My Disciple are all Dou God

Chapter 96: Chapter 96: A smile so breathtaking

"Me?"

Yun Yun was momentarily stunned upon hearing this. She met Gu H's smiling gaze, and an inexplicable fluster stirred within her.

A thought flashed through her mind—

'Could it be that Elder Gu He stayed in the Misty Cloud Sect… for me?'

Over the years, Elder Gu He had, whether intentionally or not, expressed his affection for her. Yet… she had never reciprocated his feelings, always gently declining.

But now, facing death, Yun Yun realized that she, too, held a fondness for Gu He in her heart.

This realization complicated her emotions.

For so many years, no matter what request she made, the man before her had done everything in his power to fulfill it.

Last time, it was he who had counseled and encouraged her regarding Yan Ran's annulment, even taking the initiative to refine Qi Gathering Powder for her.

Then there was the Emperor's Pill…

When he learned she had hit a bottleneck in her cultivation, Gu He had unhesitatingly offered to refine the Emperor's Pill to help her breakthrough.

And just moments ago, when she had faced a life-or-death crisis, it was this very man who had appeared in the nick of time to save her.

A flood of memories resurfaced in Yun Yun's heart, swaying her resolve.

'It seems… I owe him far too much.'

Suddenly, her beautiful eyes narrowed as a question arose.

'Why was Gu He here?

'And how had he arrived just in time to save me at the brink of death?'

'Wasn't it all too much of a coincidence?'

A thought struck her.

'Could it be… Elder Gu He has been following me all along, watching over me in secret?'

Only that would explain his presence in the Magic Beast Mountain Range.

These thoughts raced through her mind in an instant. As she gazed at the gentle man before her, ripples of emotion stirred within her.

'To think he would go this far for me…'

A mighty Dou Ancestor powerhouse—someone who could dominate the Jia Ma Empire and command prestige—had instead chosen to linger silently in the Misty Cloud Sect… all for her sake.

For a moment, Yun Yun felt her heart waver.

She looked directly at Gu He, her gaze softening.

"Gu He… thank you." For the first time, Yun Yun addressed him without the title "Elder."

Though the words themselves were ordinary, the distance between them had undeniably lessened.

Gu He, of course, had no idea what Yun Yun was thinking.

But from the shift in her eyes, he vaguely sensed that her attitude toward him had changed.

Assuming her gratitude was solely for saving her life, he merely smiled lightly.

"There's no need for formalities, Sect Master. I merely happened to pass by. If the Sect Master were in danger, I, Gu He, would naturally not stand idly by."

"Merely passed by…?" Yun Yun murmured inwardly, her beautiful eyes studying him intently.

She didn't believe his words for a second.

She had told no one of her journey to the Magic Beast Mountain Range.

How could a Dou Ancestor powerhouse like Gu He have coincidentally appeared here?

'He must have been following me all along.'

His claim was nothing more than a pretense—a way to avoid admitting he had been shadowing her.

Unaware of her deductions, Gu He frowned slightly as he noticed the wound on her chest. He handed her a jade bottle.

"Sect Master, take the medicine quickly. If left untreated, the injury may worsen."

Snapping out of her thoughts, Yun Yun felt warmth bloom in her chest at his concern. She reached for the bottle—Only to find her body completely numb.

After a feeble struggle, she sighed inwardly.

'Damn this sealing dou technique!'

Seeing her immobilized, Gu He understood the situation.

"Sect Master, are you alright?"

Yun Yun tried again to move, but it was futile. Reluctantly, she met his gaze, a trace of shyness flickering in her eyes.

"Gu He… I'm afraid I must trouble you to administer the medicine for me."

Gu He blinked in surprise, then glanced at her flushed face. His heart skipped a beat.

"Then… I must apologize for the impropriety." With that, he carefully peeled back the torn fabric around her wound.

Beneath her robes lay a light-blue inner armor, its surface shimmering like flowing water—clearly no ordinary treasure. Yet five deep claw marks marred its surface, blood seeping from the gashes.

'This inner armor is remarkable. Without its protection, the injury would have been fatal.' Gu He couldn't help but shudder at the thought.

Noticing his lingering gaze, Yun Yun's cheeks burned crimson.

"You… why are you still staring?"

"Ahem—" Clearing his throat to mask his embarrassment, Gu He gestured to the armor.

"Sect Master, the wounds… they're beneath the inner armor. To treat them, I'll need to remove it."

Yun Yun trembled slightly, her face flushing deeper.

After a brief silence, she took a steadying breath, then shut her eyes. Her long lashes quivered as she whispered, "Please… help me take it off."

Seeing her consent, Gu He didn't refuse.

He helped her sit up, then settled behind her, cross-legged.

As his fingers brushed against the clasps of her inner armor, Yun Yun's body tensed.

Gu He suppressed a smile.

'She's clearly nervous.'

With practiced care, he undid each buckle, his touch feather-light to avoid causing her pain.

Once the armor was removed, Yun Yun's back was bared before him.

Of course, her front remained covered—unless he willed his soul power to see through. But even he had his limits. He was no saint, but neither was he so base as to peek without permission.

Exposed before a man, Yun Yun's fair skin tinged pink, her delicate frame trembling faintly.

Sensing her discomfort, Gu He swiftly removed his own white outer robe and draped it over her shoulders.

The gesture eased her embarrassment.

Yun Yun opened her eyes, staring at the robe in surprise before a flicker of gratitude shone in her gaze.

Next, Gu He gently laid her down, positioning himself before her.

Now face-to-face, he noted the alluring blush on her cheeks, the tenderness in her eyes.

"I'll begin cleaning the wound now." Gu He spoke softly, offering a reassuring smile.

Yun Yun nodded. "Mm."

Slowly, he pulled the robe aside just enough to expose the injury, careful not to reveal more than necessary.

Taking clean cloth and a light-green medicinal liquid from his ring, he began dabbing at the wound.

Yun Yun's lashes fluttered with each touch.

Her once-regal phoenix hair ornament had come loose, leaving her appearance less dignified, more languidly feminine.

As she watched him work with such focus, her gaze softened further.

Once the wound was clean, Gu He applied a white medicinal powder.

The sting drew a faint whimper from Yun Yun. "It hurts…"

Pausing, Gu He offered a comforting smile. "Bear with it a little longer. The pain will fade soon."

Meeting his gentle eyes, Yun Yun nodded. "Mm."

Closing her eyes again, she surrendered to his ministrations.

After evenly spreading the powder, Gu He bandaged the wound with care.

Then, reluctantly, he covered her once more with his robe.

"Done. The injury should heal within three days." Clapping his hands, Gu He rose to his feet and smiled down at her.

"As for the seal on your body, I have a way to undo it—but we'll need to wait until your wounds have fully closed."

Yun Yun opened her eyes, glancing at the robe now properly covering her before offering him a smile.

A smile so breathtaking, it could topple kingdoms.

For a moment, Gu He was mesmerized…
