sense of comfort and reliability.

“Perhaps it was love at first sight! Please, don’t make fun of me! These past few days, I’ve been thinking… I’ve been thinking how wonderful it would be if I could be with you, Kitahara-san. Although we haven’t known each other for long, I want to get to know you better. But I’m worried you might develop feelings for someone else, so…” She was genuinely serious, hoping to try dating Kitahara Hideji, but after stumbling over her words for a while and becoming excessively shy, she couldn’t continue. With anticipation, she directly asked, “Or maybe we can start as friends?”

From friends to lovers, three years would be enough time. At the very least, she couldn’t let her confession end in rejection!

Go for it, Mako!

Kitahara Hideji remained expressionless as he patiently listened while carefully studying Takasaki Mako’s facial expressions. He found her to be genuinely sincere, but he wasn’t interested in pursuing a romantic relationship at the moment. He straightforwardly stated, “Takasaki, although I’m sorry, let me put it this way: you’re not my type.”

‘Huh?!’ Takasaki couldn’t believe that Kitahara Hideji was so unyielding and unwilling to even consider the heartfelt confession she had just made. After hesitating for a moment, she asked, ‘Then, Kitahara-san, what type do you like?’

She had confidence in herself. While her academic performance might not match up to his, she was above average, ranking near the top of her class. She had decent athletic abilities, and her talents shone through when she received first place as part of a group and second place individually in the Classical Music Competition at the Municipal Junior High School. What’s more, she was blessed with good looks and a well-toned figure. If Kitahara Hideji had expressed a preference for a certain type, such as someone with long, straight, black hair reaching their waist, an elegant figure, or shared interests, she was fully confident she could fulfill those criteria.

Unfortunately, Kitahara Hideji’s response was a direct blow to her.

‘Takasaki, the type I like is a loli—a girl between eight and fourteen years old. Eight years old is the best!’

Takasaki Mako was stunned. Even with all her confidence, she couldn’t muster the audacity to live her life in reverse, going from sixteen years old back to eight. She stood there for a moment, finding it difficult to believe, and asked with disbelief, ‘Are you… are you joking? Isn’t this… isn’t this just a weirdo?’ Who would confess their love and say they like lolis? What kind of nonsense was this? This was her first confession, and it was being treated like this?

‘I’m not joking. I’m just a sicko!’ Kitahara Hideji glanced at the time, feeling like he had wasted too much time already. He planned to spend his lunch break in the library, flipping through some books. He emphasized, ‘I’m not interested in girls over fourteen years old. It’s just the way I am, so… Takasaki, can I go now?'”

…………………..
Kitahara Hideji briskly headed towards the cafeteria on the school grounds. There weren’t many students going to the cafeteria, as most of them brought their own packed lunches from home. Kitahara Hideji, being far away from home for his studies, didn’t have that luxury. However, the school cafeteria provided subsidized meals. Although the taste was average, the prices were cheap, and the portions were sufficient to fill one’s stomach.

He didn’t dwell on how Takasaki Mako, whom he had rejected, might be feeling, nor did he mind if she spread rumors out of anger. Although he wasn’t into Lolitas or anything perverse, he wished for Takasaki Mako to spread rumors and make all the girls hate him. That way, no one would bother him anymore.

To engage in a romantic relationship during high school, what a foolish thing to do! Wasting time for a relationship destined to have no outcome—what a joke! Life is extremely short, consisting of a mere 20,000 days. There is no room for reckless squandering!

But in this situation… He couldn’t physically harm these young girls, nor was it appropriate to lash out at them with insults. The only option left was to degrade himself for self-preservation.

Hopefully, they wouldn’t bother him again. Please, just stay away!

The behavior of these young girls was utterly inexplicable! What was the reason behind all this?

In early April, the midday sun was bright and gentle. His reflection appeared on the glass windows of the corridor. He glanced sideways, looking at this somewhat unfamiliar face. His head still throbbed— the youth in the window had a slender figure but was extremely handsome. He had well-defined eyebrows, sparkling eyes, a perfect high-bridged nose, and slightly naturally curled hair that gave him a mixed-race vibe. He belonged to the type of protagonist that viewers could identify as the righteous lead as soon as they appeared in a TV drama.

Apart from his slightly pale complexion, even as a man, one had to acknowledge that he was a handsome young man!

However, in less than ten days since the start of the school year, he had already found four love letters in his shoe locker, and today someone even “ambushed” him with a direct confession. Was it his face that caused this trouble, or was it due to his high “charisma” stat?

High school was like locking a group of love-struck rabbits together, causing endless headaches! What should he do with these troubles that appeared out of nowhere? He couldn’t possibly wash his face with sulfuric acid, right? Or redistribute his points to lower his “charisma” stat to 10 or below? But even acquiring a stat reset item was a problem…

Lost in his thoughts, he hurriedly made his way to the cafeteria. At the entrance, he immediately noticed two troublemakers—this time, two boys who, for some inexplicable reason, had assumed themselves to be his friends on the day of the opening ceremony of the 7th year at Private Fukuda Academy.

“Kitahara, why are you so slow!”

One of them, a skinny guy with a buzz-cut, greeted Kitahara Hideji. Kitahara Hideji glanced at him. This guy’s name was Uchida Yuma. Although he looked a bit shady, in reality, he was indeed quite shady. His appearance could be described as having sneaky eyes and a mischievous expression, like a sly villain or a treacherous sidekick who specialized in giving wicked advice to the main antagonist.

His hobby was ogling girls, with the kind of gaze that resembled a scavenger eyeing a carcass, wanting to devour it but fearing it might not be dead yet. It hadn’t even been ten days since the start of the school year, and he already had a terrible reputation among the girls. Kitahara Hideji inadvertently overheard some girls chatting and they expressed how disgusted and uncomfortable they felt when Uchida Yuma stared at them, as if trapped in a nightmare.

As for the person beside Uchida Yuma, it was Shima Rei, a childhood friend of Uchida Yuma. They miraculously ended up in the same class from kindergarten to elementary school and now in high school. If one of them were to be replaced by a girl, it would be the standard template of childhood friends who were destined to get married. Unfortunately, they were both boys, so they could only be considered as good buddies.

Unlike Uchida Yuma, Shima Rei left a more positive impression on Kitahara Hideji. This boy had a gentle nature and wasn’t very talkative. He was polite to others and had good manners, especially when it came to dealing with people and things. He had good upbringing and was considerate of others, making him relatively easy to get along with.

Kitahara Hideji casually nodded at Uchida Yuma, while Uchida Yuma leaned in with a gossipy expression and asked in a low voice, “Kitahara, what did Takasaki want from you? Hehe, did she confess her feelings to you?” Earlier, the three of them were on their way to the cafeteria when Takasaki Mako caught up with them. Uchida Yuma was actually curious to hear what Takasaki Mako had to say, but Shima Rei forcibly dragged him away. Now, he couldn’t contain his curiosity—he had an extremely inquisitive nature and particularly enjoyed prying into matters, especially those involving relationships.

Kitahara Hideji avoided answering and headed straight into the cafeteria, smiling and saying, “Sorry for keeping you waiting. Let’s hurry and have lunch!”

As Kitahara Hideji entered the cafeteria ahead, Uchida Yuma had initially intended to tease him. But now, seeing Kitahara Hideji’s non-response, Uchida Yuma’s suspicion grew, and he exclaimed in surprise, “Did she really confess to you?”

Kitahara Hideji didn’t want to admit it, but he also didn’t want to lie about such a trivial matter and compromise his integrity. He gave a vague nod, and Uchida Yuma was taken aback. After a moment, he quickly caught up with Kitahara Hideji and eagerly asked, “Did you accept? Ah, you must have accepted!” He pounded his chest and stomped his feet, saying, “Takasaki is great, she’s beautiful with a good figure. I’ve had my eye on her for a long time and was planning to make my move. I didn’t expect you to beat me to it!”

Kitahara Hideji looked at him helplessly and said, “I didn’t accept!”

Uchida Yuma was even more astonished. He stuck close to Kitahara Hideji and even reached out as if to grab his neck, incessantly babbling, “You didn’t accept? Kitahara, are you stupid? High school is like a battleground. It’s always about being quick to seize opportunities. You don’t want to be the one who misses out on taking the lead? You can have a girlfriend in the first year of high school, what more do you want? What a waste… You’ll definitely regret it in the future…”

Kitahara Hideji ignored him. Uchida Yuma was like a rabbit in heat, always. He headed straight to the food counter, determined to make his purchase quickly. There were so many things to do, and he couldn’t waste time!

Study, get into a prestigious university, start a business, succeed in a career, establish a solid financial foundation, and then find someone to marry and have children—that’s the correct trajectory of life.

Only fools engage in love affairs at this stage!
