Chapter 15: Chapter 15 "Creating an Arsenal Vehical from Garbage (Part 1)"
What a relief! I thought this would be some random searching skill, and I wouldn't be able to find something I wanted.
Then he headed towards the parking lot, looking for any vehicle he could get his hands on.
"There can't be even a single one that can be repaired?" On his way, he only met with either broken vehicle doors, car bonnets, and wasted tires.
However, he couldn't restore them into a full-fledged car. The door would be restored, but what would he do with only a single door? And another option was to restore it into metal plates, which might come in handy later.
The condition of the tire and bonnet was the same. He could either restore them into a brand new thing, or they ended up as just processed rubber, and the same goes for the bonnet: either brand new or just a piece of metal.
On his way, Ray collected all these items, without considering if they would be useful or not. Later he would discard the actual waste, which couldn't be of any use.
"My only hope right now is the fuel station. There should be at least a single car or a truck, unless someone has deliberately destroyed everything."
…
[Search failed]
[Expanding the searching area]
[Finding rare item: vehicle]
[Search succeeded]
[Seven vehicles are detected]
[status: Need restoration]
…
'Finally!' A hope ignited in his heart, and he ran towards the fuel station, which was three miles from his location.
He only stopped when he either felt tired or to pick up the defective items, including small car parts.
[Clearance Lights (Dead)]
[Spark Plug (Dead)]
Almost every part he found was either in dead condition or broken in a way that restoring those items felt irrelevant. Even then, he stored them in his pocket dimension and came 500 meters closer to the fuel station.
To his right was a broken truck. Its full body was destroyed, giving it the look of a KAMAAZ truck. The back had a storage area which was half-destroyed, while the other half was flooded with rusting.
It also had dried bloodstains on it and a half-burnt word that said 'cattle transport vehicle.' Ray decided to use it as his last priority.
But he didn't directly store it in his pocket dimension, which he could have, but he decided to first look at all seven vehicles, restore the right one, and then store others, if needed.
Second, he stopped at another big vehicle. It was a double-decker bus with only the front area remaining.
"It would have been used as a city bus," he thought, but the bus wasn't something he even wanted to think about.
Next, he stopped at a car, looking like a Maazda 1. A small car with its engine gone, the front was bent in a U shape. Just like others, it was also in poor condition.
Then, just like that, he ended up looking at one truck, one bus, three cars, and a bicycle at the edge of the fuel station. Out of all the seven vehicles, he ended up restoring the SUV, with a Huummer-like brand. However, it didn't solve his problem.
He was missing the engine of the Huummer, and the only available engines he had were a bus engine and a truck engine or the old engine of Model T car which wasn't suitable for SUVs. 'Should I try installing those in this?' he thought.
"No! What I want to make is an arsenal vehicle." He outright rejected the idea of using the wrong engine because there was no guarantee that the car would work properly with the wrong engine.
Then the only thing which was least damaged was the truck he saw for the first time. The reason for choosing the truck was that it was a heavy vehicle, so it could withstand heavy installation.
Second, its engine was intact, and third was the modification which would be best for either the truck or the Huummer, which he decided to toss into the dimensional pocket and find a suitable engine for it later.
After that, except for the KAMAAZ truck, Ray decided to use the restoration skill to scrap all other vehicle, including the bicycle and restore their unimportant parts into various raw materials, while leaving only those parts intact which could be used in his truck.
[Skill: Restoration]
[Truck (KAMAAZ) has been restored to its original form.]
With the restoration skill, the truck became all new, including its old damaged parts. As for the missing parts? They were replaced by the parts from other vehicles and raw materials like leather, metal, and even rubber, which restored the tires.
Ray looked at the truck with half-satisfaction. "This looks good, but it isn't going to survive a couple of attacks."
[Skill: Modification]
Then with every material he had, he decided to modify the truck into an arsenal vehicle, which he could use to venture into places that might be dangerous at his current level, or for incidents when he might be surrounded by a large number of enemies, or just using this as a moving shelter.
"But this isn't going to be easy." He then used every single thing in his pocket dimension to modify the truck into a moving fortress, only leaving the Hummer.
