Epilogue: The First Approaches
(Two Weeks Ago)
Nestled in the blinding white cliffs of Dover, there lies a two story, stone house with a small garden out front and an expansive backyard. This house belongs to the Colen family. And whlist the children of the household are off to school, Mr. and Mrs. Colen are having tea. Their sweet alone time is unfortunately interrupted by the ringing of the doorbell.
"Who could that be?"
Mr.Colen gets up and answers the door, upon seeing who was at the door, his expression softens into a smile.
"Ah, Arianne! Come in, my girl!"
"Good afternoon, Uncle Damian. How are you?"
"Just fine, my girl."
The person at the door happens to be Arianne Renford. With long, bushy sunflower blonde hair and big puffy pigtails, she's one to stand out in a crowd. Paired along with her verdigris coloured eyes and tall figure, she's quite the captivating young lady.
"Arianne! Do have a seat. Would you like some tea?"
"Good afternoon, Aunt Maryam. I'll have to pass on the tea, I'm afraid. We are rather busy at the moment."
Arianne sits on the setee opposing the Colens.
"I've just come to say my goodbyes. After all, we'll be leaving soon."
"Ah, that's right.", Mr.Colen says with understanding, " It's too bad that Danny and Delilah can't be here to see you off as well."
"We'll miss you dear.", Mrs.Colen says, "You're just like family."
"Don't say it like that, Yammy. You're acting as though she's never coming back."
Arianne smiles at her godparent's banter. Though in her mind's eye, they're more of her parents-in-law.
"Well, I'm going to be an actual member of the family soon, aren't I?"
Mrs.Colen's eyes are suddenly a-glow at Arianne's statement.
"Yes, of course! How could I forget?! Damian, our grandchildren are going to be beautiful! I can't wait! I wonder if you and Govvy will have more boys or more girls! I'm hoping for-"
Mr.Colen and Arianne continue the conversation while Mrs.Colen babbles excitedly.
"I must say, you're quite determined. Going through all of that just to find him when you could've just asked us. And all while managing to keep it a secret from your parents. Govvy's in good hands."
"You know me, Uncle Damian. I'm very thorough when it comes to Govvy. After all, we made a promise to each other. And besides..."
Arianne's smile forms into a giddy grin.
"I've been feeling very lonely without him all these years."
