My Adventures As The Saiyan God of destruction

Chapter 2: The cycle of life

The vast expanse of space stretched before Kade, a mesmerizing canvas of swirling nebulae and distant stars. His gaze was fixed on a holographic projection displaying a verdant planet teeming with life. Alpha, it was called—a world brimming with vibrant blue oceans and lush green forests.

"It's beautiful," Aria said softly, her voice tinged with wonder.

Kade's expression remained stoic, though he seemed to wrestle with the awkwardness of the whole situation. "Beauty doesn't change fate," he began, sounding like he was trying to channel some serious godly wisdom. "Uh... I guess this planet has to be destroyed or something."

Aria blinked, incredulous. "That's your grand justification? 'Or something?' You're about to vaporize an entire civilization!"

Kade rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Look, I didn't exactly take a 'Destruction 101' course, okay? I was a college guy eating ramen three times a day before all this. I'm still getting used to the whole 'god of doom' gig."

"Maybe start with less, you know, genocidal hobbies?" Aria suggested dryly. "Like knitting or gardening."

"Knitting doesn't scream 'badass deity,'" Kade muttered. "Maybe if the fate of the universe depended on a really sick sweater..."

Aria frowned, her silver hair shimmering under the chamber's ethereal glow. "But why? It's full of life. Surely there's another way."

"The cycle of creation and destruction is eternal," Kade said firmly. "Life consumes. Destruction is necessary to make way for new life."

Aria's eyes shimmered with sadness. "It just seems so cruel."

Kade placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I know it's hard, but it's our duty. We can't let emotions cloud our judgment."

Reluctantly, Aria nodded. "I understand... but it doesn't mean I have to like it."

The chamber hummed with energy as Aria prepared the teleportation portal. Swirling colors pulsed with chaotic intensity, a vortex of raw power ready to unleash destruction. Kade's muscles tensed, anticipation thrumming through his veins.

"Ready?" Aria asked, her voice steady and flat.

"Always," Kade replied.

Stepping through the portal, they emerged on a rocky plateau overlooking Alpha's shimmering oceans. The air was thick with the scent of salt and vegetation, a stark reminder of the life that thrived here.

Kade surveyed the planet, his heart heavy but resolute. "It's time."

He clenched his fist, channeling destructive energy. The atmosphere crackled as dark, swirling power gathered around him.

"HAAAA!" he roared, unleashing the devastating force of Dark Hakai.

The planet convulsed under the assault, its vibrant hues fading to lifeless gray. Oceans churned, landmasses fractured, and the sky tore apart. Alpha, once a beacon of life, was reduced to nothingness.

Breathing heavily, Kade stood in the aftermath of destruction, the void of space stretching endlessly before him.

Aria's voice broke the silence. "Was it worth it?"

Kade's gaze softened. "It was necessary."

The cycle continued, but Kade knew that with Aria by his side, he could face the burdens of his divine role.
