Chapter 13:
Chapter 13: Do You Know What Your Son Did?:
Qin Yan sneered and released his grip, letting Liu Xinyao collapse to the ground once more.
Then he turned his gaze to Xiao Fan. “It’s been a while now. Why haven’t Xiao Fan’s parents and sister arrived yet?”
Xiao Fan, startled back to reality, looked at Qin Yan and began pleading. “Qin Yan, this is all my fault. I’ve made mistakes. You can kill me, chop me up, whatever you want—just leave my parents alone!”
Hearing his desperate pleas, Qin Yan smirked disdainfully. “Now you beg for mercy? Where was this attitude earlier?” His tone grew colder. “Wait patiently. When your family arrives, I’ll make sure they see the mess their ‘good son’ has caused.”
Xiao Fan’s face filled with despair. Gritting his teeth, he growled like a cornered beast, “Qin Yan, you’re going too far!”
Qin Yan ignored him.
To Qin Yan, Xiao Fan was nothing more than a hypocrite—a man who lived by double standards. His audacity to crash someone else’s engagement party, especially one involving a powerful family like the Qin family, was absurd.
Even an ordinary family would see this as an unforgivable insult. Yet Xiao Fan seemed to believe he was justified, as if he were a noble hero.
About twenty minutes later, two Qin family warriors returned, escorting a middle-aged couple and a young girl of about seventeen or eighteen. The couple looked ordinary, their expressions uneasy. The girl, delicate and refined, exuded an air of innocence.
This was Xiao Fan’s family.
The moment Xiao Fan saw them, his eyes turned blood-red with fury.
“Qin Yan, you beast!” he yelled.
Qin Yan remained calm, offering only a faint smile. His attention shifted to the three newcomers.
As they entered the courtyard, their eyes landed on the corpses littering the ground. Xiao’s mother and Xiao Ruyi, Xiao Fan’s sister, screamed in terror and clung to Father Xiao. Despite his own trembling, Father Xiao held them close and covered their eyes with his hands.
Qin Yan observed this display and nodded slightly. “Not bad,” he thought. “He looks like a real man now.” Perhaps Xiao Fan’s frequent cries of “Come at me if you dare!” had been influenced by his father’s demeanor.
While he acknowledged Father Xiao’s protective instincts, Qin Yan felt no sympathy. His voice was cold as he asked, “Are you Xiao Fan’s family?”
Father Xiao looked from Qin Yan to his beaten and bruised son lying on the ground. He had no idea what Xiao Fan had done to provoke such a catastrophic situation. However, as a father, he felt compelled to answer. “Yes, I’m Xiao Fan’s father. I don’t know what he did to offend you, but—”
Xiao’s mother and Xiao Ruyi, still trembling, peeked out from Father Xiao’s arms.
Xiao’s mother stammered, “Young Master, what… what did my son do?”
Qin Yan turned his sharp gaze to Xiao Fan. “Do you want to explain, or should I?”
Xiao Fan glared at Qin Yan, bitterness in his eyes, before addressing his family. “I didn’t do anything wrong! He’s just a spoiled playboy from a wealthy family who’s targeting me!”
Hearing this, the Xiao family looked at Qin Yan with confusion and doubt. Though they didn’t dare to speak, their eyes questioned him.
Qin Yan scoffed at Xiao Fan’s defiance.
He approached Liu Xinyao, who was muttering incoherently, and growled, “Speak the truth. If you lie, I’ll cut you apart piece by piece.”
Liu Xinyao shuddered violently. Her gaze shifted to Xiao Fan, filled with intense hatred. Then she turned to his family and screamed, “Xiao Fan lied to me!”
Father Xiao, momentarily feeling pity for Liu Xinyao’s disheveled and frantic state, frowned and asked, “Miss, I know my son. He’s terrible at lying. What exactly did he lie about?”
Liu Xinyao let out a nervous laugh, her voice tinged with hysteria. “What did he lie about? He lied to my body!”
The Xiao family froze in shock, their faces filled with disbelief as they stared at Xiao Fan. They couldn’t comprehend that he might have done such a thing.
Liu Xinyao’s laughter turned bitter. “A year ago, I went to your city on business, and your son tricked me. He took advantage of me!”
“You’re lying!” Xiao Fan shouted, panicked. His image in his parents’ eyes was crumbling, and he couldn’t allow it. “I saved you! If it weren’t for me, you don’t know how many men would have humiliated you!”
“Rubbish!” Liu Xinyao snapped through gritted teeth. “I gave you my information. Do you think the Liu family wouldn’t have been able to save me? Even if they couldn’t, the Qin family’s power could have! Don’t act like you were my only hope!”
Xiao Fan opened his mouth to retort but found himself at a loss for words.
Liu Xinyao continued, her voice filled with scorn. “I didn’t even hold it against you for what you did. I made it clear that there could never be anything between us. But after you came to the capital, you became obsessed. You knew I was Qin Yan’s girlfriend, yet you kept pursuing me!”
She glared at him, her voice rising. “And as if lying to me wasn’t enough, you used me to get resources from Qin Yan. Xiao Fan, do you dare deny any of this?”
Xiao Fan’s face turned crimson. “You gave me those things willingly!” he shouted defensively.
The Xiao family, now utterly bewildered, stared at Xiao Fan in disbelief.
They hadn’t expected him to cause such chaos in the capital—meddling in someone else’s relationship and even exploiting their resources.
At this moment, father Xiao felt a sharp pain in his chest. How had his son turned out like this?
“Enough,” Qin Yan interrupted, his voice commanding. He looked at the Xiao family, his tone icy. “Now do you understand what your son has done?”
He paused briefly before adding, “Oh, and one more thing. Today was supposed to be my engagement day with my girlfriend. But your son barged into the ceremony and kidnapped her. As parents, tell me, how would you feel if Xiao Fan were the groom, and someone took his bride away?”
Father Xiao froze, stunned by the scenario. He shook his head slowly, unable to speak.
Even imagining such an event was infuriating, let alone experiencing it. If it were his son’s wedding, he would’ve wanted to strangle the culprit.
But under the current circumstances, he could only lower his head and plead. “Young Master, I understand that my son has made terrible mistakes. I’ll kowtow to you if that’s what it takes. Please… let him go.”
