Chapter 473: Can we Finally Relax?
Hell was engulfed in an absolute silence, a stark contrast to the chaos that usually ruled this dark domain. The eternal flames still burned in the depths, the rivers of lava continued to flow between the black mountains, but something was different.
The war had ended, and Dante had emerged victorious… Of course, at the cost of completely devastating his own kingdom, but in the end, it was still a victory.
At the heart of a luxurious temple carved from black obsidian, a group of women gathered around a massive stone table. Their faces displayed a mixture of relief and unease.
They were his wives, powerful and unparalleled women who, whether by choice or fate's whim, had become part of his chaotic life. Now, with uncertainty hanging over the future, they needed to decide what their next move would be.
Reclining against the throne of bones adorned with rubies, Valentina, the eldest among them, sighed. Her fiery red hair gleamed under the light of the mystical torches, while her golden eyes scanned the faces of the others.
"So… does anyone want to start?"
Morgana, always the most impulsive, crossed her arms, impatience evident in her expression.
"I don't know about you, but sitting here waiting for news isn't exactly what I'd call a good idea. If he hasn't returned yet, it means something went wrong. We should go after him."
Alice, the group's strategist, twirled the wine glass between her fingers, watching the dark, blood-like liquid swirl.
"We can't act recklessly. Dante is powerful, we know he can handle any situation. If we throw ourselves into this search without a plan, we might end up hindering rather than helping."
Lyrianna, the most reserved, exchanged glances with the others and sighed softly.
"I agree that we should do something. But the question is: what? Besides, considering everything that happened, I think we just need to wait. Our husband isn't that stupid."
Sara drummed her fingers on the table at her mother's words, her gaze carrying a spark of doubt.
"That's true… But there's one thing you haven't considered."
All eyes turned to her, waiting for her explanation.
"Dante has a unique talent for doing the unthinkable. Honestly, I can already imagine the way he's dealing with whatever is happening… Especially after cutting off all communication."
Voralith narrowed her eyes, the unsettling thought echoing in her mind.
"Or he's in danger."
Vex nodded slowly.
"That too. But knowing Dante as we do, we know he's not the type to go down without a fight. If he hasn't returned yet, maybe he needs us to stay exactly where we are."
Lilith ran her fingers through her silver hair, thoughtful.
"But for how long? We can't just sit here forever."
Nagasawa set her wine glass on the table, a light smile playing on her lips.
"So the question isn't whether we should act, but when."
Cherry slammed her hands on the table, determination overflowing from her.
"Then we decide that now. If Dante doesn't return within a set period, we act."
Valentina smiled, satisfied.
"Exactly what I was going to suggest. But we can't just throw ourselves into battle unprepared. We need to reinforce our forces and ensure we have allies by our side."
Aldria nodded in agreement.
"We can gather those still loyal to him. With the war over, many who were once divided may now align with us."
Velryna cast her gaze toward the darkness stretching beyond the chamber walls.
"And if… if he doesn't come back?"
Silence fell over the group.
Valentina closed her eyes for a moment before responding, her voice as firm as steel.
"Then we take up his legacy."
Morgana clenched her fists but didn't argue. She knew Valentina was right. If Dante was lost, it would be their duty to continue his mission, his dominion… and his vengeance.
Nagasawa took a deep breath, the decision sealed in the gaze of all present.
"Then it's decided. We give him time to return. If he doesn't... then Hell and the entire Multiverse will feel our wrath."
Heads nodded in unison. Dante's fate was still uncertain, but his wives' determination was unwavering. They would wait, but not forever. If he didn't return, they would do whatever was necessary to find him… or take vengeance on those who dared to challenge the Monarch of Chaos.
Before they could continue the discussion, a voice echoed through the hall, dripping with sarcasm and familiarity.
"You all really look cute when you're worried."
The air froze for a brief moment before a body launched forward, crossing the room at absurd speed.
"Dante!!"
Eldrax shot toward him, leaping into a tight embrace.
Dante chuckled softly as he felt the impact of Eldrax's body against his. He held her firmly, wrapping his arms around her, feeling her cling to him as if she feared he would disappear at any moment. The sweet scent of her hair mixed with the faint aroma of sulfur and ashes that still clung to his own body.
"I missed you too, little one," he murmured, running his fingers through her long strands. "But relax, I'm not that easy to take down."
Eldrax buried her face in his chest before finally pulling away, her eyes shining with relief and a touch of indignation.
"You idiot! Do you have any idea how worried we were?!"
Dante let out a theatrical sigh, flashing a carefree smile as he raised his hands in a placating gesture.
"I know, I know. But to be fair, even I didn't expect things to take that turn."
He then turned to his wives, his gaze moving over each of them. It was good to see them all gathered there, strong, determined, and ready to act if necessary. It made him even prouder to have them by his side.
"But now, it's all over," he said, his voice carrying an unshakable certainty. "All the problems, all the threats... I've taken care of everything."
The words hung in the air for a moment, as if they were difficult to process. The women exchanged glances, seeking confirmation among themselves.
"Over?" Valentina asked, her expression wavering between relief and disbelief.
Dante smiled, walking up to her and gently holding her chin.
"Yes, my love. There are no more threats at our door. Everything has been resolved in this world."
Cherry crossed her arms, narrowing her eyes.
"So you're saying we can finally relax? No more wars, no more hidden enemies?"
He nodded.
"Exactly. Now we can live however we want. We are finally free."
For a moment, silence reigned—until, one by one, their faces began to light up. First, a subtle smile from Lyrianna, followed by the glimmer in Alice's eyes. Morgana scoffed, crossing her arms, but even she couldn't hide the satisfaction growing within her.
Nagasawa laughed, pouring herself more wine.
"Well, now this is a surprise. The great Dante, finally putting an end to chaos?"
Dante shrugged, amusement flickering in his eyes.
"Yeah, even I need a break sometimes."
Vex leaned against the table, a provocative smile forming on her lips. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
"So... if there are no more problems, I think we can finally celebrate properly."
Dante raised an eyebrow, noticing the glances they exchanged. The atmosphere in the room seemed to shift, growing heavier with anticipation.
"Celebrate, huh?" He smirked, crossing his arms. "Well, I'm curious to see what you all have in mind."
...Somewhere in the cosmos...
"I was answering an urgent call."
Zathana settled gracefully into her chair, crossing her legs with elegance as her voice echoed through the vast hall. In front of her sat some of the most powerful entities in the universe, beings whose mere presence made reality tremble.
"An urgent call, is that it?" An older man's voice rose with a tone of amusement. His smile was sharp as a blade, his eyes analyzing Zathana with curiosity. "Funny… No one else here received any such call."
She did not hesitate. Her lips curled into a mischievous smile as she uttered a name that made the entire room freeze.
"Azi Dahaka."
The effect was instant.
The hall, once serene, plunged into chaos. Some spat out their drinks, others choked, and even those who rarely displayed emotions had their expressions overtaken by sheer shock.
"What did you just say?!" A woman in the corner abruptly stood up, her voice filled with disbelief.
"It's exactly what you heard," Zathana confirmed, her calm demeanor contrasting sharply with the desperation around her. "Azi Dahaka's soul has fully awakened."
The silence that followed was almost suffocating, broken only by the harsh scrape of a chair being pushed back.
"I'm going to kill him."
The declaration came from a tall, imposing man, his posture as rigid as steel. Without wasting a second, he began to move—
And then—
His body simply collapsed.
The widened eyes of those present turned toward him—or rather, to what remained of him. The Administrator, one of the most powerful entities in the room, had been reduced to nothing in the blink of an eye.
"What the fuck was that?!" Another voice shouted, laced with panic, as all eyes converged on Zathana.
She was still seated, relaxed, but her raised hand made it clear who was responsible.
"Apologies," she said, her voice as sweet as it was lethal. "But let me make something very clear. Anyone who dares to go after him for the next one million years…"
Her eyes gleamed with an overwhelming power, making the very air around them almost unbreathable.
"I will utterly exterminate."
The silence that followed wasn't just shock.
It was pure terror.
