Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 80: [80] The Advancement of the Hand of Jacob

The warm sunlight outside streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows into the dreamlike princess's boudoir. The gauzy curtains surrounding the princess's bed rippled gently in the breeze. Roy opened his eyes, brushed aside the platinum-blonde hair near his lips, and tenderly pushed the soft, smooth figure nestled in his arms to the side before sitting up against the headboard.

"Mmm... You're awake, Roy."

Alice murmured drowsily, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

Over the past year, Alice had stopped addressing him as King and instead called him by his name with affectionate intimacy. Her slightly hoarse voice still carried a lazy, ambiguous tone.

"What time is it?"

The princess rolled over, her snow-white arms wrapping around Roy as she asked with her eyes still closed.

"A little past seven in the morning..."

Roy glanced at the clock on the wall and replied.

"Only seven? Then I'm going back to sleep."

Alice mumbled. She had only slept for three hours so far. Compared to the stamina of a Campione, her body as a witch was far too delicate and fragile.

If not for Roy infusing her body with his essence—imbued with divine authority—every few days over the past year, gradually healing the chronic ailments caused by her excessive spiritual power, Alice would have likely perished long ago.

"Alright, go back to sleep then."

Before Roy could finish speaking, he heard the even breathing of Alice, who had already fallen back asleep.

Shaking his head with a wry smile, Roy put on his pajamas and left the bedroom. The head maid of the Duke Goddodin's household, the middle-aged woman in her forties whom Roy had once nearly killed, was already waiting respectfully outside.

"Your Majesty, a maid is awaiting you in the washroom. Please proceed there for your morning ablutions!"

The head maid bowed deeply as she spoke.

She harbored no resentment toward Roy—nor dared to—and was even grateful to him for curing Alice's chronic ailments and extending her future lifespan. Though it was somewhat regrettable that someone of Alice's status could only be the King's lover, the head maid knew this was not something she should concern herself with.

"Understood. Alice was exhausted last night, so don't disturb her. Let her sleep until lunchtime."

"Yes!"

The head maid acknowledged but remained stationed outside Alice's boudoir, continuing her long-standing duty of standing guard.

A year prior, Roy had 'slain' King Solomon in Jerusalem and obtained his divine authority. Meanwhile, Aiwass had refined Pandora's Circle of Usurpation, testing it on Roy as a minor experiment.

The modified Circle of Usurpation by Aiwass had a slight flaw. After merging King Solomon's spiritual foundation with Roy, the overlapping aspects of their compatibility were indeed enhanced—primarily manifesting in the divine authority known as the Hand of Jacob.

Although Roy had previously claimed his Hand of Jacob had seven forms, in reality he had only created five. The final two forms exceeded the limits of this authority in his deductions, so he never brought them to fruition.

This time, with the completion of Solomon's spiritual foundation, Roy finally perfected all seven forms of the Hand of Jacob. More importantly, during this enhancement, Roy upgraded this authority once more, endowing the seven forms with special powers.

For example, his first form, Saintess Subdues the Dragon, originally granted Roy draconic strength when executing the strike but lacked any additional traits. Now, after the fusion and ascension of Roy's new Hand of Jacob with King Solomon's inherited version, this technique has gained the attribute of 'Anti-Dragon.' When used against dragon-kin, it inflicts significantly greater damage.

From this perspective, Aiwass's modified Circle of Usurpation was a success. The reason it still had flaws lay in the fact that the spiritual foundation fusion didn't substantially increase Roy's magical power.

While Roy's magical power had grown slightly, the increase was too marginal, falling short of Aiwass's theoretical projections for the ritual's improvement. Thus, for both Roy and Aiwass, the ritual remained unsatisfactory, requiring further refinement.

Over the past year, Aiwass had continued refining the Circle of Usurpation. As the most fundamental and complex Campione Reincarnation Ritual in the world, modifying it was an immense challenge—even for Aiwass, the Holy Guardian Angel renowned for his mastery of knowledge inheritance.

Meanwhile, Roy spent the year shuttling between England and Italy. Apart from reading books offered by various magical societies, he indulged in the pleasures of high society, using this lifestyle to evade Salvatore Doni's relentless pestering.

When the Sword King was in Italy, Roy fled to England, and when Doni left, Roy returned. It wasn't that Roy feared the Sword King—it was just that the simple-minded man was insufferable, obsessed with nothing but fighting, his brain devoid of anything beyond brute strength. Such distractions hindered Roy's studies, and as a dedicated scholar, Roy resolved to minimize contact with such an underachiever.

Throughout the year, he also quietly awaited the descent of a Heretic God.

Heretic Gods were far rarer than one might imagine—otherwise, only seven Campiones would have emerged in the past three centuries, and even this was the most prolific era in human history. For an entire year, Roy heard almost no news of a Heretic God's manifestation.

His Clairvoyance mystic eyes allowed him to uncover all the world's hidden truths, so Roy even knew where the Last King currently slumbered. However, Roy's current strength was no match for the Last King. Waking him prematurely would spell disaster for all Campiones.

Roy was now quietly waiting for more Heretic Gods to descend, so he could slay them and seize their spiritual foundations. Under the improved Pandora's Circle of Usurpation by Aiwass, he would grow even stronger—just like an RPG protagonist who must first level up their skills before facing the final boss.

Ding-a-ling————

Fresh from washing up, Roy heard his phone ring. He didn't bother checking the caller ID. Only a handful of people in the world knew his number, and if someone was calling, it had to be important.

"Lord Roy, the Seven Sisters Alliance has made progress in the ancient ruins excavation as you requested. We've discovered a divine artifact belonging to the ancient Queen of the Mediterranean!"

At that moment, Roy knew—what he had been waiting for had finally arrived!
