NOVEL WEB Chapter 5: Ch.5 Dessonance
Previously when Black had fired that translucent beam of energy at the junior rank beast.
He had felt a strange and mysterious energy filling and moving in his body before the attack happened.
He wanted to learn just what that mysterious energy was.
When he saw the rank three magical beast wolf charging at him.
He threw caution to the wind and decided to emulate that same strange felling he felt when he had first used the mysterious energy on instincts and see if he can harness it again and loo and behold he succeed.
This time instead of simply shooting it out of his body, he tried to move it towards the improvised weapon he had made. He tried to move it on the one in the right hand.
He succeed the mysterious energy moved from his body flowing through his right hand towards the improvised weapon and creating a thin layer of light grey color on the naturally brown colored weapon. Making the weapon only Sharper.
However since he was not that proficient in controlling the mysterious energy he could see slight cracks forming on the now the energy layered weapon.
Normally the weapon should have been destroyed by all account since the weapon itself was a crudely made one and the energy was of a higher rank, as Black's rank was higher than the material used which was of rank three to perform this action.
However, as Black's over this mysterious energy was even below the level of pitiable, the weapon maneged withstand the energy with only slight cracks forming in it.
While he was doing all this the wolf had already reached him and slashed it's right claw at him. This time Black was prepared and had not let his guard down like in his previous Battle with the deer-like beast and he was also looking out for there leader lurking in the shadows as he had not forgotten about him either.
He sidesteped the wolf's attack and swing his weapon in a downward arc at the wolf's left eye leavinga deep wound. As the wolf howled in pain and stared flailing around madly because of having lost one of it's eyes.
Black didn't have time to rest as the magical beast wolf behind him was already upon him. Before the second, Rank third wolf could attack him he appeared before the wolf and did a horizontal slash with his other weapon on the left hand leaving a deep gash on the wolf's chest.
In a state of mind numbing pain the wolf fell down on the ground mid charge spraying blood all over the flat and chilling floor of the inky black cave whimpering.
In the frightening and spine-chilling darkness embracing large cave system only the blood curdling howling of the two injured High-level mortal stage beast wolf could be heard. Leaving the other four beast petrified and in a state of terror.
He turned to his right rushing towards the two mid-level mortal stage magical beast. Since these two magical beast were weaker than the two wolves he had fought previously. He was easily able to dispatch the two magical beast by beheading them in swift motion.
He felt intoxicated and thrilled as he watched the fear and terror stricken faces of the other two magical beast wolf's.
Only having the experience of a single Battle. Black was trying to quickly dispatch the six Mortal stage magical beast, Two High-level and four mid-level.
Only ten second had passed since the start of the Battle and Black had already delt with the four mid-level mortal stage beast and critical injured the two High-level mortal stage magical beast.
He was excited and thrilled by the feeling of becoming stronger Improving from the first Battle he had after his birth where only a single Rank three magical beast was able to wound and injury him badly. Now not even six of such magical beast were able to put a scratch on him making him flood with over confidence.
It was a new emotion something Black never felt before. however He didn't even question the fact that he was only able to dispatch the six Mortal stage magical beast so easily with his pitiable Battle experience only because he was a whole stage and rank higher than them.
Even while Black was Battling he didn't stop analysing the mysterious energy in his body. He was trying to understand what were its properties. He did find out that this energy was unique to him, he didn't know if there were other entity being able to utilize this mysterious energy but he had a feeling that there were no other such entities.
He was the only one capable of harnessing and utilizing it. He also learnt about one of it's traits.
It has the traits of "dissonance" it's main effects is creating disharmony between the soul and the body.
By creating dissonance it breaks the bond a soul has with the body and by trying to actively understand and compherend this mysterious energy in his body as his proficiency increased he also unlocked a few fragmented knowledge in his mind telling him more basics about this mysterious energy.
Now since he had the memory's he only needed to practice and increase his proficiency in it and he'd be able to better his overall control of the energy.
As Magical beast from rank one to six aren't capable of living in there soul form, since Magical beast can only cultivate there soul starting from Rank Seven meaning there souls are weak compared to there cultivation rank. So the moment the resonance between the soul and the body is broken there soul sea would collapse resulting in there death.
But Black isn't proficient enough in utilizing the mysterious energy so he isn't able to harness the full potential of this energy.
Right now Black proficiency in using this unique energy isn't even at level one Biggner level. At most he can only cause disharmony between the sensory system and the brain causeing hallucination or paralysis.
The two High-level mortal beast were also paralysed within few seconds after being injured and it didn't take long for there soul sea to be overwhelmed and collapse after that since they were only mortal stage beast and were weak then him.
Black didn't even know that the two beast he had injured had already died still thinking they were only injured.
"So this is the reason that deer-like magical beast died so easily. It's soul sea must have collapsed the moment my attack was landed on it" he mused as he turned around just in time to finally spot the Hurricane wolf in the darkness but it was already to late.
It was the first time Black saw the magical beast up close. The last time the Transformation stage beast was more than seventy to eighty meter away from him and in this ghostly dark atmosphere it was also quiet hard to make out the magical beast features clearly.
"It's big..." just as Black had thought, the beast was more bigger up close. It was a hulking giant of about three meter in hight and 2.5 meter long with fur a mixture of dark grays and blacks. It's amber eyes were locked onto him with a hungry and predatory glint in them.
