Chapter 11
===011 Little Brat===
Six months passed quickly, and Su Hao’s height increased a little. From his original three-year-old height, he grew to the current three and a half years old height.
Su Hao thought this was absolutely unfair. In this past year, he paid great attention to balanced and rich nutrition. He should have grown taller and stronger!
“Where did all the meat I ate this year go?”
He even doubted whether the “Strongest Toddler Nutrition Formula in History” recorded in the pinball space was a bluff. But…
Su Hao put away his thoughts and glanced at Wu Yuntian sitting next to him. Since Su Hao mentioned learning martial arts with him half a year ago, he had been coming and going early and late, busy with who knows what. He would barely have a few words with Su Hao when he came back every night before hurriedly eating and going to sleep.
On this evening, Wu Yuntian was about to get up and leave after eating, when Su Hao quickly said, “Father, what about teaching me martial arts? It’s been six months now, when do we start?”
Wu Yuntian suddenly seemed to remember something, he looked at his son and said leisurely, “Well, let’s start tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, meet me at the grain field.’
“Okay!” Su Hao nodded vigorously, his eyes shining brighter in the firelight.
The next morning, Su Hao arrived at the grain field in Xiaozhai, where grains were usually sun-dried. His father wasn’t there, but he saw a little girl of about four years old leading two little boys towards him. The little girl had her hair tied up in pigtails, and she had a delicate appearance with bright round eyes, which showed that she was a beautiful girl. The two little boys were at least five years old and a head taller than her. They looked stout and solid, but at the moment, they were following the little girl like her little followers.
As soon as Su Hao saw these three little brats, his head started to ache. He couldn’t stand bratty kids.
The little girl’s name was He Qingqing, the daughter of the deputy chief of Chashan Outpost, and the captain of the small team of soldiers stationed at Chashan Outpost, He Jianyong. He Jianyong had significant influence on this piece of land, and his orders were like law, so it could be imagined how special his daughter’s status was. No one would want to lose face in front of such a little girl, and besides, He Qingqing herself was sweet and lovely. She was loved by everyone in the small village and was widely adored.
In front of adults, He Qingqing acted like a well-behaved girl, but among a group of bratty kids, she played the role of an older sister.
The two followers behind her were also the sons of soldiers stationed at Chashan Outpost. The slightly older one was called Lu Hongtao, and the chubby one was called Li Cunzhi. These two seemed to have some ulterior motive. They would follow He Qingqing around every day and do whatever she said, making them look like her little lapdogs. Could it be that they wanted to cultivate a childhood sweetheart relationship?
With just these two troublemakers, Su Hao estimated that in a few more years, it would be all bark and no bite.
“Xiangwu, what are you doing? Come, let’s go to the stream to catch fish together!” He Qingqing walked up to Su Hao with the appearance of a little mischief-maker.
Su Hao immediately shook his head and refused, saying, “No, go without me. I won’t accompany you!”
He Qingqing put her hands on her hips, angrily saying, “Wu Xiangwu, dare you refuse me? Believe it or not, I’ll let Hongtao and Fatty beat you?”
Lu Hongtao, the bratty boy, and Fatty Li Cunzhi took a step forward, their eyes full of provocation and eagerness. Wu Xiangwu was a slippery kid, they had never beaten him before, so they were really looking forward to it.
Su Hao’s mouth twitched, and he fearlessly said, “Miss Qingqing, I’m not refusing you, but I never play with fools. If you want me to play with you, you need to prove that you’re not a fool.”
The three of them were angered by Su Hao’s words, and Lu Hongtao and Fatty were about to step forward and give Su Hao some trouble, but they were stopped by He Qingqing. She wrinkled her cute little nose and retorted, “I am not a fool!”
The two little followers immediately followed suit.
“We are not fools either!”
“Neither am I!”
Su Hao nodded in agreement and said, “I can see that. But do you want to prove it? Did you come up with the answer to the question I asked you yesterday?”
He Qingqing immediately proudly shouted, “Of course! How could such a simple question stump me?”
Su Hao looked disbelieving and said, “Really? Then let me ask again, what is 5 plus 7?”
He Qingqing blurted out, “12, it’s 12. Right?” After saying that, she proudly crossed her arms and waited for Su Hao to praise her.
Su Hao looked at her in astonishment and exclaimed, “Oh wow, Miss Qingqing, you’re not bad at all!”
“Of course! Since I have proven that I’m not a fool, let’s go, come play with us!” Qingqing eagerly invited, hoping that Su Hao would join her and become her strategist and assistant.
Su Hao shook his head and said, “Although you have answered correctly, it’s been a long time ago, so it doesn’t count.”
Qingqing’s eyes widened in disbelief, “Why doesn’t it count? What should we do then?”
“Same rule, I’ll ask another question. If you can answer it correctly, it proves that you’re not fools, and I’ll play with you.”
Qingqing hesitated and said, “But you can’t ask something too difficult.”
Su Hao nodded.
Qingqing added another condition, “No math questions.”
Su Hao still nodded.
Then Qingqing wrinkled her nose, looking nervous, and said, “Go ahead and ask!”
“Listen carefully, I’m asking very simple questions that you know the answers to.” Seeing the three of them listening attentively, Su Hao cleared his throat and asked, “Who gets sick and can’t see a doctor?”
Qingqing’s eyes lit up, and she confidently answered, “This is easy, I know this one. It’s a bad person! Bad people get sick, but doctors won’t treat them.”
Little did she know, Su Hao shook his head and said, “That’s wrong, but you’re not far from the correct answer.”
“Wrong? Then what is it?”
“You have to figure that out for yourself.”
Qingqing turned to Lu Hongtao and Fatty and asked, “You two answer.”
Fatty stuttered and couldn’t say a word, while Lu Hongtao was too busy wiping his runny nose to respond.
“You two fools!” Qingqing stomped her foot in frustration. After several more guesses were rejected by Su Hao, she became so desperate that she almost cried. Finally, she glared at Su Hao resentfully.
“Wu Xiangwu, just you wait, I will definitely figure it out.” With those harsh words, she stormed off.
The two followers were immediately shocked and exclaimed, “Qingqing, shall we go goof off?”
Qingqing replied, “No, only fools goof off.”
Lu Hongtao immediately lost his mind and turned to ask Fatty, “Fatty, should we still go fishing?”
After Fatty replied to Lu Hongtao with the words ‘stupid fool’, he chased after He Qingqing and shouted loudly, “Qingqing, wait for me, I want to think together with you.”
Lu Hongtao turned his head and glared fiercely at Su Hao before running towards He Qingqing, shouting, “Me too, me too!”
“Phew, they finally left!” For Su Hao, dealing with little kids was even harder than writing an essay. If it was his younger brother Luo Chaoxin in his previous life annoying him like this, he would have hit him, but now he was weak and couldn’t fight back. If he could fight, he definitely wouldn’t use his mouth.
…
After a while, Wu Yuntian suddenly appeared next to Su Hao and curiously asked, “Who is sick and can’t see a doctor?”
Su Hao suddenly had a black line on his forehead. What’s the point of asking about teasing kids?
