Chapter 6: Chapter 5: Trying to Build a Battle System
After another healing process from Lady Vida's, I was back in full health.
Now I was having a serious talk with Master Tars.
"So you want to leave this continent?"
"Yes sensei, I respect your teachings, but I am not fit to be an Aura Wi-"
"Bullshit" he cut me off, that was rude, I can't say shit though.
"There is no one in this world who can't use Battle Aura, it just depends on the person's hard work."
I understood his reasoning, but I still didn't agree.
When we started training, I didn't want to believe it at first, but I am sure now that I can't use it.
I came to accept that fact because from what Kalman told me, my father could use Aura, he didn't want to tell me how he knew that information but I trusted him.
My mother never tried to do so, but she was a normal person, as normal as a sky folk can be.
Who else had the same problem and is the closest to my case? The future God of Learning, Rudeus Greyrat.
Just like me, his father could use battle aura and both of his parents were normal, yet he couldn't use Battle Aura.
That was because of Rudy's Laplace Factor, although some other people who had the factor could use it like his Sieg and his wife who I keep forgetting the name of, but they didn't have a factor as strong as his own.
In my case, my Laplace Factor is stronger than all of them combined, so using Battle Aura is just not possible.
"With all due respect sir, I literally can't, my Laplace Factor stops me from-"
"Look, just because you look a little bit like that guy doesn't mean you can't use it, even he could probably use it if he tried hard enough."
He cut me off again. Rude.
Also, that's false, the guy literally can't and I look like him but with wings on my back, the only difference is that I have sharper facial features.
How do I reason with him, sigh.
To be honest, I wish I was born like Rudy, an easy life would be nice.
Master looked at my sad face and scouted.
"You can't even touch me, you think you will survive out there?"
'Of course, I will mother fucker not everyone is a North Emperor.' I thought to myself, if only I could cast electric on him.
This was a joke, even if he's a hard ass, he's still my master.
"If I can do it, will you let me?"
Master Tars scoffed at the idea, but after seeing my pleading eyes he reluctantly agreed. "Alright kid, let's make a deal, if you can hit me in the face at least once in the upcoming five years, I'll let you go, hell I will even ask for a friend of mine to make you a magic sword."
That's an attractive proposition, but there is no way.
"I wish I could do that, but you're a North Emperor, I don't think I would be able to be alive next to you if you wanted me dead."
He seemed to hate my way of thinking, but he couldn't say I was wrong.
"Fine, at the end of every month for the next five years, we will fight, I will only use a saint level Battle Aura, I will even ask Lady's Vida's to restrict me so I wouldn't be able to use more even if I wanted to, deal?"
That sounded more like it, but I was still worried. "Will you keep training me in the next five years then?"
"Pfft, no, why would I train someone who wants to defeat me?"
'Fair enough.' I thought.
"But what happens if I can't do it?" I still needed to know that. Tars is very powerful after all, even if he won't use more than a saint level Battle Aura, his techniques, experience, etc., are still enough to kill me with a single swing.
"Well, when that happens…" he said. When, and not if. He was sure that I would lose.
"Lady Vida will use a King Tier restriction spell, stopping you from using magic ever again, I will then train you till you can use Battle Aura."
This is scary, but I wouldn't expect less from him though.
"And if still can't use it?"
"Then you will die trying."
Amazing.
Someone, please shoot me already.
Without saying another word, Tars flew away, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
— — —
I had my talk with Tars yesterday, and today is the first of the month.
I am in an open field, somewhere no one could get hurt.
To make it, I will need to cover healing, mobility, defense, attack, concealment and detection.
My attack aspect has to be able to cover a long range, close range and mid range in combat.
Not only that, my combat system also has to have the ability to be able to fight large size enemies or single targets. So for that, I have to have trapping moves to pin my enemies down.
Mobility will allow me to shift rapidly in combat whether it is for attack, dodging or escaping.
The defense has to cover the body from any type of attack, whether it's magic or Battle Aura.
Detection will allow me to notice enemies' attacks, and respond or crack their moves.
Healing has to cover poison, and any type of injury from a single scratch to losing a limb or even half my body, it also needs to be done quickly.
Concealment will be important, there are many ways to find someone, I need to hide my temperature, magic flow, and anything that someone can use to find me.
The better I am at concealing my movement, the more advantage I have in combat because my opponent won't react in time against the attacks.
A Battle System is something you design to cover all your weaknesses and be able to fight in all kinds of situations.
This is very hard to do, great experts live their whole lives without even having the ability to cover one of them completely.
It's going to be hard to do, but my opponent is a literal monster, if I want to have some chance against him, I should at least cover most of them.
Five years, seven spells, let's do this!
First I will cover the mobility, I would rather not get hit by any attack, especially not one from Master Tars.
Since I only have seven spells, I have to choose one and develop it, then make it meddle with other spells.
The obvious choice here was the wind spell that could make a gush of wind.
Not only was it perfect for movement, but it's also the best choice for a sky folk like me, we are known to be the best at wind magic after all.
At first, I started getting used to it, using it to move around, avoid and help me with flying.
I kept doing that for the rest of the month, I only stopped to eat and take care of my basic needs until my mama reserves were emptied each day.
With that, I started using the spell instinctively whenever I moved.
The day of the first battle came, Tars and I moved to a place far away from the town, there I was ready to at least evade three of his attacks.
I lost, miserably at that too.
Before I even realized it, he was in front of me, I evaded the first attack using the wind to move me away from him, but with a hit from his spear, I passed out, losing.
To my credit, I did move a little bit, making him hit my shoulder instead of my chest, but it still made me pass out.
It took me a day to wake up from the attack, Lady Vida didn't heal me, Tars stopped her from doing so unless my life was on the line.
I couldn't move my hand at first, I tried using the healing spell I recently learned but it didn't do much, so instead I tried something new.
The spell that makes blood is one that I am very interested in, it's not that good for me but it can be developed into something else.
"There is no useless spell, only useless mages." God that sounded awesome, I was waiting for the right moment to say it for a while!
Thankfully no one from my world is here so they wouldn't know I practically stole it from a novel I read and edited it into my own thing.
Anyway,
After studying its effects with my third eye, I found something interesting.
Since I am a living being, magic flows through my blood.
So, can I make the mana inside that blood have an effect?
The idea is simple, the blood already has mana in it and it is natural, so what if I added another type of mana to it?
I got to work, and bought five alive horned rabbits from the market.
I am not rich by any means, so they cost me dearly. I better make good use of them.
I took one of them and gave him a cut, then I used a lot of mana on my third eye to see the flow of mana in its body clearly but focused more on the flow of mana in the blood.
Something interesting happened, I could see a part of the blood flowing to the cut and protecting it, seeing that I put some dirt on it and I could see the blood moving faster.
I know what this is. To someone else, it would seem otherworldly but to me it's clear.
These are white cells trying to protect the body.
I healed the rabbit, cut it again and kept observing the process multiple times until it died from the pain.
Now I have a clear view of how the white cells work.
Grabbing another bunny I gave it a deep cut, and when the little guy almost died from blood loss, I used the spell I just got recently, refilling its blood.
The blood here however was dense in mana, I applied the same logic I was using when creating the water balls.
After a while the Rabbit became larger, while its skin became a darkish red.
I touched it and it was tougher than stone, wow.
It died however shortly after.
With my third eye I realized that the reason for that was because the heart that was pumping the blood couldn't handle the new blood.
Too bad, but this is interesting, I will use it against Tars for sure, my heart is very strong after all.
I still have to find a way to heal myself though.
Next.
For the third one, I used a more gentle approach, and this time I was more precise, I used my third eye until it hurt and made sure that only the white cells were getting the dense mana.
The bunny died shortly after from its white cells being unable to work.
To an outsider, it would seem that I am wasting my time. But in reality, I was learning a lot of things.
All of this could be attributed to my third eye which made me see the process so clearly.
It seems that just making the cell full of mana won't work, I need to use a specific kind.
With my last bunny, I was very careful, experimenting on each limb and cutting it off when it seemed bad.
Three days later, I made progress.
Using the concept behind healing magic that could make the process of healing faster on the white cells, healed the bunny faster than normal. Although it didn't have any limbs now.
I tried this new method on my shoulder, first I burned the blood around it then I replaced it with the new blood that had the white cells imbued with healing magic.
Blood pumped in my body and my heart hurt the more I used it, but after a while with me performing the healing spell outside my body, my shoulder was fixed.
I then burned the new blood replacing it with normal blood so my heart could take it.
With this, not only did I heal my body, but I could even see a way to make my body more durable.
— — —
Time passed quickly, it was the end of the month now.
Tars and I were in the same spot, he had that smug smile on his face that irritated me.
"Ready to lose after two hits again?"
"Not quite," I answered.
This is my newest invention.
Advanced Tier Spell: Blood Pump!
I burned my blood, before changing it with blood filled with mana and my healing magic on the white cells, it took me a lot of time to learn how to do it so fast.
My body started becoming bigger as my muscles grew to an unnatural size with my skin turning red.
My heart hurt but I could take it.
"Oh?" Tars seemed to be surprised at my new appearance, before lunging to test me.
He delivered a kick to my stomach, which I tanked like it was nothing.
"Hmf, not so strong now are you?"
My body was like an inflated balloon, no saint level hit could harm me now.
"That's good and all, but why aren't you moving?"
I didn't answer.
This was the flaw in my technique, in return for giving my body great durability, I lost the ability to move.
I didn't have enough time to develop it, this was all I could reach.
"Hahahah" Tars started laughing at me, "all good to me, a new punching bag sounds awesome."
That day, I had the beating of my life.
I was left in the cold mud, beaten to a pulp.
Poor bunnies, they died for nothing.
After that battle, it took a week for my body to get back to normal with my new way of healing.
I am going at this the wrong way.
At this pace, I will never develop a Battle System in the limited time I have.
I thought and thought about a way to make Blood Pump more usable, then it hit me.
The potions, when it didn't work my body rejected them, letting them out in the form of steam.
If I could implement the same logic, I think I might do something.
As the days passed, I worked tirelessly on making this new method.
Now, it was the end of the month.
