MY BLADE

They had departed for Red River village in the morning by 9 o'clock.

The time is now 10.

"Yutaka-san, Yutaka-san! Since you said your from somewhere 'unknown' why don't I summarize how this world is?!"

Velma said with a chirpy attitude, the girl was quite a sociable one.

He gave a nod still saving his last communication for the day Incase of an emergency.

"Okay let me see! I'll explain the basics they teach in school!"

ah so she went to school, no wonder she's so intelligent.

Yutaka smiled indicating Velma to continue with what she was saying.

"First of all! Respect Knights at ALL COSTS!"

She stated lifting a finger up as if giving a lecture.

What is a 'knight'?

He thought with a confused expression.

Velma acknowledged that he did not understand, so she proceeded with explaining further.

"A knight is a member of a guild, they are the most respected guild members on all of Bearth!"

Yutaka was still confused with Velma's explanation of a knight so Facts tried simplifying it.

What is a 'cop'?

What is a 'Police'?

sigh

Facts said with obvious disappointment.

Who are you talking to?

Really?! So they have swords?!

He questioned in his mind with hope in his eyes.

Alright!!!

His face lit up with excitement,

Finally, something he was familiar with! Yutaka was happy to know swords existed in this world.

"Yutaka-san! Are you listening?!"

Velma was lecturing Yutaka but he suddenly stopped listening because he was talking to facts.

Yutaka immediately nodded his head showing he paid attention to what Velma was saying, still carefully not talking, saving his last message for today.

"Gosh! You need to listen, I was talking about the most important and dangerous things in this world."

"Nephilums."

As soon as Velma said that word, a giant creature was standing behind her.

Casting a shadow on Velma as well as Yutaka, the 10 feet monster had 4 arms, using two to stand and two to hold branches of a nearby tree.

The nephilum had a simple round head as well as 5 eyes, one on each four corners of its head and the last eye ball, the biggest of the five was in its salivating mouth, simply excited to devour the two.

The scene seemed to slowed down for both as adrenaline pumped at rapid speeds in response to that...thing.

WHAT IS THAT

He Drew out his wooden sword and quickly dragged Velma pulling her away.

The creature simply smiled.

"Velma, RUN!!!!"

Bash!

With one of its four hands, the monster slapped Yutaka to a tree, breaking it completely.

He was left unconscious with multiple bones shattered.

"Yutaka-san!!!"

She cried out attempting to help but her body refused, she was paralyzed with fear.

The nephilum approached Yutaka's unconscious body to begin it's feast.

It used it's right hand to carry him and dangled it in front of his mouth about to take a laaaarge bite.

Thunk!

A rock hit the monsters left eye making it wail in pain.

"Let go of Yutaka-san you freak!"

She cried out, the distraction made the creature drop Yutaka's body.

"This is baaaaaaad!!!! What am I going to do??!"

She panicked in her mind! she had gotten the attention of the monster but what now??!!

She attempted throwing another rock-

Bam!

A giant boulder landed at her side.

Thrown by the monster, it copied Velma's action.

sniff

Velma began weeping.

She fell on the floor in fear, knowing that she could have died if that rock simply grazed her.

The creature was jumping with two hands like a child in joy and clapping with the other two. It was having fun.

Being only 13, Velma was already crying on the spot, her along sides her new friend Yutaka were going to die, and most likely eaten.

"...mama."

She muttered, the monster approaching her at blinding speed.

Velma winced in fear and covered her eyes.

As it's mouth approached Velma, 2 golden lines appeared on the creatures body.

The slash marks dissolved into it's skin, sinking like needle in foam.

After that a bright light glow as a near by boulder completely halved.

Plop

It's arm fell.

Thud

Then the head.

Splsshqsh~

It's organs, as well as other body parts spilled to the ground, Velma's body was absolutely drenched in its blood.

Velma didn't notice, she was still crying and whimpering.

She noticed she was still alive and finally opened her eyes.

"huh.... what just happened? What now??!"

She said backing away from the corpse.

Velma quickly cleaned her eyes to try and acknowledge the current situation.

While twisting and turning, her vision spotted something.

A shiny figure was stationed in front of Yutaka's unconscious body.

"H— hey! Stay away from Yutaka-san!!"

She cleaned the blood from her face to get a better view of what was attending to Yutaka.

Dressed in shiny silver, but gold plates on it's shoulders.

It wore a blood red scarf around it's neck, fluttering across it's sectioned helmet.

Twin giant swords we're placed

at each side of its waist with black straps.

Surprisingly though, it wore a gown below it's armor....a female perhaps.

Velma as well acknowledged it's gender from seeing the armor's breast plates.

Simply put

IT WAS A KNIGHT!

Velma just sat there in astonishment, as if seeing an angel.

From her village, stories about knights were popular.

It was even believed that seeing one was a bad thing saying that it uses up a persons entire good luck in a single encounter.

Be that as it may, it was worth it.

Despite wearing a helmet, this knight FELT beautiful.

"....oh God.... their real!"

She said in awe, Velma had never seen a knight before but heard of their existence from reading.

She immediately dropped to her knees to show her respect.

The armoured lady did not reply.

She simply bent down and touched Yutaka's head.

Simple glowing white flames surrounded her hand and entered Yutakas head, healing his wounds.

Velma was still bending her head as low as possible, either in respect or fear, the reason unknown.

She tried peeping but was shocked

The armoured lady was standing in front of Velma, not uttering a single sound, such light feet.

The girl was paralyzed with fear, about to pass out on the spot.

The female knight saw she was afraid, so she removed her helmet.

She was a beautiful woman, about 30 years of age.

She had milk long hair reaching her back, making Velma wonder how such lengthy hair was packed in the helmet.

Due to the heels on her feet, the beauty stood at 6 feet casting a shadow over Velma.

Velma became slightly calmer after seeing the woman's face. Despite her beauty, she had slight eye bags indicating stress and slight tiredness.

Velma awaited the lady to say something since she was now staring directly at her.

However, her hands started moving.

{Please do not be afraid, I am so glad I made it in time.}

The knight passed the message by moving her hands....she was deaf.

"ah! This is Sign language! I've heard about it!"

She wondered in astonishment as if seeing an alien.

However Velma didn't understand sign language.

{I have healed your companion laying on the floor, he should regain consciousness any minute now.}

She said again in sign language.

Velma was still dumbfounded.

The woman looked and saw she was covered in blood from the monster.

She suddenly vanished and came back with a new set of clothes.

However, she moved too fast for Velma to notice, so it just looked like some clothes appeared in her hands.

Where did she get clothes from?!

She wondered whilst backing away from the woman.

{Please change into this, Nephilum blood can cause unwanted changes to the human body}

She signed again.

But Velma didn't understand, she just used common sense and noticed that the woman was handing her a set of clothes.

Velma changed into the new clothes, it was a simple red riding hood design and milk skirt.

"Th—thank you so much!

I have never worn clothes this pretty before!"

She yelled with appreciation towards the deaf knight.

The woman simply smiled and wore her helmet back.

Without uttering a single word, she waved Velma good bye and went on her way.

"wowww...."

She stood there both hands clenched, Velma was both astonished and grateful for what just happened.

Just like that, they we're both saved, a miracle had just taken place.

After the knights exit Yutaka came to be.

"ugh..... what just happened?... what was that animal?!"

Yutaka Interrupted Velma's awe, speaking Japanese which she did not understand.

"Yutaka-san! Yutaka-san! your awake!!"

She ran with excitement and gave him a big hug.

When did she change clothes??

He thought seeing her new lavish attire.

"Velma, your alright!"

He said with a smile seeing Velma un-injured.

Facts said.

"Wait, as in no more daily communication??"

He spoke in Inglish.

"ah, Yutaka-san, I can understand you again! your so weird!!"

She said in confusion.

"This is wonderful! Velma! I can talk normally now!!!"

Yutaka announced the good news.

"ehhhh??"

She said with slight surprise while sitting down.

"Okay! Now tell me everything that happened!!"

He also sat down and placed his hands on Velma's shoulder's.

"WHAT WAS THAT CREATURE?!"

He asked with a dead serious look, referring to the "thing" that attacked them....a nephilum.

Velma heard clearly and took a deep breath.

"That was a nephilum, Yutaka-san"

Velma answered with a serious face.

"What is a nephilum?"

He asked releasing her shoulders.

Velma went quiet again before answering.

"I'm just going to assume you are from another planet Yutaka-san"

She said with a joking face.

"What do you mean-

"Because no race on Bearth has never heard of a nephilum"

She cut him off staring at the grass, nephilums we're a global phenomenon.

".... please explain to me, I should have knowledge on these things"

He said with a serious face ready for a lecture.

".... okay"

She put both hands on her laps and sat properly.

"I'm just going to check if you have any brain cells, but you've heard of the Demon king right?"

She said starring at Yutaka.

"Okay, that's a little bit insulting but yes, I've heard of the Demon king"

He said starring at Velma.

Facts added.

"The demon king 'Beelzebub Danteshi' "

She then drew a cross on her forehead.

"huh?"

He asked in confusion.

"Using the demon kings first name is a grave sin, so you have to ask for forgiveness after doing it"

She answered casually and resumed with the topic about nephilums.

"A nephilum is a child of the demon king, they aren't actually biologically produced by the demon king"

"They kinda just manifest themselves due to his existence"

".... Velma...you sure use a lot of big words.... what's biologically? Existence?"

Yutaka was confused.

"Nephilums just.... appear,in random places, their very dangerous so it's smart to avoid them"

"So that was a 'nephilum'? That's kinda hard to pronounce...."

He asked pointing at the corpse of the creature which was now surrounded with flies.

"Yes, that was a nephilum, but they have different species"

She answered.

"we were lucky, that one is called 'A Damned' "

"A damned....."

He parroted teacher Velma's words like a child in school.

"The Damned don't have a specific design, but you can notice them because of their size, their usually bigger than average people but not too big"

"hmmm....."

He placed his hand on his chin.

This didn't feel real.

But from getting attacked to the visible corpse as proof, MONSTERS WERE REAL.

"The next race is 'Kaiju' "

She said now lifting 2 fingers.

"ahh you mean monsters!"

"Yes, monsters....their... really big...."

She said with terror in her eyes...

wow, they all sound dangerous, so a 'Kaiju' is bigger than a 'Damned'

Yutaka conversed with facts.

"hmmm okay, I understand so far....is there any other species, Velma?"

He asked making mental notes of the creatures Velma had explained.

"...yes.... there is one more specie...."

She said with even more terror in her eyes....

Yutaka was ready to hear it.

"The last species is the strongest....'Giants' "

She finally said it.

However...Yutaka was quiet.

He then started laughing.

"Giants?! As in the ones in folklore??! You mean yokais?!"

He laughed at what Velma said, there's no way a Samurai will believe giants exist.

Facts said referring to the nephilum.

After facts logical assessment of analysing the possibilities of giants existing in this world.... Yutaka was SILENT

The female voice said mockingly, like a woman in gossip.

Velma held Yutaka's hand seeing he was scared.

"It's okay, Yutaka-san, since giants are the strongest their rarely seen, I mean if they were coming, the population would be very low!"

".... That's true... "

He said with a scared face.

"....Velma... how exactly are we still alive?"

Yutaka forgot to ask why they weren't dead, he did get his bones broken then passed out, suddenly he wakes up feeling good as new with Velma wearing a new set of clothes!

"ah, we were saved by a knight! I should have asked for her name"

Velma said with a chirpy attitude.

"Wow....a knight... wait did you say 'Her'?!"

Yutaka stood up in disbelief.

"yes? Her... A female..."

She casually answered not knowing what was wrong.

"Women are swordsmen in this land?!"

Velma was confused.

"... Yutaka-san,did the monster hit you that badly"

She said with worry.

"But that's not possible! It's called a Swords 'Man' for a reason!"

Velma bonked his head.

"ouch..."

He scratched his forehead.

"First of all, that's very sexist so you should apologize"

She said standing up.

"....I'm.... sorry...."

He surprisingly apologized.

"Women are also knights here, it's completely normal"

She said with a pouting face, sluggishly accepting Yutaka's apology.

"Is that so?.... I'm sorry....I didn't mean to sound discriminative, it's just from where I'm from, never have I seen a woman so much as even hold a sword...."

He said bowing his head.

"ah...I—it's okay Yutaka-san! I was just playing with you, I'm really not offended'

She said trying to brush off the matter.

Yutaka rose his head.

"wow...a female swordsman....I mean swordswoman....I would have loved to see her...."

Yutaka said staring at the sky.

"yes..... you really should have seen her.... she was beautiful...."

Velma as well stared at the sky.... I wonder what their looking at.

The time was now was now eleven in the morning, only one hour had passed since their departure.

"Okay Velma, let's continue walking!"

He said approaching his wooden sword which was a tree branch.

"yes sir!"

She dusted her new clothes and trailed behind Yutaka.

And so they continued their journey to Red River village.
