The Signal
Naoya's POV
Govvy and Akane-chan are cleaning the classrooms together, so that rest of us are waiting for them. Hopefully they don't take too bloody long.
"Do you think we should've stayed to help?", Takai asks.
"They'll be fine.", I reply dismissively, "Besides, Akane-chan's probably over the moon having Govvy to herself right now."
I shoot a glance in Yoko's and Arianne's direction, hoping to see a jealous reaction, but nothing. How disappointing.
"Oi, what's with the lack of a reaction from you two, eh?"
Gege yawns openly.
"Arianne-san already views herself as the official wife, remember?"
Arianne nods in agreement.
"That's right. I can't allow myself to get all flustered over a hopeless fling, can I?"
"Let Akane-chan have her fun. I'll be with Aniki far more often anyway."
And my little sister is assured of herself as per usual.
"Akai, stick up for your sister, will you?", Takai chides him.
Akai can only smile wryly though.
"Well..My imouto has shot herself in the foot by playing the tsun."
Fair enough.
*DING-TING*
Gege's phone beings to ring. He non-chalantly takes it out of his pocket.
"Huh, it's Daisuke."
He answers the call. That's odd. What's Govvy ringing Gege for?
"What's up? Hello, Daisuke-he hung up. What was that all abou-"
Suddenly, Akai, Gege and Takai jump up, looking panicked.
"That's the signal!", Akai declares hurriedly.
"Shit! Already?!", Takai yells.
"Ariyama Sanemi..We were careless!"
Uh, do you lot mind explaining what the hell is going on?
"Naoya! One of Shade's men is fighting Daisuke right now! That's what the call was for! We've got to hurry!"
Gege gives me a brief explanation-WAIT JUST A MINUTE!!!
"ONE OF SHADE'S GOONS?! WHY DIDN'T YOU INFORM ME ABOUT THIS, YOU BLOODY MUPPETS?! WHAT IF HE GETS KILLED?!"
"What was that?"
"I'm sorry, I believe I misheard."
*GULP*
The wintry, low voices behind me made my hair stand on end... And it seems like it effected the others as well.
"Who's trying to kill Govvy?"
"What's all this about, Naoya-nii?"
"Uhhhh...It's a long story...see..."
Their shadowy gazes are making me feel rather small. And suddenly, I find myself more worried for this Ariyama git than I am for Govvy.
