Dinner at the Yuigahama House

Su Yu and Yui sat at the dining table.

One of them ate quietly.

The other ate shyly.

Across from them, Asuna Yuigahama sat with an amused smile, watching her daughter and Su Yu.

Earlier, when she had opened Yui's door without knocking, it wasn't by accident—

She had wanted to see just how far their relationship had progressed.

Seeing Su Yu holding Yui in his arms, with her clothes slightly undone, had given her a pretty good idea.

"Su Yu-kun, are you staying over tonight? There's an extra futon, or… you could just sleep with Yui?" Asuna said casually.

"Mom…!" Yui blushed furiously, sneaking a glance at Su Yu.

"Thank you for the offer, but I have work to do tonight, so I'll be heading home." Su Yu replied with a polite smile.

"Work?" Asuna raised an eyebrow.

"I'm working toward becoming a manga artist. If I succeed, I'll have a stable career in the future."

"Su Yu-kun, that's amazing." Asuna's eyes showed admiration.

Yui, though a little disappointed, wouldn't interfere with his work.

"It's okay, Su Yu-kun. Do your best! When your manga is finished, I'll be your first reader!" Yui clenched her fists in encouragement.

"Then I'll sign a copy for you." Su Yu smiled.

"Sensei Su Yu, I am your first fan! Please give me a signed copy!" Yui grinned.

"Alright."

Without warning, Su Yu leaned in and kissed Yui's forehead.

Yui froze, then turned bright red, lowering her head in embarrassment.

Asuna chuckled but didn't tease her any further.

After Dinner

Yui walked Su Yu to the door.

It was dark outside.

As Su Yu walked away, he turned and waved at her.

Yui reluctantly waved back, only heading inside after he disappeared from view.

At Sakura Dormitory

Su Yu returned home before 8 PM.

Grabbing a drink from the fridge, he took it to his room.

Sitting at his desk, he pulled out his drawing materials and continued working on his manga.

The more he drew, the clearer his mental imagery became.

Breaking apart the anime's scenes, rearranging them into manga format…

Ensuring that the panel transitions were smooth…

"If I had a manga-related skill, my proficiency level would definitely be increasing right now."

Su Yu thought to himself as he lost track of time.

Three hours later.

Looking at the six completed pages, Su Yu knew this was his current limit—

If he wanted to maintain quality, he couldn't rush it.

As he set down his pen, a wave of exhaustion hit him.

"The drowsiness is coming again…"

He stood up, dragged himself to bed, and barely managed to remove his clothes before collapsing onto the mattress.

The moment his head hit the pillow, he lost consciousness within five seconds.

Su Yu woke up feeling incredibly refreshed.

Checking his phone, he saw there was still plenty of time before class.

His mental clarity was at its peak—

Though he didn't gain a skill level, he felt a deeper understanding of his work.

After making and eating breakfast, he left for school.

When he was almost there, his phone rang.

A glance at the caller ID—

Haruno Yukinoshita.

He hesitated for a moment before answering.

"Su Yu-kun, I have good news and bad news. Which do you want first?" Haruno's voice carried a playful tone.

"Good news."

"A well-known anime director read your script and really liked it."

Su Yu paused for a moment before responding.

"And the bad news is that he doesn't want me involved in the anime production?"

"Bingo~." Haruno chuckled. "He's an experienced director with consistently high ratings. So naturally, he—"

"I want the anime to be produced by Shining Animation's Third Studio, with Yukino as the director."

Su Yu cut her off.

There was a brief silence.

"You trust Yukino that much?" Haruno finally asked.

"Yes. I trust her." Su Yu answered without hesitation.

"Alright then. Bring Yukino with you to Shining Animation this afternoon. I'll be there to arrange everything for you two." Haruno said with amusement.

"Thanks."

"I already told Mother about this. If Yukino does well, she'll be very pleased."

"How pleased?" Su Yu noticed a familiar car approaching in the distance—Yukino's family car.

"She might allow you and Yukino to be friends. At the very least, she'll remember your name."

Haruno said lightly.

"I see. Thanks for the warning."

Ending the call, Su Yu walked toward Yukino, who had just stepped out of the car.

She noticed him and took a few steps forward, waiting.

"Your sister just called me." Su Yu said as he approached.

"What did she say?"

"A famous anime director liked my script but doesn't want me involved. So, I turned him down."

Yukino blinked in surprise.

"And then?"

"Do you have the confidence to be an anime director?" Su Yu asked seriously.

Yukino fell silent for a few moments before responding.

"Aren't you afraid your project will fail?"

"Failure doesn't scare me. As long as you like the final product, that's all that matters."

Su Yu's voice was steady.

Yukino's cheeks flushed slightly at his words.

Turning away, she looked at the cars passing by.

"I haven't finished reading all the reference books yet. But… some things can only be learned through experience."

"Good. As long as you have that mindset, I have nothing to worry about."

Su Yu grinned.

"If we fail, promise me something—let me use your lap as a pillow so I can recover from my heartbreak."

He glanced at her legs as he spoke.

"Su Yu-kun, you are the worst!" Yukino glared at him, face completely red.

"I'll take that as a 'yes.' We'll head to Shining Animation this afternoon."

Su Yu turned toward the school building.

Behind him, Yukino clenched her small fists, her face still hot.

Not just because of his request—

But because of the way he always managed to make her heart race.

This was why she had advised Yui to confess first.

If Yui became his girlfriend, she could put an end to these feelings before they became too much.

As more students arrived, Yukino took a deep breath and walked forward.

She wasn't 100% confident, but…

For some reason, she believed in Su Yu.

Just as he trusted her, she trusted him too.
