MY 10,000× DIMENSIONAL SYSTEM

Chapter 228: Just Chatting.

Just chatting.

Titus sat in his room with a thoughtful expression. Ever since the expedition ended, he spent a lot of time thinking mulling over everything he'd done from the beginning to the end of the entire thing.

Where he performed well and what he could have done better, things like that. There were quite a few things, mostly in his leadership skills. Then again, he hadn't made any mistakes with long-lasting consequences, so it could be said that he performed quite well. Still, he'd rather root out any flaws before the next significant thing came.

After that, there was the next thing that caught his attention. The strange power within his soul that had caused Veylthar to choose him as a worthy wielder.

After the last enhancement, which pushed him to the edge of the Grey rank, he was now on the cusp of entering the Apex rank, and the ability had now become more understandable.

It was strange. Whenever his rank grew, his understanding of the ability seemed to naturally increase. He wanted to say it was just how the enhancement worked, but something told him that even without the Dimension and its miracles, the result would be the same.

Anyway, he now knew that the name of the ability was the 'Soul Forge'. As for what it did, well, it made Veylthar's interest in him a lot more logical.

Essentially, the skill made his soul a forge. But not how most thought.

Veylthar had explained to him that his soul was different. It was purer than most, but that wasn't all. It seemed to be capable of producing a strange energy that was capable of enhancing whatever equipment that came into it.

As of current, his soul forge had just one ability, but even that was quite impressive. Essentially, if he placed something in it, it could be a weapon or a piece of armor. A strange energy would nourish it. Whatever imperfection existed in it would be expelled and absorbed by the forge to produce more of the energy. As for the piece of equipment, it would suddenly become better. But not just in common ways.

Sure, a blade might become sharper, but that wouldn't be all. It would be able to handle being strengthened by certain energies easier. It might become more attuned to whatever element or magic it was created for. It might even suddenly have a new ability to be used.

In short, the forge just made things better.

Now here's where things got impressive. This effect, which he decided to call Soul Enhancement, could work without him placing the equipment in his soul.

He realized now that what he did before, which he called his 'Territory', was a more incomplete version of the skill. Essentially, for a limited time, he could enhance all equipment around him for his allies, massively boosting the capabilities of each piece of equipment.

The only difference was that this actually drained Titus to use for too long or for too many people, but it wasn't draining his Mana, but the strange energy which he decided to call Ambrosia in his soul.

So je wouldn't exactly get tired, but if he tried to use Soul Enhancement on a weapon after draining all his Ambrosia, the item would kinda just sit in his souls without doing anything until some Ambrosia had been regenerated.

He had no idea how his soul produced the Ambrosia. At least, he knew it could take the impurities out of weapons to produce some, but besides that, he was at a loss for how the entire thing worked.

Moving on, he'd used the Soul Enhancement on Veylthar, and the results were stellar, to say the least.

The sword was already incredible. Not only could it change its shaoe according to his desires, but it's sharpness was simply frightening, so much so that it could injure the body of Lenax, who was one of the most physically oriented of Christopher's direct subordinates. (Granted, that was just a clone).

Then there's also the fact that it could inflict soul damage, which was incredibly difficult to defend against and heal. Then, there's its ability to absorb the Mana in the surroundings to enhance itself and deal devastating damage. Which is what Titus used to take out the clone.

All in all, it was a solid weapon, but he knew that he wasn't using it to its full capacity. After all, the tattoo on his arm still hadn't lit up completely, so the abilities he had access to were still limited.

That was until he used his Soul Forge.

To be frank, it didn't unlock any new abilities, but before Titus could feel too disappointed about that, he noticed that the already existing abilities had been enhanced greatly. For instance, its sharpness could only be described as shocking. How? Well, he was capable of cutting the floor of the training room. That was quite the feat, considering that black holes can barely dent it.

Then, the soul damage not only increased, but Titus noticed that his defense against soul based attacks had also risen significantly. There weren't a lot of people capable of dealing soul damage within the Primordial Expanse, but the few that could all said the same thing about how difficult it was to deal any meaningful damage against Titus' soul.

The third effect of absorbing the surrounding Mana, whether ambient or from his opponent's attack, had also changed. Now, not only could he sustain using the move for much longer, but when he did, Veylthar informed him on a few things he could do with absorbed Mana.

Among these things, his favorite was probably the skill her called Overclocking, which saturated his body with all the Mana and significantly boosted him in all aspects for a short amount of time. The downside is that when the skill's duration ended, he'd be weakened for a time.

Regardless, the fact he'd received such good benefits just from using his soul forge for the first time was enough to make him giddy.

However, there seemed to be a very long cooldown on the skill. Well, it's not cooldown per se. It was more like he couldn't continuously enhance the same weapon over and over again. It was hard to explain, but he just knew that he couldn't immediately use it on a weapon or equipment he'd just enhanced. That and he'd tried, and for some reason, the Ambrosia just didn't touch Veylthar. It was weird.

But right now, his soul was housing the weapons of his siblings and father and gradually nourishing them.

'I know Curtis is gonna be ecstatic.' He chuckled as he imagined his brother's reaction. He was the only one in their family besides Titus, who had a soul weapon, and he loved it like a son.

'Speaking of, I wonder what father went to do.' Titus thought. As soon as his father gave him his weapons, he said he had something to deal with and left. It seemed urgent, which was strange because he doubted anything was wrong, and if there was an issue, his master would have told him. Right?

'Hey kid.' Titus about jumped out of his skin when a voice suddenly echoed in his head without warning. However, he quickly recognized it and stood straight.

"Master!" He said and he heard a smirk.

'As uptight as usual. Anyway, how are you doing?' The question made Titus blink.

'You're asking me how I'm doing?' He asked back, deciding to speak with his mind.

'Well, I do have something to tell you. But I feel like it's been a while since we last spoke, so I wanna know how you're doing first. How did you feel about the entire expedition? Were your gains satisfactory? How is your mental health and your family? Stuff like that.' Titus blinked again.

He wasn't surprised when his Master said he had something to talk about, but to be asked about his general wellbeing, it was surprising. He imagined that Christopher was quite busy, so hearing about his life should seem like an unnecessary thing to ask. But he still did, which made Titus feel oddly warm.

'Ah, well...' Titus started talking, and as he did so, his shoulders gradually relaxed as he became more comfortable.

In his room, Christopher listened carefully as he split his attention between creating the new system and listening to his Disciple speak about his life.

While he knew exactly what Titus had been doing due to him being omniscient in the Primordial Expanse and having a piece of his will embedded in the Fortress Titus resided in, he still liked to hear him as well as his other subordinates speak of their ventures directly. It just felt more... natural.

Moreover, he imagined that it would be a bit irritating if his people wanted to talk to him about something only for him to just say he already knew. He'd done that a few times and saw that even though they kept silent, they were a bit annoyed by it.

So he committed to listening to them even if he already knew what they wanted to say, and it felt good, being able to talk to them. It made it feel like they weren't too distant from each other.
