Chapter 191: Battle Arena VII

"Damn, wasn't that guy a merchant? How the heck does he have those abilities?" Ragnar asked as he watched Leon's match.

The whole match had been divided into ten blocks, with Leon in the last block, tenth. The others from the orphanage had been eliminated, leaving only them in the second, fifth, and eighth blocks. Each of them had performed greatly in their matches, but none had dominated as effortlessly as Leon.

"No, he is a merchant. That Mana Drain may look wild, but in reality, he can only use it against one person at a time. So he's like a one-hit kill guy—if he misses, he's dead," Venessa explained.

Aeron nodded. "He must be the trump card of his guild. Others pave the way for him to reach the boss, and then he slays the boss with his overpowered ability. No wonder he has so many legendary items. He might be charging others in exchange for his services."

"I would have done the same. People like that are best suited for this kind of work," Vanessa said as Ragnar and Aeron nodded.

In the Tower, others had given them a special name—The Finishers—because their abilities were powerful but could only be used once, much like a devastating weapon that could turn the tide of battle in an instant.

However, was it true? No. Leon's real ability was something far more complex. What people saw was merely the effect of his Dark Pact, a result of the contract he had made with his own creation. Yet, to the rest of the world, it appeared as though he had a unique, overwhelming power.

Soon, all the preliminary matches were finished, leaving only the final stage. As expected, Leon secured first place, earning the title of "The One Who Ends Fights in Ten Seconds." Ragnar took fourth place, Vanessa landed in fifth, and Aeron, with his illusion-based abilities, claimed second place.

But these rankings were temporary. Now, the real battles would begin—the Ranked Battle stage, where the true Top Ten would be determined.

And most importantly, the first-place winner would be granted a rare Ability Crystal as a reward. The reward everyone is here for.

As the Ranked Battle Stage began, anticipation filled the arena. The top ten contestants were now set to battle each other in a round-robin format, with every fight being closely watched by powerful figures from noble families, influential guilds, and even shadowy organizations looking for potential recruits.

Leon stood calmly in the arena, his expression unreadable. He wasn't worried—his Dark Pact abilities made him far superior to any opponent here, even without using his true capabilities.

"Draw the lots," the masked host announced as someone carried a large bowl to the center of the stage. The top ten ranked participants stepped forward, reaching inside to pick their match numbers.

Leon casually slid his hand into the bowl and pulled out a token.

"Now, reveal it!" the announcer called out.

Leon flipped his token, revealing the number 1.

"Oh, we have our first match already!" The announcer's voice boomed across the arena. "The first match will be between Leon and Rudeus!"

The crowd murmured with excitement.

Rudeus, a tall warrior with light-based abilities, smirked as he ran a hand through his golden hair.

"This match... I am going to win," he declared confidently.

Leon glanced at him for a second before turning away, completely ignoring him.

"Hey! Don't ignore me, you bastard!" Rudeus snapped, his aura flaring with radiant energy.

Leon, as always, did nothing in response.

He didn't even consider Rudeus worth acknowledging.

Rudeus gritted his teeth, his aura flaring even more. The golden light surrounding him pulsed aggressively, drawing cheers from the crowd.

Leon, on the other hand, remained completely indifferent. He casually stretched his fingers, his expression still unreadable, as if this whole event was nothing more than a formality.

The referee stepped forward, raising his hand.

"Begin!"

The moment the signal was given, Rudeus exploded forward, his body turning into a streak of golden light. His speed was astonishing—so fast that most competitors wouldn't even have time to react.

But to Leon?

It was laughable.

Just as Rudeus closed the distance, ready to unleash a devastating punch coated in radiant energy, Leon simply lifted a single finger—and stopped the attack mid-air.

Silence.

The entire stadium fell deathly quiet as they watched the impossible happen.

Rudeus, one of the strongest light-based fighters in the tournament, had his ultimate attack stopped by a single finger.

"W-What?!" Rudeus' eyes widened in disbelief as he struggled to push forward, but it was like hitting an immovable wall.

Leon sighed.

"You're too slow."

Before Rudeus could react, Leon twisted his wrist slightly, sending a pulse of energy through his opponent's arm.

CRACK!

Rudeus screamed as he was sent flying across the arena, crashing into the ground with a loud impact. The golden light around him flickered violently before completely fading.

The crowd gasped in shock.

Leon tilted his head, completely uninterested.

"Is that all?" He muttered.

Rudeus groaned as he struggled to stand, his arms trembling. His entire body was screaming in pain, but his pride refused to let him give up. He forced himself up, summoning another surge of radiant energy.

"I won't lose…!"

Leon sighed again.

He vanished.

Before anyone could blink, he reappeared right in front of Rudeus, his hand already raised.

SLAP.

A single, casual slap sent Rudeus flying across the arena again.

This time, he didn't get up.

The referee immediately raised his hand.

"Winner—Leon!"

The stadium erupted into cheers and shocked whispers.

Vanessa's lips twitched as she watched Leon casually slap Rudeus away.

"I was wondering when Leon might explode, but this... this is total humiliation," she muttered.

Ragnar and Aeron sighed, shaking their heads.

Rudeus was a rich kid who had always come to the Orphanage to show off his toys, He was arrogant, constantly flaunting his Toys, and always looked down on orphans like Leon.

He especially hated Leon—because unlike the others, Leon never acknowledged him.

Some people admired Rudeus, but many envied him for his wealth and easy access to resources. Yet today…

He had been utterly humiliated.
