Library

Just as he promised, Christopher headed out of the Palace the moment he finished training Titus. The boy tried to convince him to at least stay for dinner, but Christopher refused gently as he already had something he wanted to do.

When he left the Palace, he immediately went into his Dimension, and the first thing he noticed were sounds battle.

Curious, he teleported on top of a hill not too far away from where the sounds were coming from, and there he saw the Twins fighting against Belladonna.

Christopher watched with interest as the Vampire used blood red flames, blood, and blood red ice to fight against the two dragons. Thanatos, Silver, Kim were also watching from the sidelines.

The twins were able to deal some outstanding damage, however, Belladonna was significantly more experienced than them in combat, so she had no issues defending against their attacks and even counterattacking.

However, this seemed like one of those battles that would go on for a while, so he decided to enter the Haven of the Enlightened as he wanted to do something himself.

Something he noticed about the place after exploring for a while was that, one, every single building was furnished to perfection, so he didn't have to stress himself to start kidnapping furniture just to put inside all of them.

The second thing he'd found which had excited him greatly, was a grand library. He guessed that before he'd taken in the ancient Teran City, there was probably a library that had these books.

And now that they had been transported into his Dimension, they had been enhanced by 10,000 times just like everything.

Christopher appeared in the massive library that seemed to be constructed for the gods. Bookshelves were floating and they contained golden books that gave off a majestic light as their knowledge tempted anyone who entered.

Christopher sighed as he felt the effects of the library and the city in general take effect and calm his mind, making it clearer and sharper.

He reveled in the calmness of mind for a moment before deciding to do what he came here for. He was going to take advantage of the time dilation as much as possible.

He went to a pad in the ground and stepped on it, and immediately he appeared in a separate space. It was a garden filled with very pretty flowers that gave off a calming effect. A comfortable table and chair, clean air and gentle Mana, and a small pond as well.

Christopher sat on the chair and after a while, he willed with his mind.

Then, a book appeared in his hands and he read the cover.

Runic Mastery: Arts of Creation

The title was very fancy and Christopher had no doubts that it's contents made such a name appropriate.

After his fight with those assailant of his, he decided to start paying attention to his combat style. Right now, he was going the route of a magic swordsman, but runes piqued his interest a lot, so he decided to incorporate it.

He had the option to absorb the knowledge directly into his mind just like how he did for his sword style and magic mastery, but he decided to read the book directly.

The main reason was because he wanted to enjoy this calm and peaceful atmosphere that this library had. Other than that he noticed that the books here made it so that even if you read something directly, the knowledge and understanding would automatically stick in your brain.

Thus, he wanted to enjoy the process as he grew stronger.

When he opened the book, he was immediately absorbed into the world of runes as all sorts of things hednever even heard of before was made known to him.

Something interesting about the book was that it was actually bigger than its outward appearance, meaning it contained way more pages than what it let on. And so Christopher was quite elated when he realised that the knowledge inside wasn't just immediately super high grade but actually held the basics and gradually led to the more advanced stuff. It was very convenient.

And so just like that, Christopher started to learn about runes which he would use to vanquish his enemies.

What Christopher didn't know though, was that his act of killing his assailant made a certain group even more restless.

"Eminence." In a certain location that was as dark and gloomy as before, a robed figure entered a room where another figure sat down on a simple cot.

His tone was respectful as he addressed the figure on the cot and waited for him to give him permission to speak. And it didn't take long before he did so.

"Speak." He ordered, the same ancient and cold tone leaving their mouth.

"The mission failed. The individual who we have come to know as Christopher killed the people we sent." The person said and the Eminence was silent for a moment.

"What was the reason?" He asked.

"Should I show you the recording?" The robed person asked and the figure on the cot nodded.

Just like before, the robed figure brought out an orb which projected the scene of the battle between Christopher and his assailants.

Though, when Christopher summoned Scarlet, for the first time, the figure felt a trace of surprise.

'Oh?' Their interest was piqued seeing the blood red blade. And seeing Christopher easily break out of the cage he'd been put in, their interest only grew.

Their interest reached its peak when Belladonna had been summoned, and amazingly, she wasted no time in trying to curry favor with Christopher, and her statement about not being able to kill Christopher even after numerous attempts left the figure truly curious.

The recording ended when the assailant died, but the figure seemed satisfied.

"... Interesting." Their voice was still cold, but their curiosity was clear.

"How should we proceed, Eminence?" The robed person asked and the Eminence was silent for a moment before speaking.

"Send the Obsidian Squad after him. They are to bring him back alive." For the first time, the robed figure showed a trace of surprise.

"The Obsidian Squad? Excuse me for my impudence, but isn't that a bit much, Eminence?" The robed figure asked, but the Eminence just waved their hand without care.

"Sending anyone at the same rank is the same as giving him their lives on a platter. And even people a rank above him might not be enough. It's better to leave no room for error." Hearing this, the robed figure seemed hesitant, but in the end, they nodded.

"It shall be done." Then they left the room.

"Christopher hm? How interesting."

Meanwhile, far away from the Empire, a formation of flying mythical beasts could be seen flying at incredible speeds.

These beasts were the legendary Gryphons seen in most fantasies and they were massive, each of them giving off a powerful Aura. And those riding them were no different.

In the center of this formation was a magical construct that had no issue keeping up with the Gryphons. It resembled a luxurious building with wings. Green runes lined its surface and multiple Magic turrets covered it, making it no different from a flying fortress.

Inside, within a luxurious room, a beautiful girl could be seen. She had long white hair and pointed ears. The same Aisha mentioned before.

She was seated at a desk, paper all around her containing words and statements any unknowing person would associate with a crazy person.

Her brows were knit in concentration as she mumbled unconsciously to herself, whatever it is she was doing, she didn't seem very satisfied with the results.

She was so lost in thought and her work that she didn't notice her mother slip into the room and showed no reaction even after she was right behind Her.

Seeing her daughter so deep in thought, the Elven Queen sighed before calling out softly.

"Aisha." The flinched and whipped her head back, but when she saw her mother, she relaxed and exhaled.

"You startled me mother." She said and her mother was silent for a moment before asking.

"What's the progress?" Hearing this, Aisha's brows furrowed and she shook her head.

"It's strange. To begin with I'm unable to read too much about him which means he Is an extremely powerful individual. If that were all though then it wouldn't be that much of an issue. The issue however…" She frowned.

"... Is that at random intervals, his entire existence seems to completely vanish." Hearing this, Aisha's mother frowned as well.

"... How is that possible?" She asked and Aisha shook her head.

"I'm not sure myself. But it's as if he escapes the bounds of fate and as such, observing him becomes impossible." Her mother's frown deepened.

"No one can escape the bounds of fate unless they are either dead or not from this world." Aisha pondered.

"Not from this world huh…?" She mumbled and started to fall back into thought once more. But her mother shook her out of it.

"It's not possible. One can't be intricately connected to the fate of a world like how he is to ours and not be a part of that same world." She said and her daughter nodded, though her gaze was still contemplative.

Seeing this, she sighed and softly rubbed her head.

"Just keep doing what you can, okay? I'm sure we'll figure it out." After that, she left the room leaving Aisha to her thoughts.
