Chapter 9: Creation path
Walking down the grand hall of the massive castle, Lucien kept gazing at the doorpost, looking for the one with the number 311 on it. He shot the piece of paper in his hand once again checking to confirm the number before he continued moving.
The Fotia academy dormitory can also be called the legendary floating castle which was even mightier than the royal palace. It is a massive structure with over fifty floors and about a hundred and fifty rooms per floor. There about five castles like this and each castle is dedicated to the various levels(classes) in the Academy. Rumor has it that the higher your class, the smaller the castle is since the number of students reduces drastically each year since a good number of them die every year.
The academy is considered to be almost as big as the empire's capital and its territory covers more ground than that of the greatest noble families in the empire. The entire academy is filled with countless teleportation pods that make movement a bit easier for students and professors as well.
"Finally" Lucien let out a sigh of relief as he reached the door with the number '311' boldly written on it with a mana pen. Placing his hand on it, the door let out a light blue glow, and a mechanical voice could be heard.
"Welcome back Lucien Raizen…"
Before Lucien could understand what was going on, the door jerked open revealing a massive luxurious room a hundred times better than his room back in the clan. It was a very spacious room with a massive comfy bed at the top left corner cover in white sheets. Lucien walked into the room only to realize that the temperature was just perfect, not too hot and not too cold. Three spherical orbs of light, brightened the room while dancing around, meanwhile the door to the left leg to the bathroom while the door to the right led to the wardrobe where two pairs of uniform for all special school occasions was placed.
"If you take a look at your desk, you will find an E grade mana crystal… please do well to absorb it for refine and purposes, this is the only requirement needed for tomorrow's class" The voice spoke again startling Lucien.
His eyes darted around the room but he couldn't find where the voice was coming from.
"What are you?" Lucien couldn't help but ask.
The events that have occurred since his arrival to this room are just far beyond his imaginations. He knew so little about the current state of the world, most likely because he has been locked up in his home for too long. His keen senses kept telling him that this is a product of a spell but he didn't understand how a spell is capable of opening doors, interacting with people, and regulating room temperature!
"My creators call me the Crux… a product of several mages from the creation path utilizing all four primary elements to create artificial intelligence that can help make life easier for students" The Crux.
While listening to this Lucien noticed the strange symbols on the ceiling of the room. He did not know what it was but he simply guessed this must be some sort of sealing spell used to bind the Crux to this room. From its explanation, he guessed another version of it was available in every room.
"Creation path?" Lucien jumped on the bed as he considered something.
The creation path did sound strange for someone his age but as the heir of the Raizen clan he has seen quite a few mages who graduated from this institution. With the little knowledge he has acquired during his fifteen years living, Lucien knew the creation path was one of the numerous paths available to mages. Those who follow the creation path can give life to their spells, allowing them the gain a personality of their own, just like the Crux. He guessed that the door opening was simple earth magic, while light magic was used to brighten the room, meanwhile, fire and wind magic are been used to regulate the temperature of the room.
He has always been a devoted fan of those who create elemental pets using the creation path and occasionally he envied them but this has never been his goal.
"Magic is power, power is meant to destroy… that's all there is to it" Lucien chuckled.
He was pretty sure about the rest of the paths available but before coming here, Lucien had already decided to join the war mages. He wanted to learn how to bring out the full destructive capabilities of his magic!
Not bothering to ask the crux any more questions, mainly due to disappointment, Lucien grabbed the E grade mana crystal and gazed at it with an excited look on his face.
"let's do this" he muttered
