Chapter 457: Throne XII
Floor Formation Underway…
The white-gold sea began to solidify. Massive landmasses formed like shifting puzzle pieces, floating into place.
Lush forests emerged on elevated ridges. Open arenas embedded with resonance stones spread across wide terraces. Cities of crystal and steel shaped themselves like growing coral—no rulers, only function.
And at the very center—a great tower, not of dominance, but of unity.
Core Anchor Set: Tower of Uplift
Function: Beacon of Ascent – Increases progression efficiency for all lower-Tier climbers within Bastion Layer
Passive Effect: Encourages cooperative breakthroughs; punishes isolationist aggression
Roman laughed as he watched a silver river form out of mana. "You're making a city that levels people up."
"Not just that," Naval said, eyes glowing as he sensed the resonating laws. "He's changing the entire formula. Even Sovereign ascension methods will mutate if this floor stays active long enough."
Kael smirked. "That's gonna piss a lot of old architects off."
Leon stepped to the balcony of the half-formed tower and looked out.
Below, new Ascenders were already arriving.
Not elites.
Not champions.
Just people—hungry to rise.
The system spoke again:
Floor 601 – Bastion Layer
Law Status: Solidified
Architect in Command: Leon Aetheren
Regional Traits:
• Cooperative Echo Boost
• Trial Sync Multiplier
• Floor Inheritance Memory Share (Partial)
Floor Visibility: Public
Sovereign Broadcast Enabled
Across the Tower's middle layers…
Climbers stopped what they were doing.
Instructors stared at the system's sudden message.
And hundreds of thousands of hopefuls saw something new flash across their interface:
⚠ NEW FLOOR AVAILABLE – FLOOR 601 – BASTION OF THE MANY
Type: Training, Advancement, and Progression Hub
Access: Open to all lower-tier climbers
Cost: Zero
Status: No Kill Zones – Uplift-Oriented Region
For many, it looked like a trick.
But some started climbing toward it immediately.
Later that evening, as the last of the new buildings shaped themselves and mana floods stabilized, Leon sat alone at the top of the Tower of Uplift.
He didn't speak.
He simply listened—to the noise of life, of people training, failing, and growing.
For the first time in ages, the Tower wasn't punishing them for weakness.
It was helping them rise.
Down below, one young climber stared up at the newly formed citadel and whispered:
"Who built this?"
A passing Sovereign, grinning slightly, answered, "The first Architect in an age… who didn't build a throne."
The child tilted their head. "Then what did he build?"
The Sovereign replied:
"A ladder—for everyone else."
And so Floor 601 became more than just a new level.
It became the beginning of a new era.
Floor 601 – Bastion of the Many
Time Passed: 3 Weeks Since Activation
The Bastion was alive now.
What began as an idea—a foundation laid by a single Architect—had become something real. No longer a blank slate, the floor buzzed with activity. For the first time in the Tower's long memory, a Sovereign-class floor was filled with climbers who didn't kill each other on sight.
Training arenas echoed with controlled clashes. Lecture halls brimmed with strategy discussions. Forge-lines produced gear for group use, not just individual stockpiles. There were still duels, challenges, rivalries—but everything here pointed upward, not inward.
And at the center of it all stood Leon.
The Builder.
He walked the halls of the central tower slowly, observing.
A group of Tier IV climbers were in the resonance chamber, practicing Shell Pulse combinations. An instructor—one of the Sovereigns who had sworn loyalty to Bastion's cause—guided them with patience, correcting forms and adjusting elemental tuning.
Further down, Naval was fine-tuning a gravity simulation chamber with Milim and Kael. They were arguing about density thresholds and shockwave harmonics, but Leon smiled as he passed them. Even their fights had purpose here.
Roselia was on the ground level, overseeing recruitment and orientation. New climbers poured in daily—most expecting a trap, a scam, or a hidden cost. But none came. The system never taxed them, and the rules were enforced automatically.
The only price of entry was effort.
System Notification
Daily Influx: 7,128 New Climbers
Total Residents: 82,411
Average Advancement Rate: 63% Higher Than Middle-Tower Standard
Law Compliance: 99.3%
Violence Incidents: Less than 0.04%
Builder's Ascendancy continues to stabilize. Floor Integrity Strong.
Late that night, Leon stood at the edge of the tower's peak again, watching the distant stars shift.
Roselia joined him, handing him a steaming cup of bitterroot tea.
"They're saying this floor saved them," she said quietly. "Some groups from Floor 499 said they'd been stuck there for years. One guy made more progress here in two weeks than he did in five whole floors."
Leon took a sip. "That's the point."
"You're not just building floors anymore," she said. "You're… changing what climbing means."
He didn't answer at first.
Then, quietly: "That's what the Tower's always needed."
Elsewhere in the Tower – Floor 719
Inside a crystalline war-dome, six Sovereigns watched the Bastion reports.
"These numbers can't be real," one of them said.
"They are," replied a woman cloaked in burning chains. "Leon's laws are spreading. Even some of the mid-floors are adjusting to match his Floor's format."
"That threatens balance."
"It threatens us."
A quiet Sovereign in black finally spoke.
"The last time an Architect's idea spread this far, the Tower broke into factions."
The leader, a silver-haired man with gold-rimmed eyes, raised a hand. "Then we don't repeat history. We end this before it becomes one."
He turned.
"Contact Eltharion. Prepare the next challenge."
Back on Floor 601
As dawn broke, the system chimed again.

Leon read the message in silence.
Then he closed the system window, turned to his team gathered in the command room, and said plainly:
"It's time to move again."
Roman smirked. "More tests?"
Roselia tightened her grip on her shield. "No. More proving."
Milim cracked her knuckles. "So we build the next floor after crushing whoever they throw at us?"
Leon nodded.
"Exactly."
Because Bastion was just the first stone.
Now it was time to raise the tower his way.
