Chapter 83
Step, step—
As I walked out of the tent, the view became slightly elevated.
“At this height, it’s almost like before…”
I turned to face Min-young, who had followed me expectantly.
“Who’s taller now?!”
“…Your sister is…”
“What?”
“Pfft… W-Well, only by a tiny bit! H-Hey, should I give you an extra centimeter with insoles? Pffft…”
Seol-hwa covered her mouth, letting out soft laughter. Chocoa, comparing my head to my sister’s, ran her hand over both our crowns. The tilt of her hand as it moved from my head to Min-young’s was faint but unmistakable—she was indeed taller.
“Grrr…”
But I didn’t care anymore. In fact, I wanted Chocoa to keep patting my head, so I kept asking her to measure us again.
“Huhuhu… hehehe…”
After smoothing out my messy hair with a hat, I opened the back door and stepped outside.
“Unnie, are you hot? Your face is red.”
“Huh…? Oh, yeah… maybe a little…”
“So, what are we going to do now?”
“How much time do we have left?”
“About an hour. What do you want to do?”
“…Lunch?”
I glanced at my sister, who tilted her head, puzzled by my reaction.
“You… earlier, the hamburger—”
“I’m hungry too. Should we eat something?”
“Hmm…”
To be honest, I was considering participating in the shooting competition during the last hour. It was the same event as yesterday, so I had a feeling I could get a perfect score this time. However, Min-young and Chocoa’s hunger won out, so I reluctantly decided on lunch.
“Your record’s unbeatable anyway. Even unofficially, you crushed Gunkoo’s score. Let’s just eat together.”
“…Fine!”
After wandering around the food trucks for about ten minutes, we found ourselves overwhelmed by photo requests but disappointed by the limited meal options.
“There’s not much to eat at the food trucks. Shall we try the restaurants?”
“Sounds good.”
Following Seol-hwa’s suggestion, we headed to the restaurant area, where a crowd had already gathered. Although lunchtime had passed, it seemed just as busy.
“Kyahhh! It’s Baraa!! You’re amazing—please take a picture with me!!!”
A sharp voice from a woman drew everyone’s attention. People who hadn’t noticed me earlier turned to look, their eyes widening in recognition.
“…Ah.”
After being surrounded by people for a while, I finally managed to slip into a restaurant.
“…Next year, I’m not coming…”
I liked being around people. Growing up, I had always lived in places with too few. In our tiny village, there were always more tasks than people and even fewer young folks. Min-young and I had been the only children, so we naturally grew closer than anyone else. Lately, we’d become even closer, which wasn’t a bad thing, so I didn’t mind.
“Unnie, ah—”
My sister held a freshly served, steaming dish and blew on it gently before offering it to me.
“…Wow…”
Sometimes, I wondered if we’d gotten too close.
“By the way, where’s that guy?”
Min-young glanced at Seol-hwa and asked. Seol-hwa asked whom she was referring to, and after some hesitation, she muttered the name “Si-ha.”
“Oh~ He’s probably adjusting his outfit. His brother, Yoon Gae, insisted he enter the competition for good streaming material and vented about it all morning…”
“What a mean brother.”
“Tell me about it.”
The conversation naturally shifted to Min-young and Si-ha, led by none other than me. Honestly, who wouldn’t be curious? It’s natural to wonder about your sister’s school life, her friends, and how they get along.
“What kind of person is he? Have you talked much? He’s not a bad influence, right? No smoking or drinking, I hope. Isn’t he tall and good-looking?”
“…Ugh…”
Min-young frowned slightly before eventually shaking her head with an unreadable expression. Feeling a little disappointed, I decided to playfully act like a nosy matchmaker.
But becoming a nosy matchmaker would have to wait. Right now, I was in the competition waiting area, getting a final check from Seol-hwa.
“I can tie my shoelaces myself…”
“No, it’s my job, so I’ll do it.”
Seol-hwa knelt with a serious expression and tied my loosely fastened laces. Though some people glanced our way, the oddness of the scene seemed less noticeable compared to the vibrant and eccentric crowd outside. The noisy, bustling outside world felt entirely different from the calmer waiting room.
The participants here were diverse: some beamed with joy despite low-quality outfits, showing genuine fandom, while others seemed determined, discussing logistics with staff. And then there was me, who had joined casually and was now getting my laces tied.
“…Where’s Si-ha?”
“Hmm, I’m not sure. Maybe filming something with Yoon Gae or still getting ready. He’ll be here soon.”
With those words, Seol-hwa finished tying my laces and began adjusting my outfit, brushing off dust from my shoulders.
“How much would you usually charge for this level of care?”
“Oh, no, no! I didn’t come here for money today! I contacted Si-ha first after watching the stream. I swear, I’m not charging a single cent! Dressing up my favorite streamer and spending time together—ugh, what an incredible opportunity. Even if I’ve been a bit of a burden, this has been amazing.”
She straightened up after fine-tuning the outfit and gave a satisfied nod.
“…Could I borrow your phone for a second?”
I took her phone, wrapped in a cute pink case, and tapped on it a few times. A familiar tune soon played from my own phone.
“Well, if I ever need help with costumes or clothing… let’s meet again then.”
“…Yes! If you’re ever interested in merchandise or clothes, just let me know!!”
As we joked about custom merchandise, Si-ha entered the waiting room, opening the door.
“Wow…! Baraa-nim is here too! Si-ha, why didn’t you tell me earlier?!”
Someone noisy came along with him.

Yoon Gae POV
“Alright!! Hello, everyone!! Today is the last day of Lesik: Glare!”
Yoon Gae shouted enthusiastically at his selfie stick. Though some glanced his way, he remained unbothered, clearly accustomed to such attention.
-Hello hello hello~
-Is this about Glare?
“Yep! I’m currently at the Lesik: Glare event venue!”
-Are you competing?
-Haha, shooting competition’s top score is insanely high. Who’s the maniac?
-It’s Baraa. I saw her yesterday. Insanely cool…
-Does she shoot IRL too?
“Oh, right. She showed up briefly on stream yesterday. So badass!”
Yoon Gae made an exaggerated “Krrr~” noise like a dad reacting to a cool moment. The chat overwhelmingly agreed.
“Is she not here today? Would’ve been a viewership jackpot…”
-Hahaha
-For real.
-So today’s about finding Baraa?
“Nope! Today’s content is…”
After enough viewers joined, he began explaining the main event. It was the streamer’s rule of thumb to wait until the audience was present before diving into the content.
“Tormenting my sibling!!”
Onscreen, Si-ha appeared beside Yoon Gae, the background filled with passersby.
-Kyaaaa! Oppa!!!
Unlike Yoon Gae’s segment, the chat exploded with messages.
Yoon Si-ha, a high schooler involved in fashion and modeling, occasionally appeared on his brother Yoon Gae’s streams, garnering a decent fanbase. However, due to his student status, his streams were infrequent and brief.
“Yes! Long time no see, everyone! Here’s Si-ha! Say hi.”
“Hello.”
“Today’s content is… drumroll… Si-ha competing in the cosplay contest! Yay~”
Si-ha offered a half-hearted cheer with a blank expression.

Lee Su-yeon POV
“….Hello?”
“I’m sorry…”
Si-ha’s apology was clearly about his brother, Yoon Gae, and I gave him a small nod in acknowledgment.
“Hey, Yoon Gae-nim, spoilers are no good. Please wait outside.”
Just as I was growing weary, Seol-hwa shooed Yoon Gae out of the room.
“…It’s suddenly quieter.”
“Yeah, it is.”
“…Your outfit looks great.”
Seeing Si-ha properly, I was taken aback.
“Uh… thanks.”
Si-ha was cosplaying as Sledge.
