Multiverse's Holy Right

Chapter 73: [73] The Seventh Day

"Cake! Strawberry cake!"

An excited Roman flung the door open at top speed, shouting like an eager child waiting to be fed.

Though working ten-hour days was somewhat exhausting, getting to sample modern delicacies from around the world during breaks made all the hardship worthwhile. Among these treats, he particularly adored strawberry cake.

"Please wait a moment, King Solomon! Let me first serve King his nutritious meal to replenish his energy. King must be exhausted after today's studies."

Erica shot Roman a glare, her tone full of helplessness. This Solomon who had become "human" now behaved and had preferences like a child—even Erica found it hard to remain wary of him.

Not only did the current Solomon lack any semblance of a king's demeanor—coming across more like a timid, easily bullied submissive—but he was also sincerely teaching Roy about magic. This left Erica with no real grounds to complain about him.

'If this too is the wisdom of Solomon, then I can only admit defeat.'

Erica thought to herself as she pushed the dining cart into Room 06, ignoring Roman's protests of "I've been working nonstop and I'm exhausted too."

Roman seemed quite afraid of Erica. After being glared at by her, he obediently stood to the side, rubbing the back of his neck with an awkward smile.

'This guy really can't handle strong-willed women.'

Roy observed Roman's behavior thoughtfully.

Behind Erica was Liliana, the upright and courageous knight who was extremely polite. She greeted Roman with a formal salute, which only made him even more flustered.

"Excuse me, King Solomon! I was wondering if I might have the honor of continuing to receive your teachings today?"

The last to enter was Alice, the White Princess of Europe, who was the most interested in Solomon. As the former chairman of the Greenwich Assembly and with her love for excitement, she always sought to gain some knowledge that intrigued her from Solomon.

Roy glanced at Alice and asked with concern, "…How's your condition?"

"Thank you for your concern, my King. I've recovered a little, though I still can't use my witch's spiritual power yet. Once you finish learning from King Solomon in a few days, you can… give me another 'injection,' and I'll be all better."

Alice's cheeks flushed as she blinked at Roy, her gaze ambiguous.

Erica, hearing Alice's words, twitched slightly and muttered under her breath, "…That deceitful vixen, tricking the King!"

Beside her, Liliana also caught the hidden meaning in Alice's words, her face steaming like a boiling kettle.

Later, the group shared a late-night snack and chatted, though most of the conversation consisted of Alice asking questions while Roman answered. To Roy, many of those questions seemed like Alice seeking knowledge and magic from the King of Magecraft.

Though Roman constantly complained about work, he truly did his best to fulfill his promises, even answering questions outside of "working hours" without refusal. Roy suspected he simply enjoyed the joy of interacting with others as a "human."

By eleven at night, the girls had all taken their leave, leaving only Roy and Roman in the room. Roy couldn't help but feel frustrated—he could have been indulging in nightly revelries, living a carefree life with women, yet here he was, forced to share a room with a man.

But there was no helping it. Roman's current identity was that of a Heretic God, and as a Campione, Roy couldn't afford to let his guard down completely. A rampaging Heretic God was terrifying, so he had no choice but to reluctantly share the room—both for convenience and as a form of surveillance.

If someone had told Roy in the past that the wise King Solomon was actually a slacker, he would never have believed it. Yet now, he had no choice but to accept it.

The greatest king in Israel's history was currently sitting at a desk, clutching a computer and laughing heartily, occasionally scooping up a spoonful of cake to savor. He treated the strawberries on the cake with extra care, and beside him sat a bottle of cola.

Roman was watching a very popular VTuber lately. It was unclear whether he actually understood these virtual idol livestreams, but the wise king was thoroughly engrossed, his expressions incredibly animated and immersive while viewing.

He'd chuckle foolishly when insulted, sniffle along when the streamer was sad, and when donations were requested, he'd shamelessly pester Roy for money, claiming his earnings should be under his own control.

Though Roy suspected he was being scammed, he couldn't refuse when faced with that pitiful expression.

"To swindle King Solomon into opening his wallet—this streamer must be something else."

Roy sighed in amazement. He now believed Roman's claim that his name came from Japanese, as Roman was indeed watching a Japanese livestream.

Aside from eating cake, drinking cola, and watching streams, Roman's favorite pastime was reading. His tastes were diverse—so much so that Roy considered most of it useless knowledge—yet Roman devoured it all with enthusiasm.

Even though he could instantly learn anything by activating the Wisdom of God, he insisted on reading like a normal human, saying, "Only this way do I feel more like a person."

Roy let him be. As long as he was happy, this former king—now embracing humanity and learning how to be human—could do as he pleased.

"Hey, Roman. I'm getting sleepy. I'll head to bed first. Have fun."

Roy yawned, exhaustion creeping into his voice.

As a Heretic God, King Solomon could go days without sleep, but Roy, despite being a Campione, was still fundamentally human. Skipping sleep for a day or two was manageable, but prolonged exhaustion took its toll—especially since he spent so much mental energy studying daily. A good night's rest was non-negotiable.

"Got it. Sleep well. I'll wake you up tomorrow!"

Roman didn't even turn around, still grinning at the screen as he waved dismissively.

Then, he grabbed a pair of headphones, not wanting the audio to disturb Roy's rest.

"Even if you turn it up, it won't bother me. My sleep isn't that light. There's plenty of snacks and drinks in the fridge—go wild. It'll make the experience better."

Roy shared his otaku wisdom before yawning again, bidding goodnight and flopping onto the bed—clothes still on.

Stripping in front of another man? Too weird.

The days passed in this mundane routine—work, study, laughter—so ordinary that it almost made them forget the fates of a Campione and a Heretic God.

But the seventh day arrived nonetheless.
