Chapter 533: S3 Monaco Grand Prix. 7

Despite the cloud Luigi's outburst had cast earlier, the Monaco Grand Prix conclusion celebration carried on well into the night, glittering under the Riviera moonlight.

The Monaco Grand Prix had always been known for its lavish endings, a final flourish to match the glamour of the race itself, and this year was no exception. As the fervour of the day's on-track drama gradually eased, the principality glowed in the aftertaste of speed and spectacle.

All across the world, viewers who had been glued to their screens all afternoon, morning, or night finally switched off their televisions, their last images filled with glittering lights and victorious smiles.

The podium was, by far, the most peaceful one of the season so far. This time, all three drivers complied exactly as expected and participated in the tradition. It was the same podium finishers from the last race, but the spots were jumbled now.

They climbed up without delay, standing in their rightful spots and pouring their champagne with a sense of formality rather than flair, before promptly hopping off to leave the stage for the main winner, Luca.

Luca, who was now used to standing at the center of the podium's attention, took command with a wide grin as confetti lay scattered across his shoulders and head.

He gripped his trophy firmly, raising it once more in a calm, assured gesture that drew another dazzling burst of confetti, a deafening roar from the German crowd present, and a warm round of applause from the presenters.

[Ding!]

Luca kept a confident smile on his face as he posed with his trophy, the flashes from cameras lighting him up while he answered the press like it was duty.

He was absolutely smashing the season—and he knew it, just as everyone else did.

He was absolutely smashing the season—and he knew it, just as everyone else did.

Four wins in six races? Just wow. At this pace, he was on the verge of breaking the great Maldonado's record of five victories in seven, a milestone that suddenly felt well within reach.

Assured of his dominance in the drivers' standings, Luca's thoughts often drifted to the Constructors', where Squadra Corse were clinging on by a thread, race after race, refusing to let Trampos overtake them despite his relentless attempts.

At least there was progress toward finally dethroning them. After the last race in Canada, Trampos were behind by a 13-point gap; now, thanks to this win, that margin had been slashed to just six.

When Luca thought about it, Squadra's grip on the Constructors' standings was simply because of the balance between their drivers, as both consistently pulled in average but steady points for the team every race.

Trampos Racing was a contrast to this because Luca was almost carrying the weight alone.

While Victor, his own teammate, struggled with a highest haul of just two points in any race, Marko regularly delivered an average of eight points per round. Over time, that quiet reliability tilted the scales in Squadra's favour, always keeping them just ahead despite Luca's heroics.

Luca was confident that, with time, the gap would close. He believed that as long as he kept delivering strong results and the team found a way to lift Victor's performance, the balance would swing their way.

Championships, after all, weren't won in a single weekend. There were fifteen more races ahead!

During the team's debrief, Luca's thoughts were reinforced by the team. There was a spark of determination in the room as everyone agreed they had what it took to turn the tide with time.

Discussion of the race brought praise for both drivers, with 27 points in the bag and the hunger for more clearly voiced. Luca's remarkable ability to complete the race with only one pit stop earned special recognition, the engineers noting they would look to further exploit his exceptional tire wear management as a weapon in future races.

At the same time, they vowed never to fall victim to the kind of tire blowout that had plagued Squadra Corse and Luigi, determined to learn from their rivals' misfortune without repeating it.

During the debrief, Luca remembered the incident with the rear wing, recalling not only why the unnecessary change was made, but also why he wasn't informed about it prior to the pit stop.

Luca found the rear wing change particularly suspicious, especially in how it seemed to enhance his car's aerodynamic efficiency—boosting flexibility, handling, and subtly increasing speed.

The fact that he gained two Yaw Flex points from the adjustment only reinforced his doubts, signalling that the modification wasn't merely routine maintenance but had tangible performance benefits that he hadn't been briefed on beforehand.

Looking around at his team, smiling and buzzing with joy from the victory, Luca decided it wasn't worth pressing the issue about the rear wing now. The energy in the room was infectious, and any tension over minor technicalities would only dampen the celebration.

He resolved to bring it up later, once they had returned to the calm of the Berlin headquarters, where discussions could be thoroughly measured and his observations received with the full attention they deserved.
