Chapter 181: Azure and Prism Vs The Yeti II

Azure and Prism Vs The Yeti II

From that single attack, a large portion of the arena had been devastated.

Azure stood there, calm and unperturbed as usual, her shield and armor were as clean as before the fight started, making it hard for one to tell that it had just withstood a barrage of blows that could split apart numerous planets.

There was a growl from within the snow where the Yeti had ended up, and it slowly emerged from it. The damage it had sustained was... surprisingly meager.

Besides the skin on its chest being broken to reveal some drops of blood, the damage it sustained wasn't worth writing home about.

However, the look in its eyes changed. Before, it had attacked with wild abandon, hoping to overwhelm the enemy in front of it using sheer force. However, now that such a thing wasn't viable, the wild look in its eyes turned a bit more calculative.

This didn't surprise Christopher, he liked to assume that every creature that managed to reach the Apex rank was at least as intelligent as a human, and he would be correct in that assumption.

The Yeti snorted and took a step forward, and then it flashed and appeared in front of Azure with incredible speed.

It threw another powerful punch, but just as Azure moved to block it with her shield, the Yeti's fist changed its course and smashed into the ground. The force caused a visible ripple before the ground exploded and massive chunks of ice shot into the air, Azure and Christopher being on one of these.

The Yeti jumped between these chunks with alarming speed and ended up on a chunk directly above the two of them, then with a grunt, it shot down at them with horrifying speed.

Azure was still unperturbed though, as she simply moved closer to Christopher, held her shield above their heads, and tensed her body.

The Yeti crashed into the shield with all the momentum. However, instead of absorbing the force this time, Azure made it travel through her body and then into her feet. The result was that all the force she should have endured was transmitted into the chunk of ice she and Christopher stood on, causing it to explode into countless chunks.

This caused them to lose their footing for a moment, one that the Yeti took advantage of. It went from pressing its fists into Azure's shield to grabbing its edges, its muscles bulging as it prepared to yank the shield away from her.

However, Azure anticipated such a move as she had a reason for making the ice platform they were on exploded.

Before the Yeti could pull, the ice that made up the platform combined and condensed before shooting forward and wrapping around the Yeti's arms and neck with a vice-like grip.

It was temporarily bound, and Azure spun her body before landing a vicious kick in the Yeti's sternum, sending it flying until it smashed into the ground and created a large crater.

This entire sequence didn't take half a second.

Azure and Christopher landed calmly as the ice chunks rained around them, but they were unconcerned.

The frost cleared in time for the two of them to see the Yeti pulling off the bindings on its body. Then, it suddenly thrust its fists into the ground and brought them out a moment later. However, they were no longer as bare as this time, they were now wearing frost-blue boxing gloves.

Christopher's eyes widened as he saw the Yeti enter a familiar boxing stance.

'Ah, I want to fight him now.' He sighed and quelled the urge, he was determined to see how Azure and Prism would handle this enemy, and so far, Azure had satisfied him, but what about Prism?

The Yeti rushed forward again and threw a punch, but instead of Azure blocking the attack like before, or the Yeti's fist even reaching them, there was the sound of something shattering as 'Christopher and Azure' had somehow become a mirror and its reflections.

When the shards fell apart, the Yeti frowned and exhaled a bunch of frigid air as it looked around. It found its targets quickly, their Auras the same as before.

Without hesitating, it lunged forward again and threw a punch, but just like last time, it punched a mirror and its reflections.

The Yeti growled and stomped its foot, then the ice started to ripple before spikes emerged from the ground and aimed to impale everything as the Yeti assumed its targets were invisible.

However, before it could even see the results of its attack, a shield emerged from beneath it and smashed into the bottom of its chin. An audible crack sounded as several of its teeth were shattered and its body flew a few dozen meters into the air.

It would have flowed much farther, but Azure made it so that the force from her blow was concentrated into the Yeti's chin, causing more damage to that single area.

Despite that, it only ended up with a cracked jaw and broken teeth.

Moreover, it spun its body and aimed itself at the ground before blowing out a breath of extremely frigid air. Wherever the air passed, everything became encased in ice, even the ice itself.

However, right before the breath hut Azure and Christopher, a mirror suddenly appeared and absorbed the ice breath, and an instant later, it sent it right back at the Yeti.

The Yeti snorted and waved its hand, a powerful gust of wind shooting out to blow the reflected attack. But before the two could collide, another mirror appeared and absorbed the ice once more, and then another mirror appeared right above the Yeti and unleashed the ice on it.

The Yeti was immediately encased in ice, and Azure shot forward and appeared behind the Yeti and smashed the edge of her shield into the back, causing the Yeti to almost fold as it was sent flying again.

'She's doing well so far. But she's playing more of a support role at this point.' Christopher noted that Prism didn't make any direct attempts to attack. Granted, her set of abilities didn't make her a direct combatant.

The Yeti flipped its body and dug its feet into the ground to slow itself down, but another mirror appeared in front of its face and Azure's gauntlet smashed into its nose and made its head whip back sharply.

'This thing is durable.' Christopher noted, impressed by just how much punishment the Yeti was enduring. Azure's physical strength wasn't something to scoff at, so the fact that it was tanking these blows with minimal injuries was impressive.

That said, Azure and Prism were holding back. After all, the latter hadn't even used her sword yet.

The Yeti stood up again and wiped off the bloody snot from its cracked nose on its fur. Instead of looking angry, it looked calm. That wasn't to say that it wasn't angry, but it was properly analyzing the situation, and it had realized that there was a third being in this place, and the fact that it had been using indirect methods to attack it meant that its physical body must have been a lot weaker than the knight.

However, it had no idea how to track this being, so it could only increase its vigilance and be prepared for the mirrors that appeared.

Then there were the defenses of that knight. Just like how Azure's blows were nothing to scoff at, the Yeti's blows were just as, if not more devastating. Yet since this fight started, the Yeti had done no damage to Azure despite its powerful attacks.

But judging by how its use of magic prompted the appearance of those mirrors, it was possible that the knight couldn't defend against magic as well as it could physical attacks. In such a case, the Yeti's boxing gloves should make dealing damage possible. But it couldn't be sure until it landed an attack.

Then there was the masked being behind the knight.

Initially, the Yeti assumed they were the Weakest as they had no Aura. But now that it had calmed down, it realized the flaw in its thought process. After all, having no Aura meant that one was a mortal, and the passive cold of this hidden realm wasn't something a mortal could survive in. Yet this being had been surviving the cold, withstanding the shockwave, and calmly watching as the Yeti moved, meaning they could track its speed.

Those facts alone meant that this being was at the Apex rank at least, but the fact that the Yeti couldn't sense their Aura led to two possible conclusions. Either the being was using an item to suppress their Aura to the point that even the Yeti couldn't sense it, or they had such control over their strength that they could restrain their Aura enough for the Yeti to not be able to sense it. The former was worrying, but the latter was scary.

Yet, they hadn't made a move. That was also troubling, as if they were as strong as the Yeti assumed, then they didn't deem it worth their time to join the fight and simply had the knight and the third mysterious being handle it for them.

What the Yeti didn't know was that the only reason Christopher hadn't joined the fight was because he wanted to give Azure and Prism a chance to prove themselves. Otherwise, the Yeti would be dead by now.
